I don’t care if I still see an occasional zard, cause we’ve mostly solved zard. I just like the idea of a diverse meta where I can go through a 5 round local cup and possibly not see the same deck twice- even if one of them is a zard.

@@andrewjfauver my locals are infested with zard. usually 2 in the top 4 every single night, and as someone who usually plays lower tier decks for fun it’s not fun to deal with 4/5 rounds against zard.

@@luxxtcg yea that’s what I see too. That’s why I’m excited for the twilight masquerade meta that seems like there’s like half a dozen top decks in stead of like 2.

@@andrewjfauver I think without Zard we'd be in a really good meta right now too. There are a number of good, viable decks below it and there'd be even more if all the big basics weren't being gatekept.

Like i said before, zard ex is poweful, but not infallable. If a player finds a way to counter a zard player, chances that the zard player will get frustrated on any weakness of its deck

Why do people use Japan to judge what our meta will be? Everyone thought BibZard, Luiga, and ArcVulpix were going to be the top decks, and all three are T2 or worse. Japan is not a good judge of what the format will be.

Dragapult has already been tested against zard. And Dragapult destroys zard. Miraidon does really well against Dragapult b/c most of the bench is over 100hp and nothing requires evolution or pidgeot.

I'd say it plays a factor, considering they have the cards before we do. Definitely not the end all be all

Zard is powerful in bdif, but the fast pace gameplay and reliance to candies is one of the factors that an opposing player can exploit. Pidgeot ex is reliant also on candies so if you face an item lock player, single prizer or a tanky one. Even a zard player will get frustrated on how many hits or prize cards will he/she get

Worst comment I’ve ever seen. First of all nobody ever said BibZard would be the premier Zard variant and if they did they were talking out their ass. Nobody said that about ArcPix either, it was a meta call. Japan IS a good judge of what the format will be like because they literally get new cards before we do

They don't judge the west meta, but they used the metrics to predict the future outside the CCG. Yes, some decks like the ones you mentioned got totally different results compared to Japan, but most are accurate.
