Awesome guide, I'm brand new to pokemon tcg, like I've played for less than a week, (I've mostly just played the video games) and was able to make it to Arceus league on TCG Live just playing this deck. The ladder seems pretty forgiving but I still managed to win more than half of my games so I'm pretty happy, keep up the good work

I run pretty much the same build for Zard as you, except I have Thorton swapped for a lost vacuum. It isn't necessary and is honestly worse I just don't have Thorton lol. I've also been bouncing between swapping one of the ultra balls for a tera orb. Lets you get to Zard through Arven without losing as many cards BUT it's the only thing you can search using it, so if your in a pinch and it's all you have you might be screwed.

Thorton is crucial in some matchups. I would adivse strongly to play one. Also 4 Ultraball is so big for consistency. Imagine you start with a bad opening hand and have tera orb instead of ultraball.

Yeah. I love the idea of Tera ball, but I cut it every time. I also play Jamming Tower and Temple of Sinnoh over Collapsed Stadium. But that’s just me.

Really unfortunate that your first showcase match was against a meme deck. With the ladder reset on PTCGL, you have to play enough games to get to Arceus before you can start reliably facing real decks. Also, that might have been the most busted opening hand I've ever seen. Double BBP, Arven for Nest Ball + FSS, double candy, Dusknoir, and Instant Char into Charizard and another Arven. The last game was great though!

You don’t need 2 dusknoir, 1 dusclops is fine

Imagine saying this and there is only 1 copy of dusknoir in the list. Dusclops at two is suboptimal.Having a second “dusknoir” doesn’t hurt when you can pop dusknoir for one ko. Night stretcher for it back and use it again to help with a second knockout possibly getting a 3-4 prize turn.

I dont get why people say Raging Bolt is a beginner friendly deck when this shit exists. Instant Setup isnt crazy at all. Just play all the search engine there exists it feels like. I refuse to play this...i really wonder what will happen with the next rotation lmao this will be unplayable and not only Chard.

I run 1 Duskull, i traded it out for Cancelling Cologne, i also traded an Ultra Ball for a tera orb, its Arven searchable and i dont need to discard to use it

Just know tera orb is technically a small consistency hit. Usually won't matter but in really niche situations it can.

@pokefan05 I like if I have some key pieces in my hand I'd rather not pitch , I can grab that and find a zard. I agree that it is very niche but there have been quite a few times it's come in handy for me

only if you have all the pieces in hand, otherwise ultraball is sometimes just a better overall card (ultraball into lumieon for arven etc) also thins out your hand from any cards that is clogging your hand and you expect to get Iono'd, stamped, roxanne'd etc. if anything i'd rather a feather ball over tera orb since if you have a small hand (3-4 cards) which are all combo pieces for you to continue the turn off a Quick Search and you cann't afford to ultra ball off of an arven.
