Which changed version of the word do u lawless pagans use to push your will as gods on men? U can't even keep the basic commandments and set your selves up as gods to have men bow to your devils!!! U r no judge of the Hebrew faith to teach any if it's precepts!!! U r the synagogue of satan, the blind leading the blind led by the blind!!! I won't guide you, you can die in your ways, as the law dictates for liars!! The Mormons are the prophecied Ephraim and Israel is the prophecied Judah and they need to be intertwined through authority, as prophecied by a son of David as their mediator to correct their paths and bring the law in this dispensation to it's fullness. The rest of you are just shit left over from 2000 years of corrupting truth!! You know two prophecies of hundreds and u call yourselves prophets and gods above the will of HaShem!!! I died because of you!!! You will suffer that death if I judge it is the only way to save your children!!! Jebus never saved you, u obey each other's partial teachings and lies. You practice two of thousands of precepts!! Your god is men!!

@cindybin2001Amen to your words! These two vipers usually pick the young and unprepared, and then try to overwhelm them with the scriptures they have rehearsed to impress their audience. They would never do this with someone who's experienced and prepared with reasons they believe the way they do. I'm sure if they come up with someone who can answer their rehearsed scriptural pomposity then they would edit them or just not show it. I liken these two to modern day Pharisees. Unwilling to allow God out of the confines of the bible. Even if Christ Himself came today and introduced doctrine not covered in the confines of the bible they would reject it because it isn't in the bible. And even in the confines of the bible they interpret the bible according to their agenda not according to what is actually true. God isn't confined by man's limitations on Him. In all actuality we know relatively very little about Him who governs all things. Matt13:11 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. What would all those Mysteries of the kingdom of heaven be? Is all to be known about God confined in the canon we call the bible? We know the answer to that since the bible speaks many times of the mysteries of God. So how can anyone cut down anothers doctrine because very little is said about it in the bible. Isa55:8-9 8 ¶ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. God is the Giver of all truth, and to trust man's interpretation of any scripture is foolishness. All people who worship, Desire to worship the true and living God. So why not allow all men the same privilege let them worship how where or what they may. This is why I go back to the advice of Gamaliel in Acts5:38-39.

@Keliiyamashita

Not all of the scripture is literal! His point is if you read ancient texts, they have similar writing styles. If you study Ugartic, Canaanite, and Mesopotamian texts, there are similarities with the Old Testament texts. He’s using scholarship. What’s more confusing is that he’s using agnostic thought to prove his points. Strange indeed. For example, almost all religious people, ancient and modern, will write and sing that that their god is the greatest. It makes sense right. So this Mormon guy is applying this to the Old Testament prophets. King David writes in the Psalms, “there is no one like you!” But other kings from other lands would say the same thing about their gods. So...... who’s right? The agnostic would say they are all wrong. Dr. White makes a distinction about the god of the Bible not being created. As if that really matters. In the eyes of an agnostic, the originator of the god of the Bible made that god have no creational origin. One says they were born from a seed, one from cosmic milk. Another from the dead carcass of another deity. One says here god was never created. But again, they are all stories. This Mormon was dipping into the agnostics bags of tricks. Once again, confusing.

@@Keliiyamashita yeah absolutely with you on literal context. This biblical text is literal and pretty sure there isn't any wriggle room here to argue when looking at the original Hebrew. Right? He uses these other texts to support that other gods also used infinite existence. In both examples there is no explanation the original language so it's a weak point in any event but let's pray the holy spirit can show him the truth.

