I'm the producer of this show, the host was the great Bill "Hergon" Hergonson, San Diego morning man legend. We're trying to get the whole show up on youtube if we can. Here's a bonus, this show was opened by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper with an insane rendition of Mushroom Maniac with a 5 Gallon Sparkletts bottle as his percussion instrument.

Greatest rock 'n roll shows I've been to were Beat Farmers shows. It was a religious experience anointed in beer. RIP Buddy and Dick.

Dayum! This predates my SD residency by a little more than a year. I think it took me a week or two to discover The Incredible Beat Farmers once I landed...but even these few months just before I got to town were obviously so important in the band's evolution. So much primo Buddy material❤ ❤... Rolle beating on the stand-up, and even Blue on drums. I only remember Jerry ever busting out for C-Dick! And who the hell are these chick singers?? At first ut sounded like they were just screaming - but they're actually great singers. It's a real treat watching this. Thank you so much for posting!!

Fantastic 40 year old memories! There was nothing like them. And Jerry's still going strong! And every once in a while Rollie rolls by too! Love it here in good old SD.

I'm so jealous, I seen the beat Farmers back in the day quite a bit in Cali, but now I live in Colorado where it's freeze ass cold now. Maybe if I strike gold in my backyard I can move back to Cali.

We are watching this on youtube in 2019. We enjoyed the Beat Farmers in St Louis at Mississippi Nights and elsewhere a number of times in the '80's and early '90's (petty sure). It's remarkable how many well written, enjoyable songs they had in their catalogue. If any band needs a cover band to provide tribute it's the Beat Farmers.

Freakin’ AWESOME!!! I’ve loved the Beat Farmers (and now the Farmers), since these early years (I was 22 at the time this was recorded). One of the best nights of my life was getting to hang out with two of my best friends, Mark and Jeff, with the band before a gig, at Theatre Gallery in Deep Ellum, Dallas, TX in 1985. Two opening bands and we all got hammered waiting them out; band included. RIP Country Dick, RIP Buddy Blue and I wish all the best to the rest of those who have been a part of it.

The Beat Farmers were the best live act I've ever seen. Caught them every time they were near, multiple nights. All great shows!

The BFs were quite loved at San Francisco State College in the 1980s. And Alex Bennett played 'em alot and had Country Dick on his morning show. Deep voices sound so damn good in trucker songs and cowpunk-a-billy... Thx much, James Lee and Hergon Hergonson!

Saw them in Montana 1988ish. My God, it was fun! Has ANY band, ANYWHERE, had as much fun on stage, while making sure everyone else present had fun too, as THESE guys? Anyone? In that regard alone, they stand alone. RIP Dan (“Dick”) and Buddy. Gone way too soon.

I don't know (or maybe I do) who first posted this but I can tell this is my recording from when I VHS taped it the night it played. (can tell by same little glitches in begining) Years ago when KZbin first started I gave a copy to a Beat Farmers fan and told him to make a copy of it and upload it on to here.Good job fellow BF'er fan.

Probably you're absolutely right :) This is not my video, I found it somewhere on the net a few years ago. I'm just another big BF fan. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed.

Dragan Burnac We all went to the bar they were playin at each weekend (and that we were goin to each weekend too) right after this was shot.Mojo Nixon was always the opener each night there.(and to answer the one other comment/question) Mojo opened this show with a half hour set.It was filmed and brodcast right before this (as one long show) So if you look thru Mojo's stuff you might find another Club 33 show (if my pal uploaded it too)

Anybody know how to possibly get a copy of the Club 33 shows from 1984? A group that I was in during that year also did a Club 33 show but with all the hype and excitement going on no one bothered to record it. It was one of those rare moments where I had both of my brothers together with me for that show both who have since passed away. The name of the group I was playing with was called "The Neat". If anybody could help me find how to get a archived copy of that show I would be eternally grateful.
@Goargod8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Downey Hey, Anthony, I remember you guys. Fun show. Cox screwed up all of the archiving. Hergon may have a copy. I'll see what I can do. I'm sorry to hear about your brothers. As for the show, it was a wonderful time. I really enjoyed busting out big Reader ads for local bands, great memories. I'm Jim Lee, the producer, thanks for the comment. The icon pic is of my friend Moriah whose youtube account this is.
