Actually Malayalam version is best as the other versions all the lead actors like Vishnu Vardhan and rajinikanth ensured that their stardom won't affected in a heroine centric titled film. So they reduced nagavalli characters performance in last 10 minutes and if you see Malayalam version the song followed by nagavalli performance was given extra time and only in Malayalam version that character killed her enemy with her own hands and it was shown she took blood but in kannada and tamil and Telugu version ( which is dubbed version of Tamil) it was shown he gets killed by fire.

Throughout his 200+ films whatever we've seen him, he was far more special than that, if our directors had properly used his potential definitely he'd ruled the Indian cinema lyk a boss.... And soundarya madam wat an outstanding performance ... Such a pure soul acting, acclaimed success and stardom at her very young age... Missing both legends very badly😔😔😔😔 those both should hv been there till now....P Vasu would still excellently made this movie sequel (Aptharakshaka)... Anyway though this was a remake , through kannada this movie got nationwide popularity..... You first watch Malayalam movie manichithrathazhu fully. You need to know language little bit otherwise you cannot judge the performance. Soundarya did well but look at shobanas dancing and acting. What shobana did was Bharathanatyam the other languages heroines dance were horrible. Kannada and tamil movie was taken to satisfy the heroes fan but Malayalam was realistic and those heroes just allowed heroine shobana to perform her role. Kannada and tamil version same director P. vasu. The original movie came in 1993 and definitely rajinikanth would have watched the Malayalam movie but only after watching kannada version in 2003 he decided for remake in tamil as he felt his character was not compromised by heroines performance. At least soundarya dancr can be watched but jothikas expression were really funny. By the way she was not the original choice. The original choice was simran who shot couple of scenes with rajinikanth but opted out of the movie as she became pregnant at that time. Since the song involved some heavy steps, she opted out and jothika was casted instead of her

Shobhana got best actress national award in 1993 for the movie MANICHITRATHAZ from which remake had been made in all other languages. None of the remake comes to the standard of the original. Also when breaking things like that clock at a lightning quick pace is humanly impossible. Then she speaks Telugu a language she doesn't know. Also she sings and dances which she doesn't know. She lifts that heavy bed which only 3-4 strong men together can lift. She had a mental problem and that childhood loneliness led to it. There was a ghost too and also she was mentally ill
