Used to bend metal to custom weld (mostly aluminum). My shop had a hydraulic tube bender and they taught how to quickly find the angle with a special tool (this tool is homemade and easy to make). I would bend my first piece and write down the degrees to insure the next one is exact since the bender would electronically tell you want angle you are at. Makes life so much simpler.

Once you have a frame built you should build a jig so you just lay in your pipes clamp them and when all are in place start tack welding then do the full weld it would speed up your process 60-70%

hey , if you every deicide to actually drag race it. maybe think about road trip to symco wis. they drag race 125ft on clay track. last summer(august) they had 105 bikes and 5 classes. they make a hoosier tire with grooves cut in them for clay surface. Friday is a test day and Saturday race day. contact chris nelson Midwest 608 mini bike ,facebook.

Hey RB ,what are your powerplant ideas? And mph goals ..id say built 420 with huge slide carb. And if your gonna use a torque converter change the spring & weights on the driven pulley. No1 on KZbin does that even with built motors..

@jhitt79 5 жыл бұрын
Cheap or expensive tubing notcher, it doesn't matter. You should slide the part that holds drill arbor as close to the work piece as possible. You want as little deflection as possible.

Its kind of weird using a live axle on a mini bike. Usually on motorcycles your just spinning the wheel with the sproket and the bearings are in the wheel. Makes the frame design easier for the dropouts since you wouldnt have to incorporate the bearings. And less rolling mass.
@MRT_H
@MRT_H 5 жыл бұрын
I used a live axle setup on my quad engine mini bike. Works just fine. But I agree a standard motorcycle setup would make more sense.
