*1951 Chevrolet 3100 Red Pickup*
This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Red Pickup, Stock # DGT5219. Vin AB 455219 Bears an Alberta, Canadian-assigned Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) tag. It was acquired in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and subsequently transported to Washington State by its current owner.
The previous owner, an intriguing individual, did not maintain receipts or obtain them from the vehicle’s builder. He performed a comprehensive restoration, including the installation of a new starter and alternator.
While the exact engine configuration remains uncertain, we suspect it to be a 327 cubic-inch V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and equipped with headers. The vehicle appears to possess a newly installed dual exhaust system featuring Flowmaster mufflers. It is equipped with a 350 turbo automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle.
The front suspension is sub-framed and independent, while the front bumper is chrome-plated. Notably, the rear bumper is absent. The vehicle is equipped with five-spoke cast wheels and BFGoodrich tires. A B&M floor shifter and a GM steering column are also present.
On the underside, a minor flaw was discovered in the floor pan, which has since been rectified. Additionally, the cab corners at the bottom have undergone some minor reworking. The left drain vent has been filled in, while the right drain vent remains intact.
Unfortunately, the speedometer is inoperable, prompting the installation of a GPS speedometer, which has proven to be more accurate in most cases. The bucket seats are upholstered in silver gray cloth and exude a pleasing appearance.
As a safety measure, shoulder seatbelts have been installed. However, the vehicle lacks a radio. Notably, functional backup lights are present.
Despite some imperfections in the paintwork and minor body flaws, this truck offers exceptional driving quality. The slats on the bed contribute to its distinctive appearance.
A five-gallon gas can is attached to the bed, as depicted in the photographs. Overall, this truck has undergone significant restoration and performs well. While it may not be suitable for showroom purposes, it can be utilized effectively for work or recreational activities local car shows.
