Draft preview time - Reid or bust? | AFLW girls prelim bound!

The AFL draft is only a week away - who will we be taking?
Reid? McKercher? Duursma? Wizard Watson? Surely not Curtin.... I discuss my thoughts on what we should do and what I think we WILL do.
Plus, an update on the AFLW as the girls win through to the preliminary final!

If we draft away valuable draft capital to get hold of Reid North has rocks in its head. Picks 2 and 3 are gold and I love the quality that I suspect Duursma and McKercher will bring to North. I even think one or both of those players could prove to be better than Reid. The 3 later first round picks are valuable and shouldn't be frivolously traded away. I'd be okay to trade two of them for Geelong's #8, but only if O'Sullivan is still on the board to fill a clear list need. We shouldn't go near Ollie Murphy who is slow with poor agility and has below average jumping ability based on his combine test results. He'd get eaten alive in the AFL. I'd also like us to pick Mitch Edwards who could become an absolute ruck star in he future. His draft combine test results were excellent and he is a strong mark. Goad would be second preference to him and Green's test results weren't that great. I'm just not sure Clarko would be prepared to use a late first round pick on a ruck. North will never have a better chance to set itself up for a quick rise up the ladder over the next few years by building on last year's great haul.

Agree re the draft. And I think North will go for defenders and rucks with 15, 17, 18. Trading for pick 1 is fraught with danger. I will be very happy if we get McKercher and Duursma. I am also very upbeat about Arie Schoenmaker.
