@jalenaverylloydaveryiisson8862 was he playing studio gangster when he shot the 2 undercover Cops? Was he playing studio gangster when he went to jail and spoke on his families behalf when that reporter tried to disrespect them about the cointelpro that got his family locked up illegally? Was he playing gangster after getting shot 5 times, and going head to head with bad boy records, and out selling them with his truth? When he was telling the black community to pick up where the black panthers left off was he playing studio gangster? Let me guess your mad because he could be famous in the streets and Hollywood at the same time after surviving real life events. Today's definition of a thug is not what 2pacs definition ment. He's whole reason for being was to show the less fortunate you could be anything with the right ambition. Pac wasn't playing thug when he died he was trying to protect a crew full of cowards that didn't return the favor when he passed. Do your research on that man or don't speak on his name he gave his life to protect people who looked just like you.

I am a 90's baby and I'll say without a shadow of a doubt that Tupac is the greatest of all time; his black panther background, political commentary, raw authenticity, fearlessness, intellect, genius and his controversy make him one of a kind. He wrote his own lyrics and his catalogue is unrivalled. Even as an actor he was unique...great films. Many have tried imitate him and bite his style but all pale in comparison. There's a reason why dirty cops took him out in Vegas. Rest in power Makaveli tha Don.

As a woman myself that anger easily use to stay ready to fight as a young woman and I’m still in protection mode more than ever, a lot of it comes from not being protected by men and abused by our black men instead. I grew up having to protect myself other young ones around me being the only girl in my family in my generation then my nieces. It has to be better protection for black women to feel protected by our men instead of victims having to protect ourselves.

Man I absolutely love Dr. Umar Johnson and I could listen to this intellectual speak all day. Maybe he isn’t at the point in his life’s journey to comprehend that an individual’s life’s worth isn’t remotely merited based on their gender of attraction, but I’m wise enough to choose to love him despite that simply because he’s such a profound leader and also because his messages speak to our collective consciousness and/or souls as a oppressed race of people. As a fellow scholar I see so much of myself within him and endeavor to master his multitude of other aspirational qualities. He is a treasure to our community and I think it’s because he operates within his gift which is to touch & change the lives of so many slumbering blacks who need to hear it most. May not believe it now but Dr. Umar Johnson is a Modern Day GOAT much like Tupac was while he walked this earth. Dr. Umar Johnson saves life 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

I think the duality in Pac comes from A. he was young so he hadn’t matured out of certain behaviors we know are detrimental to the community in hindsight. And B most people can’t perceive a conscious revolutionary who is also a ghetto hood nigga from the neighborhoods. Our symbols of consciousness before were all clean cut. Malcolm x ( post Detroit red) , MLK, Marcus Garvey etc. Pac had the same spirit but also was raised by the streets of Baltimore and Oakland so you could see the panther influence and the street mentality at different times. I don’t think the more aggressive side was a facade because there are too many real life instances from too many accounts of him being a hot head who was ready to go at someone if he felt disrespected. At the same time we saw many instances where he stood for social/ political change in his community. His legend is directly attached to that dichotomy because a lot of people from his generation and after can relate to being both ways within themselves.

It just seems like alot of Black Men specifically, are always trying to bring Tupac's legacy down a notch or prove that he wasn't who he said he was 😂 I think its sad, I think it speaks to the fact that Black men don't see themselves as worthy of that level of love, respect and admiration! No One is making him a God or a deity we're simply, honoring the legacy he left behind which he earned! He was only 25 when he died, He wasn't perfect, He made mistakes, He could be contridictory in certain situations..None of us are One way in every single, situation 😂. Krazy is probably 1 of my top 5 favorite songs from pac and he had plenty but Krazy is deep to me...Pac is the goat to me...he wasnt perfect by no means but i related so much to his music with being a black man and going through so many things emotionally in life and to this day his music still gives me chills