Not to mention Ra is the son of Nut (sky goddess) who was created out of the thoughts of Ptah (a primordial demiurge god)... so unless Ra created his own grandfather and mother, Ra isn't even the creator of all things according to the Egyptians themselves... :-\ But Egyptian mythology changed so much based on who's local area was in power and what god was primarily worshiped there. Whereas, the Israelites didn't have such quibbles/issues... "My YHWH is more powerful than... Your YHWH?" This isn't to say that Ra didn't BECOME the supreme powerful god in Egyptian mythology, but he certainly didn't start that way... maybe some cults thought of him in such a way, but they'd have to deny what was previously said about Ra in order to rectify what they believe... hey... that sounds precisely like what Kwaku was doing... Hmmm... I think the point that James White and Jeff Durbin may have been trying to make is that even if the Egyptian or Canaanite or whatever ancient near eastern religion you look to make claims or use phrases similar to the Bible, that doesn't mean those claims are compatible with each respective religion (i.e. gods created or coming to being while the rest of the universe/creation is already here are quite different than YHWY). The case of Ra is easily refuted by what I brought up, above. I'm sure James White has done more research than I have (or Kwaku has), given his level of scholarship. However, even my cursory understanding of the topic makes me pretty sure of Kwaku's bias. P.S. I don't think Kwaku was taking the Egyptian texts as literal. I believe his point was "phrases like that were the 'in' thing to say, back then, about your god(s). However, that didn't mean that it WAS literal, in terms of how we English speakers understand such statements." He was arguing against the literal interpretation of the Bible, for that passage, because the Egyptian texts aren't to be taken literally, but I think he got lost in trying to disagree with everything James and Jeff had to say. smh

When witnessing to Mormons I usually begin with Genesis in the garden of eden where God tells Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I then take them to the very next chapter where Satan comes and speaks to Eve and Eve tells the serpent that God said not to eat of that tree for the day they do they will surely die. And then i ask them, what did the serpent respond? And I have them read where the serpent answers "you shall not die". And I say. So what did God say and what did Satan say? God said, you shall surely die (Gen 2:18) yet Satan said "you shall surely not die" (Gen 3:4). And I ask them, what is that called what Satan did there? God said yes you shall surely die and Satan said no you surely wont die? What is that called? A contradiction. And then i say, from here on out, that has been the devil's plan: to contradict God's word. And Satan wants ppl not to trust God's word. He wants them to trust his word. And that's exactly what you see in mormonism. You see them not trusting God's word, but Satan's word which is a fabrication of God's word. And that's also exactly what every other religion/cult/belief system that has their own book does. They contradict God's word.

Certainly, all of the info provided by Dr. White and Durbin is excellent, but I am disappointed that Jeff Durbin departed from his role as moderator. What Durbin contributed is excellent, but Dr. White is fully capable of debating anyone in a fair and scholarly fashion. Again, I believe what Durbin stated is all correct. Im a Christian & I appreciate a lot of what Dr. White does. I'm in a extensive time of witnessing & sowing seed & watering the true Gospel to 3 mormons right now. I totally disagree with mormonism but one thing I must say, @ the 2 hour mark the conversation is about predestination, on this point I disagree with Dr. Whites perspective concerning predestination. In the book of Romans it says we are predestined "to be conformed to the image of Christ", this doesn't mean the holocaust was predestined by God, holocaust was foreknown by God, & man Is a free will being & man carried it out but it wasn't preplanned/predestined by God, neither was any other utterly detestable sin you can name including sex trafficking & all the others. God is able to use the sins committed by mans free will & satans manipulation to lead a person to a place of ripe & willing submission to him and then the person still has to choose to reach out & receive the free gift. Even the hardening of pharaohs heart was after he continued to harden his own heart multiple times, God only hardened his heart after he continued to harden his own. God knew by foreknowledge that pharaoh would harden his heart. God didnt predestine child molestation but he knew it would come into the world through mans free will choice of disobeying him. God declares the END from the begining, that doesnt mean that he plans the evil in between, it only means that the evil in between wont stop his ultimate goal from being accomplished.

He believes that we human beings do not have a free will. God predestines us to do evil and then He holds us accountable for the bad things that He has made us do.

