Trump talking about Yugioh was pretty funny. Special Summons don't really transfer well into HS speak because in HS you can play any cards you want as long as you have mana. Yugioh doesn't have mana, so you get one Normal Summon every turn and that's it. Then there are cards that let you Special Summom to put extra stuff on board.

Special Summon kinda does translate into hearthstone because you have summon vs. play. Patches special summons itself from the deck, and Alarm-o-tron special summons things from your hand, while Savannah Highmane special summons tokens. You just also have infinite normal summons, so cards don't usually have special summon conditions.

You say they don't have summon conditions, but they do. As I understand, you just just said they both do and don't have special summon conditions. "Playing this pirate let's me special summon Patches from my deck." "At the beginning of my draw phase, Alarm-o-bot returns to my hand and lets me special summon a random minion from my hand, with their battlecries negated" "When Highmane dies, it let's me special summon 2 Hyenas." The conditions are playing a pirate, starting the turn with Alarm-o-bot, and Highmane dying. This can be said of most, if not all, cards that summon minions.

Sorry if I was unclear. In Yugioh a summon condition refers to a case that allows you to special summon a monster from your hand, like "If you control two zombies: you can Special Summon this card (from your hand)". A card like Patches would be special summoned by its own card effect (specifically a trigger effect), rather than having a summon condition, and thus could be stopped by a card that negates monster effects. The thing that comes closest in Hearthstone is probably Arcane Tyrant's condition to be summoned for free (ditto Happy Ghoul), but it still is a 'normal summon' because it triggers on play effects.

How are these comments about the title getting upvoted so much? This is the first time Trump used the Hearth Arena overlay which provides a detailed explanation why it would pick some cards over others. Basically you have Trump's explanation and Hearth Arena's explanation in this video so you as the viewer can make an educated guess as to who was right. What I am getting here is that if I change the title to "... - Is Trump Smarter Than the System?" then it would be fine? I usually ignore the comments about titles since it is not worth talking about but I am seriously confused here. ~ Jens

Maybe change the title to "Drafting with Hearth Arena Overlay" I really thought this was going to be Trump choosing whichever card Hearth Arena decided was best, particularly since in the last video Trump was randomly selecting cards for funzies. You say "Is the System Smarter than Trump" which made me think that Trump was going to choose Hearth Arena's picks and try to figure out if those choices gave him a higher winrate than what he would've selected. IMO, would make for a cool series, a kind of Turing's Test on whether Hearth Arena can out-predict Trump. The video's great, just as all your other videos, so no worries, it's just that the title was a tad confusing for me.

in the final game, was it not better to equip long bow and swing at face first, and then use unleash the next turn? This would have meant he'd have unleash the hounds and explosive shot to get through any taunts, as well as the other bow charge on the following turn. In this scenario the play would have followed: Turn 8: Trump: Gladiator's long bow face, hit face with bard, opponent has 7 life. Turn 8: Opponent: Trade a wolf into the 3/2 and play chain gang. Turn 9: Trump: Unleash the hounds for 3 1/1's, explosive shot one of the chaingangs, use 1 hound to finish the other one, and then he has the other weapon charge and 2 1/1's left to attack face for lethal. Not only would that play have won in this scenario, but i think it would also win in most other scenarios where a taunt was played, the only weakness of playing the bow first is weapon removal, but i don't think that's a big enough factor to make it a "risky" play

It's certainly the play I would have gone with. It's very bad against weapon removal, but beats pretty much everything else. I think unleash + hero power is the worst of the 3 plays.

Last game: turn 8 - you equip a long bow and hit face, opponent with 7 hp and have 2 wolves Than he probably trade one of them with 3/2 and play chaingang and another minion, now he has 4 minions Turn 9: you play doggos and shoot a minion in between the taunts for 5 mana or the taunt(if he placed the last minion not in the middle) Than you trade 2 doggos in those taunts and other 2 + your bow is lethal 7 dmg, you are welcome😊 Love

Krip always picks at least 2-3 cards different from the hearth arena suggestions. Picking a consistent deck definitely increases good draws and winrate, but it also does not take into account what other players would pick their cards and how to counter that. As well as what Krip has mentioned before: having a better average winrate is not as rewarding as having a lower average winrate but MORE 12 wins, because the rewards skyrockets past 9 wins.

So I actually think what happened was this... his original plan was to attack the 1/4 with his weapon the turn before which is what he should have done so he could kill the 3/1. He forgot to attack, but this turn he realized he could still kill the 1/4 with his weapon, but lapsed over the fact that this still leaves up the 3/1.

I tried it, got 2 wins, then 3 wins.. I usually get 4-9 wins just doing my own thing, rarely 12 too. The problem with it is it picks too many low cost cards I think.

Okay, this has to be said. He equips the bow attacks face and gets the enemy down to 7 HP. It is the most expensive card in his hand besides sleepy dragon. Next turn, the opponent will only play more minions, he has both explosive shot and unleash the hounds. He easily wins the game. Come on Trump, I learned from you to play the most expensive card first, so your next turn is more fluid

Asking if trump was smarter than the system would make it seem like he would do what he wanted, and get the "Ha! I told you so!" At the end. But asking if the computer was smarter than trump made it seem like he'd be unsure, do what the computer said, and end up winning, thus having the computer get the "I told you so!" This is the study of implications by text, usually learned in junior or senior year in high school, at least in Michigan. Asking a rhetorical question seriously makes it sound like a "yes", where a less serious manner, like sarcasm, would imply a "no."

Marc Shanahan it’s not just about scores. there are less obvious differences that matter in arena that a hard, linear system doesn’t pick up. In the end, it’s all on the player to decide what is best. (see rhokdelar, CLEARLY the shittiest pick against toggwaggle and hemet)

It's because hunter lacks in aoe and he may not get another chance to get some aoe and aoe is just good in arena in general. Although this system is smart it doesnt always recommend the best picks.
