Nice view and perspective. From this wide and, just the right distance, view, we can tell where it has been digging, where it is going. I believe we can tell this is a very wide coal seam, and the dragline will have to dig as wide as it can reach, down one run. Then it will have move over to start another run, or more, to, eventually, cover the width of the seam. I also see the need for the really large draglines, and that I think this mine could have used a dragline twice the size of the one shone working.

Here in S Wales in the uk, we go much deeper to get the best coal, but over a much lesser area, We keep going down and down .

If they are digging for coal here in Tx sometimes they take out a layer of coal and put the ground back like it was and then move to a nother place

The new paint jobs are great, but I don't know why they would leave the Marion badging off these machines. After all the decades these machines have worked for these company's, you would think they would be proud to display the Marion brand on these draglines !

48 to 50 thousand yards a 12 hr shift that's if no break downs occur or weather is to bad such as lightning. I work there in Kosse tx.
