____________________________________
In this clip, Dr. Wesley Muhammad discusses the power of social media and its impact on the #JusticeOrElse march. He pointed out how the mainstream media had a "whiteout" of the event as a way to deter its attendance and overall impact yet the grassroots nature of the #JusticeOrElse movement saw 1 million people march on the anniversary of the NOI's Million Man March. Dr. Muhammad goes on to talk about the influence of the Nation of Islam on hip-hop, and particularly the influence Minister Louis Farrakhan has on hip-hop culture as a whole prompting him to dub Minister Farrakhan "transgenerational." Dr. Muhammad pointed out that rappers from JAY-Z, Jay Electronica, 2 Chainz, and Young Thug among many others still seek Minister Farrakhan's counsel. But in terms of overall impact and really reaching the masses, Dr. Wesley Muhammad feels that is a power only rappers possess. He believes they are true gods by definition because of their power to shape minds and in turn "communal thinking."

It's like so many others who go to church on Sunday and live however they want Mo.-Sa. It is frustrating to have so many intelligent, gifted, influential rappers and celebrities who have some form of Knowledge of Self but choose the money, fame, and superficial, materialistic lifestyle of entertainment over righteous, civilized representation of our Divine Culture.

The reason why is because Hip Hop has moved into the era of, “ I’m doing me at cost of everything/one else”. Conscious Hip Hop has been destroyed by the record companies and gluttony and overindulgence is the message of the day and we’re ALL guilty of it

The majority of these rappers in mainstream media and heavy rotation on the radio are not gods, they are POETS like Surah 26 in the Quran. They SOUND good. The TALK a good game. They tickle the ear. They babble on (Babylon). They are attractive and enthralling. Yes, they are influential and powerful, but in what way? Are they leading people to Allah, Islam, and righteousness or are the leading people away from Allah, Islam, and righteousness? Talking loud and ain't saying nothing. The Messenger spoke on two gods being on the scene: a Righteous God and an evil god... So which rappers are representing the Righteous God and which ones are representing the evil god. Many speak with a forked tongue and are Luke Warm. Straddling the fence and playing games. Flip Flopping. Lip professors. If we call ourselves God and yet we still/steel do everything 85's, 10%, Christians, Jews, and devils do, what distinguishes us, qualifies us, or justifies us as Gods? None of us are 100% Holy right & exact, however, there has to be a conscious and CONSISTENT effort to change for the better. There should be evidence of growth and change if Snoop is embracing the Church, God, and gospel, just as all these celebrities thank Jesus Christ as their Saviour when they win awards, just as these rappers are seeking counsel from Farrakhan or claiming to be righteous & conscious with Knowledge of Self...There should be a distinction in how we conduct ourselves and perform our duty.

Assad Abdul Muhammad I'm a Christian trying to just study ur faith for myself. I put out videos on can Christians be conscious also. I am very hurt by the thought that. So many black men lack knowledge and understanding they does not look at the black woman as the queen anymore but ,to turn towards the white woman as if she is the queen in a goddess of this world. As I walked discreet traveling from one city to the next I see a whole generation of black men that have no respect for the black woman have no respect for their self they're using all types of drugs they won't even help the, black elderly women walking with. Groceries they won't even help me walking with groceries, it sometime make me think why am. I round my people when they won't even help me.But i will give my life for my only ppl.✌✌✌

black City girl prepper this is due to the fact that many of our people are devoid of self knowledge and are living the life of a beast. When it comes to Christianity, we ask ourselves how it came to be and why weren't our oppressors apprehensive about teaching us Islam during slavery times?

