I'm new to the Pokemon TCG and pulled a full art Dragapult Ex in a pack. I may build this as my 2nd deck once my Zard League Battle Deck arrives. There's also so many overlapped cards. Deck building is effecient in Pokemon with so many staples like Iono and Ultra Ball being played in every list.

Although this week's tournaments do not allow Prismatic Evolutions cards as playable yet, I can foresee that Budew card disrupting and destroying more than most of players' patience; friendships will probably end because of this basic Pokémon able to item-lock you out whenever you can use it... And yes, I will be on the same hunt whenever I'll buy any Prismatic Evolutions product

I’ve been playing this deck extensively and I’m not a pro so maybe my take is off. Typically I prefer going second because Arven/Lance is so key for a good set up on your first turn. It’s also really bad if you’re leading on budew and you’re playing against a deck capable of dealing with a budew lead. This deck really likes slowing the pace down and I think going first is only best when you’re setting up an attacking Dragapult your next turn. This isn’t too uncommon but it abandons the line of attacking with budew if you’re burning your arvens for a fast dragapult

With lz rotating out, you think sylveon ex terra can find a home here as an offensive stun wall/cleanup/controll option? Could run fezan+50hp eevees as a springboard rope and dope option when your behind as well. It can agitato let us go to a bench of 8 if the opponent plays area 0

I'm super new to pokemon TCG after being out for several years. I'm guessing manaphy and temple of sinnoh is just ways of protecting the deck/shutting down opponent? Thanks, I got a bunch of these cards today and wanna play it/learn it.

So manaphy is good to guard against radiant greninja which can do damage to benched pokemon, as well as guard against scream tail which is in gardevoir ex decks. The temple of sinnoh is to counter lugia vstar decks, which use only special energy. I believe terapagos ex decks may also use only special energy, if not mostly special energy. You are totally correct that they are cards that help to counter the opponent by protecting yourself against certain meta strategies. I hope this helps!

Iron Thorns is funny and can turn off certain decks, but Budew is more versatile and requires less commitment to the Active Spot. I like Budew in the upcoming format more.

Im happy and excited Dragapult getting the love it deserves. Been a day 1 dragapult player and have always enjoyed playing all variants including charizard, iron thorns, regidrago 😅. Jokes aside, im positive Dragapult will be top tier after rotation specially with budew and the dusk line, its going to wreck. Might see monki as an alternative to radiant alakazam, however would need space for a dark energy so not optimal then again dragapult might make some space since rn it does play some yellow borders like lance and manaphy.

@JohnWardenDoesYT still to test it out with monkidori. Gapejaw bog would be risky as it would accelerate damage counters making monki's hp lower faster and not let it be benched longer. It's good to accelerate counters on it when summoned but it's only two counters and would prefer to maximize the 3 since its more essential to take their bench faster. Maybe froslass but it would disrupt dracloak making it more vulnerable in the mirror match on bench snipers. Plus i was looking at it as far as how we should play it post rotation, gapejaw wouldnt be an option at that point.

I feel like this isn’t going to be as good as it seems because pretty much ANY basic Pokemon can deal 30 damage for the KO.. idk maybe it’s me but I don’t see how this changes the meta at all. It’ll get you 1 extra turn most of the time, which isn’t bad I guess

You also have to remember that while under the lock it's very hard to find basic energy. Charmander needs 2, regi 3, Lugia 4, and most of the creatures in Miraidon 2 or more. It's a surprisingly effective way to slow down your opponent, even at 30 HP.