I also like Dr. White as a personality in general. He does turn me off when he starts speaking in Greek, or uses his age as if that strengthens his arguments. I've seen a lot of his material, and over the years he consistently misrepresents or misunderstands the Mormon perspective. Mormons and traditional creedal Christianity differ in our beliefs of the creation. Mormons do not believe that the creation came from nothing. That is impossible since matter can not be created or destroyed. We don't believe God was created, or that He was derived from the creation as Dr. White claimed around the 11:00 minute mark.. We believe God has always been. We also believe that when God created, it is to be understood that He formed, and organized matter. He did not create matter out of nothing. Matter also has always been. Dr. White argues that God pre-exists matter, and Mormons would say, that is impossible since matter can not be created from nothing, therefore it has always been. God is the same age as matter - without beginning or end. I don't want to throw a wrench in, or confuse the argument, but another truth that seems it must be said at this point is that God is also made of matter. There is no such thing as immateriality. Matter is the only thing that exists. The absence of matter is space or nothingness. Mormons would say Dr. White believes in a God of nothing - which isn't that far from what a lot of Christians say themselves. A genderless God, without body, without passion, without parts, without form. They basically describe nothing, and then assign that description to God. Dr. White is just following the Nicene, Athanasian, and Apostles creeds - which he uses to incorrectly interpret the bible. Thanks for reading, hopefully I didn't offend too much, which of course is always a risk.

@mr400meter
@mr400meter 6 жыл бұрын
A tougher question is on a clear contradiction from Joseph Smith in Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 where he says God the Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangle as man's. But we know in John 4:21-24, Jesus discredits that claim about God the Father that he is (according to King James Bible which works for the sake of this argument too) "a spirit." Spirits are not material beings. In fact, in Luke 24:35-39, we see Jesus appearing to his disciples. They freak out. Jesus responds by saying, "“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for *a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have*.” ‭‭So we now have a truth claim by the Lord Jesus Christ regarding what a spirit does not have: flesh and bones. It's Jesus' words against Joseph Smith's words. Jesus wins 100% of the time.

Eternity is not a never ending stretch of time but rather is an existence outside of the constraints of time. Thus when there was an existence of God when He was inside the constraints of time He was not God, but ever since He progressed to a existence outside of time He has always been God. It's a difficult concept for people to grasp, especially if they don't understand the nature and patterns of God.
@mr400meter
@mr400meter 6 жыл бұрын
But that means God has a beginning. He began to be God when he went outside time. Not to mention, the only eternal things in Latter Day Saint theology are intelligences and matter. They preexisted without ever having been created.
@scottb4509
@scottb4509 6 жыл бұрын
No! This means that, like God, we did not have a beginning either. We are not ex nihilo created beings. Our bodies were formed from the dust of the Earth, the Earth was formed from eternally existence elements. Our spirits were formed from the spiritual material the spiritual world was formed from and the spiritual world was formed from eternally existent spiritual elements. thus no matter how from back in our formation you go we were always existent in one form or another. the process of our "creation" as mentioned in the scripture is that God provided the pattern and process and aid as to how eternal elements con combine to make spirits and bodies that eventually become a self existent eternally perfect spirit and resurrected immortal body, just as Jesus Christ was the example for us to follow. God's title as God may have had a beginning, but God as the elements that make up His being had no beginning. and if you go even deeper than that you could ask what are those inteligences and elemental matter. They are the yin and yang of energy they are that which acts and that which is acted upon. they are the elements that make up both material things as will as the information embedded withing those things. In short intelligence is the eternal laws of Godliness and the matter is the storage for that information to be put to use. Our spirit and our body are nothing more than a collection of eternally existent particles all embedded with the eternal laws of Godliness in such a manner that they all work together to collectively achieve a more exalted degree of existence than the they could have attained separately. This is an underlying theme in the gospel of Christ, that we must all work together in harmony that all may be edified and uplifted together. Christ personified this pattern when He took upon Himself the responsibility of all of us and that is what exalted Him to the status of He is at now, which essentially is equality with the Father. The Father has achieved the highest degree of unity and harmony and obedience to eternal laws possible, and in doing so has perfectly embodied what it means to be godly, which means He now is 'self' existent. God relies on no other entity for His glory or power or salvation or progression. Through His agency He, as a collection of eternally existent particles, has learned how to perfectly obey and embody all eternal laws without fail, and this is what makes the collection of eternally existent particles 'self' existent. Jesus understood this completely and in subjecting Himself to those perfect eternal laws likewise became a self existent God like unto the Father and that is what it means to be one, in perfect harmony such that not one particle is out of step, or out of obedience to those eternal laws.

