This is the most insane live set i think i have ever fucking seen in Death metal. T's Vocals are the most vicious and most agonizing stuff I've ever heard on a live set even though the studio version is just as brutal sounding. They sound as if he is screaming from having his own spine being ripped out on stage by demons from hell especially at the start of Buried with leaches 21:59. The guitars sound like whirlwinds of just complete chaos and strangely in some places have a bit of an ugly melody that makes them just have an almost paranormal sounding sound, almost like a more focused and more blunt forced traumatic aborted child of Portal. Hatred for mankind is one of the absolute peaks of extreme metal and maybe even just extreme music as a whole. Truly one of my favorite bands ever.

I think Anthony Fantono described them as "blackened, sludgy, sonic UGLINESS" and "sonic ugliness" is how I now describe them!... and, to/from me, that is the utmost praise and EXACTLY what I was waiting my whole life for until Hatred For Mankind dropped over a decade ago! I heard what I was wanting in my head then DIS did it... Combining all the best parts of my fav genres in metal but keeping it, straight up, ALL BALLS! There were TONS of shitty, cookie-cutter, "blackened" bands coming out each week in 2009 that either sucked or were too afraid to go balls out so they had a lot of pussy parts! Dragged Into Sunlight IMMEDIATELY became my fav band. DIS drops Hatred For Mankind and NAILS drops Unsilent Death within the same year... God I wish I could relive discovering both bands again! But since... we've only gotten TWO great bands, imo, being Full Of Hell and GateCreeper
@jamiemcgregor4080 Жыл бұрын
I not only don't mind that they turn their backs. I like it. When you see them live it makes sense. You probably wouldn't see them if they faced the crowd anyway btw with their stage lighting preferences. They don't mess around. They arrive. Twat you. Don't talk. Twat you again. Then they leave. It's perfect. I can't wait to see them again. I even set up Google alerts to reduce my chances of missing something like a nerd.
@phatnana23796 ай бұрын
Dragged Into Sunlight is, quite literally, an amalgamation of all my favorite aspects of extreme music... True sonic ugliness that's ALL balls without compromise. The anonymity, dark stage with strobes, and turning their backs to the audience is a testament to their dedication to their art (I'm cringing as I say that but it really is true)... Their live performance is the only act I've ever seen that is truly, 100% ALL about the music. Other bands, like Ghost for example, use their "anonymity" as a gimmick. A way to build buzz that doesn't serve what they're going for musically at all. Dragged Into Sunlight never highlights that aspect of their band, interviewers do. Lol that's enough Dragged Into Sunlight D-riding for me. I hate gushing over a band but it's so hard NOT to with these guys

The crowd doesn't usually mosh to these guys. It's rare to see them often for one, and second, their music demands your attention. Seeing them live was insane. I was in awe. It was a sonic assault in the best way. All you could do was just headbang, throw the horns, and watch.
@marko-em1pl4 жыл бұрын
I don't get it, are the actual band members preforming? Aren't they all about hiding their identity? Or is the performance done by someone else?

@thawedantarctican2171 Жыл бұрын
@Jigsore You can still remain anonymous if you really want to. These guys probably don't have much individual social media presence and only let certain individuals know that they are in DIS.
