You hit at people looking at you. And don't hit at people looking the same direction.. aaaand make a shit ton of mistakes 😅

Formations make everything easier. If you are in one, you know whos your friend. And thanks to flags you can identify the enemy formations. Of course one has to know if your opposing formation is actually hostile, at least for me there was some confusion during this battle. Especially when youre manning a siege engine (im the one at around 1:30 in bright green pushing my small ballista) then you wouldnt want to shoot at anyone without being sure that youre supposed to shoot them. But at least i took out a golem.