Loch Fred Yea, it's too bad that people couldn't read the Bible in it's obviously correct way until the 16th century, albeit by a rich man who wanted an excuse to show why the poor are going to hell, so that he didn't have to give charity with his money. I mean, it's not like Calvinism relies upon taking poorly interpreted verses (whose concepts are separated from the Greek text), and completely ignoring those passages that contradict it as "descriptive", and therefore not mattering in what they clearly say... Such a shame.

Loonytoones85 You misinterpreted what I said. I believe the Bible is the word of God. I'm saying that the Calvinists misinterpret the Bible, especially when the Greek text is taken into consideration. Just about all of their misinterpretations can be summed up as not taking into account the tense of the Greek verbs in those respective verses. Also, the misinterpretation of scripture from them is also shown when they have to preform eisegesis when the text (either in Greek or any language for that matter) is clearly going against the very principals of TULIP.

I feel bad for this young man, he walked into a staged den of vipers. When witnessing to pagan protestants, a testimony of two should be followed. Listening to these guys I am reminded why I escaped protestantism. Now I know that I am saved by Jesus. Now I understand what the Prophets and Apostles were talking about opening up the windows of Grace, salvation and Eternal life through Jesus Christ and His church upon our fallen world. Now I know that the false non biblical, un-Apostolic definition of the nature of God is the Nicene Creed. The fictitious fantasy of an ethereal, formless, genderless, immaterial God is incompatible with holy writ. When listening to protestants defend their views on what God is, I am reminded of what Paul read regarding the inscription on an altar in Athens at Mars Hill , 'To the Unknown God". Growing up a Methodist and having Baptist friends, an unknown God is all that is known on the nature of God. Among protestants in my personal experience, I haven't known of a more consistent bunch of self righteous, judgement declaring, damning sensationalists, follow the leader, hypocritical followers. All these so called "lovingly witnesses to", charades do nothing more than give food and fodder to the agnostics ,atheists and the endless variety of secularists to spread their cause while you piously shred and devour any common ground between the sundry Christian faiths. Among protestants, there is no unity of faith, no "one baptism", (some of the protestant sects don't even believe in baptism as essential let alone perform it the same), no perfecting of the saints. You all repetitively proclaim the scriptures are easily understood, clear, perfect without error and complete yet there is at least 30 thousand different versions of you all worshipping with little in common. Protestants love showing their sanctimonious relationship with the Bible declaring "the Bible says!!" Yet i see churches all across America who claim to take every single precept from The Holy Bible fill their marquee boards with unbiblical church names, or names after saints or prophets. Isn't it Jesus Christ's church? Shouldn't it be named after the master and author of the Gospel and our salvation? Protestants have no structure, no authority and no priesthood. But declare they will dividing and conquering all of Christianity wearing sheep's clothing. How do the protestants define the Bible to be complete? How many references to lost scriptures are there in the Bible that the Catholics put together? Hint: several. Can't add or take away from the Bible? Protestants already did away with Deuterocanonical books. If there is one branch of Christianity that walked closer to that line of idolatry, it would be these protestants, seemingly worshipping the Bible, Biblia-dolatry. The Bible says this and the Bible says that. Don't pay any mind that it's actually written by Prophets and Apostles, individuals, as moved upon by the Holy Ghost to teach a specific audience. Protestants, not anyone inspired within the Bible that declared holy writ closed and that God's word to his children is finished. Protestants, self appointed representatives of God , are modern day doctrinal defining Sadducees. I will continue to witness to protestants and thank my Heavenly Father for breaking me loose from the clutches of modern day, watered down Christainity. Calling me and leading me to His Holy Son and saving me From a brand of Christianity that doesn't know what the correct nature of God is, or what our relationship is to our Father in Heaven and what He has planned for us as Co-inheritors with Christ who created all, even worlds without number.

