Yep, Everytime i hear "for the first time in drag race history" i know something bad is about to happen. Not once have i liked a twist or when they screw with things.

Piggybacking off of the point about Season 14's Rumix Lipsync being a double shantay, they also did this for Season 15 and I do not understand why. Even playing it up with "only 3 of you are going to the finale", when top 4 is the format they've done for a while now and having four performances by finalists instead of three just makes for a better episode. It's not even about who won the respective lipsyncs, if you want a top 4 or 5, just do that, and have it be a lip sync for the win. Don't double shantay something at the end like that, it's weird and doesn't need to happen.

i feel like the all stars 3 twist was always gonna be there so ru wouldn’t have to eliminate bebe, also if your not in the top and not in the bottom is probably what ruined AS5 and the kinda the later half of S6 cause of queens like Shea, Kylie, juju, Alexis and TKB getting screwed over

Also lipsync for the crown peaked the first time it happened. They’ve been pathetically trying to cling to it since and can’t hit where S9 did. Like it just looks desperate at this point and I’m ready for it to be gone for good lol

Of the lip sync for the crown lip syncs, 3 of the top 4 are from season 9 (IMO)

Top 5 finale is atrocious. You gotta be the best of the best but there's four other with you? Also, though the LSFTC doesn't work, the individual performances don't either, cause it's just a way for production to rig who they want to be the top 2, coincidentally the favorites in S14 and S15 give the best performances... but those who produce the songs have the power to make or break a performance. This is why Peppermint and Trinity made an alliance to pick each other for the LSFTC so the producers couldn't go for a Sasha and Shea finale like they wanted to. And that's the reason Aquaria and Eureka got a double shantay in the LSFTC, they wanted both of them at the finale.

I'm fine with how they used to do it and the finale just being for entertainment and a crowning. As you said making it a competitive episode doesn't work. Not only that but they make it the most important challenge so the rest of the competition becomes pointless. They realize that though so they try and cover for it like in All-stars 7. But all of it is completely unnecessary since they do it to themselves. All they have to do is let the season play out naturally and sit back but for some reason they can help themselves and have to do something dumb that no one enjoys.

I actually think the Double Win of AS4 was actually genius. The rushed aspect of it I think points to contentions between Ru and Production, where I believe Ru wanted Monet to win, where production wanted Trinity. At this point, all of the winners of All Stars were white, and the previous winner hadn’t had that high of a track record. AS4 of the Queens left, Trinity was a double finalist, proving she always had the talent, just couldn’t overcome the impact of Sasha and her roses. Monet had the better story and I know the Ru knew that. The splicing of the finale I think conveyed that conflict as the AS finales are filmed during the season, as opposed to the regular season finales that are filmed after the season airs. This is why the AS7 finale is particularly infuriating, and I think is an even bigger issue than the 3 stars at the end of the season and the random 2 given out. I’ve commented before and have pointed out that the biggest issue with the stars is that Production planned to give out one star per win, when they actually should’ve given out one for winning the episode and a second for winning the lipsync, to ensure that the Queens wouldn’t throw the lipsync to avoid the responsibility of blocking another Queen from stars. Had they don’t this instead of randomly giving out more stars, the Star count would’ve been more fair.

i despise "Queen comes back twist" it inevitable screws over a queen that has good track record and more importantly- was never eliminated . still bitter about trinity k bonet and eureka in as6

There are good ways to do it, but there needs to be a good reason and it needs to be at the right time. AS6 did it too late and screwed TKB, S3 did it at the right time but without justification, etc.

I have to wonder though. Was the jury twist in All Stars 3 just a way that the producers didn't have to give BeBe a second crown since she was already a winner and this was 4 seasons before All-Winners? They must have known that the eliminated queens probably wouldn't want to give BeBe a chance to win a second time. Shangela was just a casualty as she caused most of the eliminations and we got Trixie who deserved to be there but with Kennedy also who was the weakest out of all of them track record wise.

Um Carmen and Yara had one in s3 and in s4 PhiPhi and Sharon were saved when Willem was disqualified Morgan and Kylie almost got one too and there was on in s5 too

Not sure why they ever brought back Carmen back for season 3. In one episode, Santino even called her out for her “ I don’t care” attitude. Carmen didn’t bring much to the competition other than being a pretty face on an almost naked body on the runway
