That is facts. It’s those little surprises that get you excited. I was fishing mid Summer in GA wayyy before the bull red run and I thought I had hooked a 4ft bonnet head until it surfaced, and it’s a 48 inch bull red. We were completely ecstatic. For me, that tops anything I’ve ever had happen fishing.

The way you got tears eyed ( slightly ) I knew the exact feeling and facial expressions you had there . Even though I’m land based , I always get emotional over new accomplishments when I go out . When I caught my first bull red a couple months ago … when I seen my first tailing red fish feeding frenzy accompanied by a beautiful sunset that turned the Tampa Bay water blood red . I was 4 for 6 all top slot reds too out of that frenzy it was insane . Lasted like an hour and then it was dead . But the moment in it’s entirety just had me in awe . Like a month or 2 ago I went out night fishing first shrimp I tossed I hooked a 32 inch snook which slaughtered my previous PB which was a 26in snook . It’s those moments I will cherish forever . I’m sure this one will be forever cemented into your heart . So freaking cool Beach Bum !

Being a west coast guy, I've never caught a blackfin. I don't recall tunas as ever having soft mouths. I can tell you one thing is for sure: you rest, the tuna does too. Keep the pressure on and keep pulling. Short stroking gets them faster. Tuna are notorious for the death circle. Congratulations!