That very last part spoke to me. "Even when you THINK you're not paying attention to the women, you ARE." I'm single right now and choose to be so, intentionally, but I can definitely resonate with the fact that there's still that part in me that's "looking", even when I'm not really in that mode to look.
@DebiTerrell-f2d
@DebiTerrell-f2d 25 күн бұрын
i dont agree w/that part. im a woman who has been unsuccessful in finding what im looking for even tho i dont feel like im actively 'looking'. I know the truth is that males dont like me but for one or two things and that is to take advantage of me and control me. I am stubborn and refuse to be anything like that. ive seen other co-dependent women that just let males walk all over them until they have no self-esteem, no backbone or spine and are not a human being anymore but just a shell of a person. i cant do that to myself. I been there and done that before and barely got out w/part of my sanity left. thank God!

Everyone in the comments keeps saying the interviewer is hating on Tupac. I don't see it that way. To me, he just isn't jocking Tupac like most people do. For him, Tupac was cool but not some god-like deity. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I agree with him. I was more influenced by KRS-ONE, Jeru the Damaja, Paris, Killah Priest, etc. But I also agree with Dr. Umar as to why so many people worship Tupac. He always bared his soul and let you see the good, the bad, and the ugly side of him. So, every human can relate to Tupac because we are all walking contradictions trying to figure out this journey called Life. I believe he was destined to be the great influencer he became. May he Rest In BLISS.

Parish Lesane Crooks was the most influential, genuine and infinite artist of the genre. The man wasn’t fake. Duality isn’t ingeniousness. PAC was a real friend, who really loved his people (which is ultimately what got him killed). Being good to bad company. PAC always wanted a home. He encompassed all aspects of life in his music, most of hip hop replicated his posture, demeanor, and even styles but never his perspective wholly. Now that he’s passed, you hear the disgruntled ramblings of people he destroyed, humiliated or intimidated while alive. Slept with many current wives in the industry too… PAC wasn’t “crazy”. He was with the shits. A real friend is on go for those they love. NO talking necessary. PAC wasn’t gay or “trying to be gangsta”, he was a nigga from the streets of Americas worst neighborhoods who was artistic. Doing ballet at art school mandatorily or voluntarily doesn’t make you gay. PAC was also a thespian. Michael Jordan studied ballet…

I have to admit that while PAC was alive, I personally was not much of a fan of his antics and much of his music. Nothing personal whatsoever, coming from a boring suburban area called Fort Washington, Maryland., I really couldn’t relate to a lot of the lyrics. I was more of a “Native Tongues” enthusiast. I was inspired by conscious lyrics, and wordplay. It’s very telling of society, when you know how the man was viewed by a more than large segment of his musical audience, and peers. I’m not mad at his “Legacy” on no level, it’s just funny how people switch or become involved in the artist after they’re murdered, ie…Nipsey, Pop, etc…☮️

Pac was very conscious in his early work. His first album 2pacalypse features some of his most lyrical prowess regarding social issues. When he got signed to Death Row, that's when Pac changed. He was more aggressive, more angry, alert due to being shot in NYC. Me Against the World is his best album

@KyngShad and accused of SA, sent to prison, everybody trying to blackball him. The slandering of his name from top politicians, newspapers, magazines, networks, sellout rappers, the fact that his own best friend set him up in NY to get shot, he didn't trust anyone at the time of his release from prison, his back was against the wall and he knew he was a marked man so his time was limited. Didn't help that he was the son of a panther either. It's so much to his short life that's a huge part of why so many people understood his rage and anger while also understanding his revolutionary ways

I was raised in the church and I could relate to Andre 3000, Souls of Mischief, Pharcyde, Odd Squad (Devin the Dude's crew) A Tribe Called Quest, and Ras Kass more than I could to more Street oriented Artists like Dmx, Ugk, Geto Boys, Nwa, Bone Thugs, Three Six, 8Ball and MJG, Mobb Deep etc. Nas and Tupac reached me and pulled me into their world due to their talent to reach beyond the Streets. Much love to Tupac Amaru Shakur and continual blessings to Nasir Jones.