The Bible has quite different things to say about priesthood. First, the Aaronic priesthood was limited to Jewish male members from the tribe of Levi who were descendants from Aaron (Ex. 28:1; Num. 3:5-13; Heb. 7:5). The priesthood was inherited by descent from Aaron, not received through ordination. It was never supposed to be practiced by Gentiles (non-Jews). There is absolutely no teaching about this doctrine of the Aaronic priesthood being practiced by Gentiles in the Old or New Testaments. Furthermore, the Aaronic priesthood was done away with through Christ as the final priest (Heb. 7:11-12) who fulfilled the Law as the eternal Priest (Heb. 7:11-28; 8:6-7ff). The Old Testament priests were mediators, but now Jesus is the only Mediator between men and God (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 7:24-25; Jn. 14:6). Therefore, there is no need for this Aaronic priesthood authority today. Finally, the High Priest in the Old Testament would enter the holy of holies once a year to make a sacrifice for sins of himself and others (Ex. 30:10; Heb. 9:7, 19-22). However, Jesus completed the work of salvation by being the High Priest and the sacrifice (Heb. 3:1; 9:11-12, 25-26)! Since Christ's work is finished (John 19:30), there is no need for a High Priest on this earth. Christ is the only mediator and High Priest in heaven (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 8:1-6). Melchizedek Priesthood Second, there is absolutely no mention in the entire Bible about a special class of Melchizedek priests. Melchizedek is mentioned briefly in the Old Testament in two places (Gen. 14:18-20 and Ps. 110:1). In Genesis 14, Melchizedek is a king and priest who blesses Abraham and to whom Abraham gives tithes. Psalm 110, a royal Messianic Psalm, applies this priesthood of Melchizedek to Jesus who is also a priest and king (cf. Matthew 22:44; 26:64; Mark 16:19; Heb. 5:5-6). However, nowhere in the Old or New Testaments do we see the practice of ordaining males to the office of the Melchizedek priesthood. Jesus alone is mentioned in the New Testament as a priest after the order of Melchizedek (Heb. 5:1-4ff). The Priesthood of All Believers Instead, the Bible teaches that all believers have priesthood authority (1 Peter 2:5, 9; Rev. 1:6; 5:10; 20:6). Even in the Old Testament, the nation of Israel was to be a kingdom of priests (Ex. 19:5-6). However, Jesus is the unique High Priest (Heb. 7:23-8:13). Each believer has the authority to preach the Gospel, baptize, and govern the kingdom of God on this earth. It is not something that is limited to males who are above the age of 12 or 18.

You guys got p-owned on the divine determinism = sovereignty mistake. That kid whooped on you so bad... that's why Dr. W had to say "I have studied this more than you" (and that means I am correct) fallacy. Even a child could see this as false. You also totally did not let him speak and then accused him of not listening, which is about as classy as sin. I loved Dr. Flowers video that showed how awful this kid made you guys look. You may want to delete all these videos. The "no purpose" if God didn't cause/ordain all evil is so utterly stupid, I can't believe you can get away with it.

Mormon religion is almost as entertaining as Marvel Comics! One of my favorite childhood super heroes was "Thor, the God of Thunder" whose Father is Oden and brother is Loki, the God of Mischief. These are more modern ideas of fantasy gods than ancient Egyptian gods (whom the God of Israel triumphed over during the Exodus). However, the idea is the same. "Ra" is a demon god of the ancient world like Baal, Moloch, and many, many others occult deities. Polytheism is, by definition, very imbued with the occult. Kwaku El is a young man who has been blinded by false doctrine promoted by demons. Joseph Smith's visions are very similar to an angel of Light which is actually a minister of Satan (Paul's warning in the NT). The deception here is very deep... and very much of the Evil One!

The reference to Deuteronomy at 1:24ish is from Deuteronomy 4:2 & it specifically states not to add or subtract from the Torah (the instructions/commands the Lord gave at Sinai). This passage is NOT referring to biblical books, but rather to the everlasting instructions the Lord gave His people for all of time. This Scripture was taken completely out of context by Kwaku. Not sure if it was this video or the previous, but talking about Joseph Smith as a "prophet" and letting the Spirit confirm this is actually not biblical either. Deuteronomy 13 is the "False Prophet" test, and it is anyone who commands the people to turn away from any of the Lord's instructions/commands. That is virtually ALL that Joseph Smith & Mormonism teach.

