I would say as a guy this is how I gage anyone I am looking to interact with is ask open ended questions. If they give a long drawn out answer that's a great sign bc it means they are engaged. If they give one word answers not so much. Also don't ask generic questions like what do you do for work etc. Though if they are giving one word answers could be the questions you're asking or it's about things they are not interested in. Though always asking about the person and sprinkle in interesting tid bits/facts about you. Best of luck if you are dating.
