Very interesting. Videos like this are always so educational to me. I've never seen a yoder shoeing stock before. Great invention

Apart from the farriers difficulty isn't it a good thing the hoof walls are so hard? Especially for a draft?

Your horse has some good feet on him and the farrier does a good job to keep it that way. Shoeing stocks may make the work more comfortable for the farrier, but can be a problem for the horse.

I am new to your site and I have enjoyed living vicariously thru you. I am a city girl, so I was happy to have found you as I have always been interested in mules. You seemed to love yours which made it that much more special for me. Now I see that you no longer have them. I've gone back to try to find out what happened and why you decided to part ways with two animals after stressing that "trust" is so crucial in the mule/human relationship. I'm not judging or criticizing, just wanting to understand. Btw...is it true that mules will protect livestock from predator attacks? Wishing you all the best!

@@tangormley Tawana thank you so much for the question. The answer is a lengthy one and what I’ve decided to do is make a video answering it and post this week. You made me realize that if you’re new to the channel then you don’t understand and know the journey. I think it will benefit many other than yourself to make better sense of it all. I hope you will stay tuned to see it on Thursday. Thx for watching and giving me a good video topic! Dave

@@tangormley and yes they are extremely territorial over livestock. They will kick, bite and kneel down on a predator. Typically donkeys are the protectors but since a mule is half donkey they definitely get that trait. Mine absolutely hated dogs and would attack anytime one came near