Right so I’m a Christian and I don’t have time to be eloquent. A bunch of people in these comments are completely dismissive and seem to be the kind of Christians who don’t have their views tested as often as enforced. That’s fine. But don’t blame the kid for having doubts. If he met anyone in this comment section, he’d have a reason to doubt. Telling lies and insulting or outright belittling this guy is not the way to help people find God. He made a good point: after a 3-5 minutes rant from the first Christian, he opened his mouth for 5 seconds. In fact, they didn’t ever let him finish a point and wouldn’t stop talking until each point they made was finished entirely. It’s hypocrisy, it’s rude, it’s the opposite of grace, and it might get clicks here but I doubt our father is looking down saying “yeah, that was handled well”

As much as I love Dr. White and Jeff I think that it is fruitless to argue with non believers in this way because it is trying to showing a logical arguement showing Christ as Truth when we know by scripture it is foolishness to the unbeliever and it is only the preaching of the WORD that can change the heart of someone like this young Mormon you cannot out think him or present him with an arguement that will make enough sense that it will win him to faith in the true Christ. It says we are to give a defense for the hope that is in us and I applaud you both because you did another masterful job of being humble and giving a sobering logical response to Kwaku but it is the fragrance of death to those who are not saved.

I watched the whole debate and although interesting i found it so painful listening to Kwaku. He was trying to be like Dr James and Jeff with his dialogue but without the Grace and knowledge and unfortunately didn't answer the questions most of the time. His tactics were very much smoke and mirrors and evade the answers, this he did very well. For such a young man I found him very disrespectful of both Jeff and Dr White. It was like listening to an ill informed student trying to correct his lecturers on a subject that he didn't know much about.

No one is blind like one who will not see. If Mormons cannot see the blasphemy of what they're saying, it's almost pointless to witness to them. All who truly seek the truth will find it. And you don't determine truth by a burning in the bosom. That is a psychological trick.

Be careful with that argument because if you look closely at Christianity, you will find that the Jews claimed blasphemy when Christ, a man, claimed to be equal with God.

It quickly becomes evident that young guys like Kwaku haven't actually read or properly interacted with the sources or scholarship they are using. Or actually taken the time to learn Greek and Hebrew like James and Jeff actually have. Especially when it comes to original context, Church Fathers, etc. You don't even need to be a Calvinist or Presup to dismantle this guy's views.

Wow. Well the issue definitely with cults and false gospels is that they do not see scripture (Genesis-Revelation) as a closed canon. And they neglect the understanding as to why its so important to understand it as such. Even within the church this is issue in charismatic groups.

It’s a shame that White and Durbin don’t use a presuppositional defense of the faith and an exposing of the internal foolishness of his worldview. When you debate text you’re stooping down to exegetical evidentialism. Each side is simply going to reinterpret the texts of their opponents according to their worldview and presuppositions and ultimately it goes nowhere. You must expose their presuppositions

There is a major area Kwaku is having trouble understanding. Yes hyperbole was used in writings during that prior in Middle Eastern regions. However here is a good example of what he is missing. Each of the plagues in Exodus was an attack on specific Egyptian gods (Hapi, Heket, Geb, etc.). Each plague challenged what Egyptians believed each god had control over. What the plagues showed was the mighty power of God over all 10 plagues. As each plague happens, each plague is countered with a minute amount of power compared to God’s almighty power, with final plagues having no response from Egyptian gods. Pretty much he is showing they worship 10 gods that can barely do what you worship them to do, while God can do all 10 with incredibly more power. Kwaku, you fail to see who God is. God often challenged other peoples gods through his prophets to show his infinite power. That he can do anything for why a different god was being worshiped to the ultimate. He wasn’t even created like these gods. So he showed time and time again he is a God of infinite power, the ultimate creator, has no beginning or end. While other near eastern cultures spoke in hyperbole to build up their gods, similar hyperbole was used in the Hebrew Old Testament to show that He actually is the hyperbole. This is what your missing.
