Great Job. I did the same few months back. But I did leave the old steering bearing shells, so I just removed them and put the new one. Came in quite nice, but the guys in the shop did not clean the frame well around the oil drain bolt, so i had to resort to the same thing you did -> paint some parts myself.

It is nice idea to leave bearing inside its socket, but I was afraid that pulling out the bearing may damage the powder coat around the bearing socket. But good to know it isn't so harmful :)

Is RAL 5005 Signal Blue the orginal color, as i want to get the local auto parts store to make a pressue back so i can just touch up some areas on the frame

I notice you didn't do anything to the motor at all?

We only fixed problem with shift drum bolt, nothing more. We planned to rebuild this engine, but luckily it looks like it is in good shape :D

All that crud went into the oil tank.

We tried to be careful during paint grinding. Before assembly we flushed frame with gasoline, let it to evaporate, we used some compressed air and then we flush frame with engine oil :)
