I think reprive is a couple picks ahead of remand, since white generally can use that effect better, white is a better color, and it gets around delighted halfling
@eggu18283 ай бұрын
Reprieve is obviously stronger than remand, but blue decks generally more likely to be draw-go style when white decks are more likely playing creatures, and reprieve can be a bit awkward if you are not in a clear winning position. So you can't be wrong with remand, but can be wrong with reprieve sometimes, though they are very close

Genuine question: if Squee, Hogaak, Survival, the madness creatures, etc are always the last 4-5 picks, why are people not drafting madness/graveyard decks? Is VCube not self-correcting in this way, or is the archetype so bad that it can't make up the difference in having a wide open deck? Rewatch the first pack, you just pass this insane graveyard deck with three on-color lands and Copter/Grist, Seasoned Pyro, Wayfinder to bin Phoenix, Gak, Vengevine, Squee, Anger and can close with a Pyrogoyf... Not trying to say you should have drafted it, just showing an example of what is getting passed to explain my confusion.
@monsoon12345678903 ай бұрын
Because compared to the field, those decks are slow, clunky, and require playing cards that are individually underpowered. There's also an insane number of main deck graveyard hate cards in this cube. If I could draft a deck with Squee, Hogaak, Survival as guaranteed 46-48th picks, I would still draft something else.
@traycarrot3 ай бұрын
@@monsoon1234567890 I didn't think about the grave hate, I'd have to look at the numbers to see how incidental it is. I get it is underpowered, though. A follow-up question is if a deck is so underpowered and clumsy, hated so easily, and takes up so many slots, what the fuck are these cards doing in the cube for three months?
@TaisxD3 ай бұрын
The deck is parasitic as hell AND takes multiple pieces to function. And even when it's wide open, it's not on par for the strongest strategies.
@traycarrot3 ай бұрын
@@TaisxD What does parasitic mean in this context? I'm not familiar with it.
@LSVargas3 ай бұрын
The deck mostly sucks is why. You can get every card for it and it still won’t necessarily be good, so it’s a bad idea to go into it usually.

@philreske36053 ай бұрын
that u didnt even start
@LSVargas3 ай бұрын
Really easily
@Jingoa3 ай бұрын
The deck's more tempo than full control. Deploys cheap little threats and bounces theirs. Seedshark is better in a deck with hard counters and artifact mana, which we didn't have any of at all. Commando's a versatile threat you can deploy while sitting in remand/reprieve and cheap removal. Would have been a house against a big artifact mana deck but we didn't need it.
@ei94433 ай бұрын
He had so many 3drops, no artifact synergies and only one free spell (snuff out) to get more value from seedshark. Then again not so much answers to artifacts or enchantments. So definitely right pick there. I personally do love seedshark though! I think lsv had a season about a year ago where he played seedshark alot and it was good too. But back then artifact -theme had much more support in cube, and the cube was a bit slower also.
@philreske36053 ай бұрын
@@LSVargas There's no way lingering souls is better than seed shark in this deck. Seed shark is an engine on it's own. The high end is higher than souls and a solid blocker in the case your behind. I'd love to see BK chime in on this one 😇😇😇 Who has his handle?

Wouldn't you have died against 1st opponent in game 2, if you didn't kill the food token? You said opponent would've been able to deal 16dmg with sorin + zuran orb combo. But I was counting 9 lands for 18dmg total plus 3 life/damage from the food, if you didn't kill it before for exactly lethal

First opponent's deck looked like total junk and one of the worst I've seen in this channel. Top without any shuffle effects, Tendrils of Agony with a midrange mana curve, and zero actual broken cards. What was that drafter thinking?

Beza + Karakas seems like it's a lot more powerful than synergy-less Lingering Souls.
@bricelory95343 ай бұрын
I disagree, myself - the flexibility of Lingering Souls and lower curve is excellent for this sort of midrangey control deck. Karakas is great for Beza, but a 5 mana combo for the EtB just eats up too much mana for a deck that wants to keep up answers alongside its threats.
@itslevi003 ай бұрын
@@bricelory9534 It doesn't have a lower curve because it's not a curve play. You cannot spend your turn 3 putting two 1/1 fliers into play and expect to win. Basically every 2-drop in the format overpowers your 3-drop, that's like definitionally the opposite of curving out. I genuinely don't get how LSV is high on this card with no Skullclamp and no realistic GY/discard synergy. I'm pretty sure even an 18th land was better.
