In today’s video I look at new decks from Japan including the Dragapult ex which is dominating in Japan right now!

Dipplin/Thwackey has been doing well itself throughout these past 2-3 days in Japan. A good handful making multiple top 16, top 8 and top 4 placements

As a spread enjoyer I'm happy to see that it seems at the minimum to be a good deck. Quite like the idea of trying a 1-1 line of Hisuian Braviary in there too. Doesn't take up any energy and if you can get it out once you've got counters all over, you can get up to 180 damage onto the board whilst potentially forcing your opponent into a 7 prize game.

In the time where this video was uploaded, around 13 other dragapult decks won city leagues aswell xd deck is going crazy

I saw an interesting Munkidori, luminous energy, Armarouge, magma basin version of Dragapult which gets more damage counters into your opponents board while also accelerating fire energy. Presumably it would play well into Dragapult mirror match given it could snipe Drakloaks 🤷‍♂️

So how long should we wait until we can say whether or not Ogrepon flopped? Not gonna lie, I was expecting Dragapult to be good, but I wasn't expecting it to be THIS good. With a Spread deck starting to do well, it makes me want to consider trying out a few more Healing cards like Radiant Tsareena or Altaria ex!

One thing I didn't consider is just how screwed you are if you're ever behind vs Dragapult Unless you've got backup ready and raring to go, it's just going to ravage your bench before you get to do anything

Do you think an inclusion of 2-2-1 torterra ex line would work with the thawckey and drpplin deck? You could even throw in rabsca for protection against dragapult

Think the Munkidori in the Dengo deck is to reduce the energy requirement per Zard knockout (or any Stage 2 above 300HP)

One thing that stood out to me was the lack of lost vacuum and the tool block stadium. If decks look similar when they come to other regions, then Hero's Cape might be in a better spot than it's ever been in at least until the meta adapts.

I think that lost zone could be REALLY good if you include radiant zam since it’s not using a radiant. Just to force even more damage around. Really want to test that way.

I never understood why they got rid of the fairy type. Now you have this 320hp beast with no counterplay, makes no sense

Is moonlit hill gonna be good in gardevoir to heal away damage from a dragopolt? 80 kirlia - 60 + 30 still means it can get 2 shot sitting on the bench. So not sure if itll actually be useful.

I’d rather have Greninja be S-tier 🥲 I am thinking about making a list of a 4-1-4 with a 2-2 split between both Greninjas using 3 or 4 Froslass to activate the water Greninja or even straight up kill the enemy bench over a few turns

Dragapult ex the new BDIF? i don't know if that will be true when Dragapult releases here, but i would rather Dragapult ex be the BDIF instead of Charizard, but i guess we will see how well Dragapult does when we get that card here. Though, are we really gonna have to play Rabsca in all decks if this card ends up becoming very popular, cause that will be kind of annoying having to tech a random stage 1 line just to get protection from this thing! sucks Jirachi is limited to basics only so that would not work.

If you spread constantly 60 onto bidoofs, charmander, pidgey, you will just autowin at a point with devo. There is literally nothing you can do about it. they might swap out rad chari with tsarena at one point. Also lostbox sounds absolutely free. You wont be onehitting 320 w/o weakness, and it spreads too much.

Noob here. How does dragon’s attack go through jirachi and manaphy?

Manaphy prevents damage; placing counters is not damage so manaphy does not affect it. Jirachi only prevents effects from Basic pokemon, as drag a stage 2 it isnt affected by jirachi

Damage counters are not the same as straight damage, so that gets around manaphy. Jirachi specifically states damage counters from BASIC Pokemon, so Dragapult is a STAGE 2 Pokemon and is unaffected by Jirachi.

1. Its an evolution pokemon, jirachi only effects basic pokemon 2. Manaphy only prevents bench **damage**, not damage counters Hope that helps 😊

Jirachi only protects against damage counters from basic pokemon and manaphy only protects from direct damage, not damage counters (like moonlight Shuriken)

Min 4:00 i actually do use lance in my regidrago deck. Its nice for looking for dragons when you have everything but cards to discard However it was adventurers discovery befroe rotation in my arc regidrago deck. But i had to replace it
