The Mauser C96 is a WWI weapon that was designed for Cavalry officers originally. the idea was to have something light and portable. unfortunately, people learned quite quickly that cavalry tactics with horses didn't work as well in the age of the Machine gun and trench warfare. so while it was used, it was soon given to other units and wasn't specifically a cav weapon. but yes, its just a pistol with a rifle stock. guns were in short supply so that had to get innovative. but its so cool in a way on its own because of it being a WWI gun and such an oddity. gotta love the experimental pieces. one of my favorite WWI pieces is what was hatefully termed by the Germans as Der Shulterbrecker or the Shoulderbreaker. it was a sized up mauser infantry rifle that was introduced to counter the first tanks and is officially the first anti-tank rifle ever. the joke was that you could only fire it twice because you only had two shoulders. that's how bad the recoil was. and it was so massive that they had to work in a crew of two. one to fire and one to reload.

Mocking a C96 is a brave move! They were a pivotal gun in gun design and development, being popular in Europe, then in China. In fact, during the Warlord Period, the C96 was copied immensely, and a bit of a status symbol if you had a "good" one.

To more easily work on the smaller parts when disassembling the guns you can hold down the "ctrl" key to highlight all the pieces , or click the leftover individual pieces found in the assembly table

My brain hurts looking at that M4 but I get it, you've never been a gun guy. Watching this makes me want to tag my favorite AK maker guy on the twitters. I wouldn't mind more episodes of this as the custom making seems a little bit in depth as well as the cleaning. It's a UK dev just by seeing how they list their part names (looking at you silencer) but it's forgiveable.

Legally it's a silencer, all the laws, and patents call it that. Function is irrelevant to that. But yes I admit it doesn't literally silence

There is a barrel length per round and propellant, the length gives the round enough revolutions to make the round fly through the air straighter and further, gravity plus the spin of earth wind and distance all those variants that's why barrels for hunting rifles are longer than a small caliber weapon.

You should definitely try to collect all of the guns in your safe. Make enough money to purchase them and fully mod them and then get all of the guns in your collection. That's what I did.

Ok i can give some advise on the gun. Instead of placing that foregrip all the way on the back, place it closer cause you are not gonna strech your self like you are trying to get a key through a gap, place it closer so you can grip it and can function, another thing is longer barrel means more range so this gun should be build for medium range, not close range. If barrel was compact where is would be less that 1/3 of the size then yes put a red dot on, otherwise i would say a ACOG would fit it better cause of how the gun is built with longer barrel and stuff. Also the grip could be something else for medium range fighting but its not the worst. Next time how ever go on the shooting range and see how it performs before putting on the attachments to see what improvements gun needs cause putting what ever on is not gonna make gun much usefull for situations it was meant for
