Proton therapy is a type of radiation therapy that uses beams of protons (tiny particles with a positive charge) to kill tumor cells. This type of treatment can reduce the amount of radiation damage to healthy tissue near a tumor. It is used to treat cancers of the head and neck and organs such as the brain, eye, lung, spine, and prostate. Proton beam radiation is different from standard X-ray radiation.

I have a tele-health meeting scheduled with Dr. Chen in two weeks. My hip was replaced, titanium stem, ceramic head, cross linked poly. Is proton therapy still possible?

excellent video I am meeting with my doctor for the first time I had a Gleason 7 out of One of the 12 cores biopsied that were taken by my urologist and I'm a pretty thin guy. The cancer was found on Core 9. Do you know if they numb the area where the Hydro gel is given and is it more difficult to sit while going through your treatment having the Hydro gel inside?
