I worked at a machine shop a long time ago, and the boss had thrown away a Cleveland intake into the scrap bin. It was a Bud Moore "Mini Plenum" intake with a removable top. The top was a single 4 barrel top with a 4500 (Dominator) mounting pad....I think a 2x4 top was also available, but this one was only a single carb deal. Anyway, I can't believe he just tossed it into the scrap pile. But, it did'nt get scrapped....I was'nt able to retreieve it in time, but a good friend who also worked there, grabbed it from the scrap pile. I tried to buy it from him, but instead, he sold it to Ron Miller down at Ford Power Parts way back when they were around. So at least it did'nt get scrapped, and it's floating around out there somewhere, still in existence!

I was never a fan of those mini Plenum type intakes, did not think they’re are very good at least for drag racing. NASCAR that might be a different story. I just saw one for sale for 1500. Taking a break is about self care. Your awesome because You Talk! People have an inbuilt self checking that varies. Trust your instincts. You'll Maybee remember Time Magazine outing Toyota for not listening to small signals during the final right off of the Camry and Avalon that had minor problems that resulted in majors down the line. So the final choice is what we listen to in the inner communications of our communities. It's like it was before my now 87 year old Dad. He had a heart turn in 1988, but the doctor who put him into hospital for coronary bypass in 2005 said. Hey, when you had four heart attacks and warnings before this...who did you tell?. Your ECG tells me now, but the Answer. You told No one. I was with my dad each time, and he just said he was crook with a tummy bug. So a guy can go on like an island, but no one is an island Mr TH. I understand about heart surgery, I did cardiothoracic surgery/ Lung/open heart surgery for 13 years, I can tell you more stories than you believe about heart attacks, with or without chest pain, stories that would blow you away, emergency ruptured aortic aneurysms,one time in 2003, I worked in a hospital where we did 2 to 4 open-heart surgeries a day, just me and the surgeon. Lots of valve replacements, I harvested the vein, opening the whole leg, to endoscopic surgery, where I took the vein out of the leg, with a scope, assist in the surgery, and manage the patients. 12 + hrs a day 7 days a weeks for years. I knew something had got in my eye and thought it was a piece of dirt or rust. Went to the restroom to wash it out and low and behold a wire fell into the sink. Luckily the face shield slowed it down enough it must have only barely stuck me. Daughter driving- I found out you have to be patient with the girls driving. @@DragBoss351Cleveland Cool car to start driving with. My first car I drove on the street was my moms brand new 1989 Dodge Shadow 5spd. I use to always tell my dad "let me drive - let me drive" Finally one day in he pulled over and said here you go. Man I was nervous as hell - 9 years old lol. This is in the city man lol. He told me how to work the clutch and gas. I stalled it at least a handful times. Hes like give it some gas. I did a burnout and got it going. The rest is history lol... When my dad drove my Cougar as his daily driver, we had a 69 Mustang Coupe we were working on and that was suppose to be mine. This was in 1992 - Gulf War going on etc... It had a 302 3spd manual on the floor. When everyone was at work I would drive it around our back yard - garage was in back yard on an acre land. One of my neighbors told on me so that fun went away. Mom and dad made minimum wage then and he had to sell the Mustang for house payment. Same happened to the 74 Scamp with a 340 auto he had 🥺 Its all good, I still got the Cougar when I turned 17 and this was the car I always wanted anyways. We use to go fishing every Saturday in the Cat and street race with the Cat so its much more special to me. That 69 Mustang was my first brake job too. All 4 drums. Took a Chiltons with pair vise grips, needle nose vise grips, flat head screw driver and pliers. He said, yes there are correct tools but how you gonna do these brakes if you dont have them tool? I miss my dad...

@@nova467spanker thanks for sharing Matt. I remember doing my first engine job with my dad, on my cougar. When I did a neutral drop, and the timing chain broke. Important lesson there. Sounds like you had a cooler Cars than we had. Although we did have a 74 nova, that was pretty cool. But nothing spectacular. Your car has a lot of history and memories, don’t get rid of it ever. With nova I used to drive when I didn’t have a license, and my parents were gone. I would unhook the Speedometer, go wherever I want, make sure the gas was up to level put it back in the garage and hook the Speedometer up. That occurred a few times until when I pulled in one day my father standing there. At that point I had my drivers permit within a couple weeks and the license shortly there after. Thanks for the history and the memories Matt

Hi Tim, you mentioned maybe using the Performer RPM Airgap Intake for your street car. I realize the runners are 2V port sized. I plan to try it on a 4V iron head motor to see if port velocity picks up for better low end throttle response. I also plan to use a QFT 750 Mech Sec Annular Booster carb on this intake. This will be going in a 3.25 geared street car. Your thoughts on this combo? Thx. Sam
@DragBoss351Cleveland2 жыл бұрын
Hey Sam good to hear from you. Yes they will run like crazy on iron for the heads from what I hear. And that’s exactly what I was going to do. I suspect definitely the velocity will be up. My experience with anular boosters carbs not good. I could not get it to not hesitate when, I nailed it. Messed with for awhile. But a BG 825c never an issue, dog leg boosters. The gear will be a limiting factor. Really need like 3.55-3.73.
