Ridiculous, Ebyssian's been purified two times, once by Huln Highmountain through via the Hammer of Khaz'goroth and twice by Wrathion through via the Potion of Mental Charity with the help from the champions and he's permanently purified.

It really has always been. Not all of the writing is bad, but it's definitely cliche after cliche, with shallow characters, trite themes, and so on. Almost every cutscene tries too hard to be "epic," with "profound" dialogue that ends up being anything but. But like I said, that's not always bad. It has a place, and it fits in an MMO a good part of the time. But WoW really needs to hire some writers who can create more complex characters instead of fumbling attempts at moral grayness mixed with on-the-nose moral messaging.

I mean since they actively destroyed the character that is wrathian, and they made sabellion an idiot then yeah you're left with ebyssian, who is honestly going to be an absolutely shitty aspect. He has pretty much no experience actually leading. He has never actually done any leading on high mountain he always was an advisor and never actually led them. Add to this the fact that even his advice is normally just platitudes not actual advice or good information. They shoehorned him into this position without building up a good reason for him to be aspect. They pretty much were like here are your three options and we've made two of them so shitty that this bad one becomes the obvious good one. Honestly none of the three of them should be aspects, The only way any of them are good is having the story just force them to be good at it. I personally think that if they had actually given wrathion enough time to grow he would have been the better one. The problem he has is he's a child, now if they had used literally any of the time travel shenanigans that they're going through and had him have been stuck in a alternate timeline in the past and forced to grow up for one or two centuries, then I think he would have actually grown out of a lot of the problems that he has. Abyssian has not grown out of literally any of his, and obviously sa bellion isn't going to grow out of his. Both of them are very old. So I can't look at this and be like ooh that's really cool. To me this was a really bad story, that could have been good but they didn't want to take the effort.

They made Sabellian and Wrathion rather unlikable this xpac with the story that it made it to where it was obvious or forced to be Ebyssian and I really don't care for Ebyssian. He's rather Dull to me. So it instead makes me rather not care at all about that whole storyline or elements. Also just mixed in with weird dialogue.

This is exactly my problem. It's not that ebyssian is a good choice it's that they actively made the other choices absolutely horrible. Pretty much from the first time I talked to either of them at the beginning of the expansion I was like oh they're trying to destroy these characters to make somebody else look good. And then as soon as we got to him I was like oh this is their choice for aspect why have they spent three expansions trying to pretend like they had a different idea. I would have much preferred they spent those three expansions giving us an actual character for ebyssian. Pretty much all he was for dragonflight was a platitude talking machine. He doesn't have actually good ideas but he's very good at making what he says sound good. The sad part for me is this is one of the best written expansions they've had and I honestly think it's dog shit. Which is pretty much just pointing out the fact that they're previous expansions have been even worse so we're on an upswing and we're still way below where we should be.

That's not the point. Honestly, Ebyssian has more experience leading with maturity and recognizing conflict is unnecessary than both of his younger brothers combined.
