Doesn't want the guy to talk to his lawyer. Never get away with that now

And they shouldn't. (I'm not anti cop at all, but I don't agree with trickery and deciept by police)

Did anyone else notice how the police kept breaking and entering the guy's property without a word mentioning a search warrant? Those were the days!

@@heyoldman2003 yes, in this case, but I’d imagine corrupt cops would and have used this protocol to frame innocent people far too often.

This episode would make an interesting law school test problem in Criminal Procedure. There are least four issues in the investigation that would, today, would get the case dismissed for police musconduct.

Dragnets themselves were ruled unconstitutional, as should drunk driving road blocks.

Harry Morgan is a cop this time! And Raymond Burr is no good! And it sounds like Ellen Corby as one of the neighbors. Great radio!
@JCMCentAus5 жыл бұрын
You're right. That is Harry Morgan, later Frank Smith on TV. I'm also pretty sure that was Raymond Burr, who played one of the captains or commanders. Trying to disguise his voice, I think.
@SemperFighting5 жыл бұрын
Raymond Burr was the best Captain and yes this is a great show.

That was probably a Webb regular the great character actress Virginia Gregg .

Harry was "Officer Bill Gannon".

@@vleldaddio210 I think you are absolutely correct! In fact, it sounds like Virginia Gregg played ALL the relatives and neighbors!

They keep getting past the guard dogs by tossing fresh horse meat at them. Back in 1949 did the average Los Angeles butcher shop sell fresh horse meat, or did they have to go to some specialty shop to obtain it?
@wufongtanwufong55794 жыл бұрын
@evakatrina a It would have been. Horse meat was once a common ingredient in dog food

Later, this episode was remade as "The Big Plant". This was a time before Search Warrants came along to straighten much of everything and the lawyers wouldn't interfere with the law. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2XMlJyVdrGpjNEfeature=shared

man's wife has suddenly dropped from sight. On the surface it appears only as a routine missing persons case. Detective Sergeant Friday has been assigned to Homicide Detail. He starts to investigate and suspicion grows. There is evidence of possible foul play. It's Friday's job to find the woman or find her murderer.

It's wise to smoke extra mild Fatima. 🚬☠️ This good episode could have been a great one if not for Harry Morgan's wooden acting. He sounds like he was handed the script five minutes before the show started recording.