I don't think my brother Wesley understood the direction of the question. I also believe NOI have to be careful in their answers as representatives of the Honorabke Minister Louis Farrakhan. Quite simply Brother Vlad (smile), the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave Louis Eugene Walcott a difficult decision to make: come serve your people if you believe what I teach is the truth or stay in the "world.". While the NOI does not force people to become registered Muslims; its effectiveness as the Fruit of Islam belies adherence to certain restrictive laws. To become a registered Muslim, you'd have to give up a lot of things that the wicked make fair seeming. There are a few rap artist with the talent of hip hop entertainment but not the moral value necessary to give up the wickedness of the world. However, their power and The Minister's own experience of giving up his music may have impacted how he deals with a new generation of artist. They are more effective and valuable to the influence of our people than they may be under the restrictive laws of the NOI. I am not a Nation member, so I feel more at liberty to express an opinion of the leader and the effectiveness of that leadership dynamic. Even brothers in the Mosque with such talent as rappers are no longer discouraged from being artist, but it would be rare that righteousness and restrictive laws make it to the top of the music industry billboard charts. Let's face it: "hoes" is a number 1 sounding theme -not Goddess or Essence of the Earth. Queen Latifa made such a remote concept a hit in our black experience very briefly, but "hoes and bitches" became more enduring terms for a burgeoning generation. Ice Cube and Chuck D (who were not registered members by the way) were artists with such rare opportunities where talent embraced black consciousness significant enough and made it to the forefront of the minds of its audience to spark action. This generation is much harder to spark because they had less experience with black struggle as part of their daily experience as we did. Therefore, where the Minister may be less impactful, a lil yachty may be more relevant to their minds. Just as there are forces feeding them negativity and the sport and play of this world; we are all hoping that they are listening and impacted by our righteousness. It is wiser if we learn to speak the language our generations rather than put everyone in a suit and bow tie. The work of the Nation is not merely one of Black Consciousness (it's not popular) but more of spiritual guidance for those that would be receptive to hear. There is no compulsion in Islam. We show people clean living; and artist may be reluctant to adhere to such spiritual guidance as a lifestyle. Such artists albeit can direct a fan in need of guidance to seek righteousness -even if they themselves can't follow.

Reginald Muhammad Thank you dear Brother. 👍🏼👍🏼. Yes sir, I am forever thankful that I have heard the teachings and wisdom imparted by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan that would provide a spiritual map against mental slavery. We have been given the mental weapon and shield to confront those against the struggle for our liberation and building of a powerful nation to help our people. We won't have to shed one drop of blood or use one ounce of force if we are a thinking people, actively solving the problems presented in this world. 😃👌🏽💜💪🏿

One of the Scriptures related about the devil and his musical talents is found in Job 38. God questions Job in order to reinforce the point that he lacks the wisdom, power and authority to judge the actions of his Creator. The Lord, during his correction, reveals the musical talent all the angels, including the devil, were blessed with upon their creation. He states, "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? . . . When the morning stars (including Lucifer, who became the devil) sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (Job 38:4, 7, HBFV). The word "stars" in Job 38, in this context, is a synonym for angels. Both the Jamieson, Fausset, Brown and Matthew Henry commentaries confirm that "morning stars," as used in this verse, are indeed referring to angelic beings. Revelation 1:20 also uses the word stars to represent angels (Revelation 1:20). Satan's twisted talent for music is used to convey messages that are destructive (especially self-destructive), degrading, obscene and anything else that opposes God's way. Be careful what you hear or sing. Both righteous and evil angels do have the ability to sing and make music, with varying degrees of musical (although in some cases perverted) abilities. This, however, begs one question. Should we sing songs to God? The Apostle Paul thought so! Music is an important part of worshipping God. . . . speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them (Acts 16:25).

Camaro Kaiser You take this shit serious, god is in the dictionary with small letters, Allah is capped. I used god to express all people believe in god or gods and feel their gods presence in their life. Just because you do not have that capacity to feel a gods presence you get mad at me. Come on man, you more smarter than that. Say i am delusional in my belief, and you have the proof that there is no god or gods, why get angry at me you should smugly smile to youself live a peaceful life and leave us delusional fools alone.

@@darrellmuhammad6079 the Civil Rights act of 1964 is a product of one of MLK's marches. No bill has been passed because of the Nation of Islam's march(es).

The Nation Of Islam is more interested in restoring the Identity and Image of The Black Man and Black Woman, saving our families, education, and being a productive and righteous people rather than begging white legislators to pass a bill. If a bill is passed that is in our favor that's fine. However it was never our intention to petition for a bill. It was to awaken us to the time, and what must be done! I have never met a person who has gone to a march called by the Nation Of Islam and they didn't get Inspired to do something productive.

@@darrellmuhammad6079 still they have not done anything to improve the lives of black people in America. Their main focus is to preach the Gospel of hate. How many black businesses have they helped get funding? How many black men and women have they helped get education that would get them jobs in Silicon Valley and Wall Street?

This garrulous gump, how can hip ho[p artists be Gods when the main strain of their music is self destruction and the division of young black families. This Wesley person is not educated enough too discuss these topics on a direct manner. He puts on his daisy skirt and skips around the garden in Mary Jane Shoes..There is a rapper (I love) brother Kam in the West coast is definitely representing NOI.. It is a difference to speaking with people and people adhering to his practice.. Farrakhan is not spiritual guidance he is that fire that lights you up to get something done
