Good editing and camera work showing the launch and then switching to end of track for top end! In car cams are pretty sweet too! 👍 I grew up at an 1/8th mile track, so I enjoy your vids!

Funnily enough it's not such a bad starting point... With the factory rails on it, proper chassis with a lift off body makes it easy to reinforce. Give you something to tie the roll cage into and tubbing the rear end is a breeze. Engine bay is a decent size for the vehicles overall dimensions as well

It still amazes me that you have guys who dive 6, 7, 8 second cars that on top of the multiple runs for a week straight, pulling trailers, and the road miles make it through drag week. I think drag week brings out the best in people be it their ability to tear a car down on the side of the road and fix it, to the ingenuity of a quick fix, to rebuilding transmissions in Holiday Inns hahahahahahahahaha.

It's mandatory, they have a route assigned by the Hot Rod staff that all the cars need to drive. There are stages where they have to stop and take photos of the driver and car along the way. If you look at the routes, they go through some small rural towns and 2 lane roads in Americas Heartland.

why do they run so many miles, then swim so many miles, then ride a bike so many miles? its a triathlon for dragstrip racers, like a BAJA 1000, but instead of tacos theres ice cream at the checkpoint ;) the tour de france of drag racing, instead of gatorade you got methanol and gasoline with a splash of diesel ;) The americas cup but with LAND yachts and horsepower instead of carbon fiberglass boats and wind power. i could go on and on here, lol.
