* Passes out, awestruck * OMG, Andrastini! This is so hauntingly beautiful!!! My thoughts and emotions are chasing each other in utter tumult and commotion... What a... big WOW this is!.. At first I thought the keep is a real place and the paintings are real paintings he keeps ordering painted, and so Alistair's grief (definitely NOT "melancholy") felt so overwhelming, and the portrait lip-sync-ing back to him so disturbing... I could hardly breathe, seriously... So in my eyes, you suddenly raised him to become so outstanding a character... Equal to the characters by Dostoevsky, you know... As deep, as broken, and unfortunately as dangerously close to the edge of sanity...This was so intense and draining I didn't think I could take it, so decided to go with the alternative interpretation instead: It's not a real place but Alistair's memory palace, with each painting representing a different memory (Rebecca Hamilton said it here first). And this explains his solitude, the number of paintings, the palette, and indeed the fact that his beloved elf-girl looks a bit too "parfaite" (quoting the amazing comment by Marchand Lydie here)... This view makes the tone of the scene lighter, melancholic rather than desperate, and I think I can live with that. Still, sheer heartache, of course... It took me some time to notice the enhanced cinematographic quality of the amazing post-Ostagar sequence at the beginning, which is obviously a flashback (duh). He probably keeps revisiting this particular memory most often as it's the one when he was struck by the sudden realization of his own feelings and also by that sticky fear of the imminent irreparable loss (which probably later haunted him in the course of the whole campaign)... This is an absolutely outstanding artwork! Can only imagine the number of tears you shed while creating it, and the amount of effort and skill it required. Bravo! And thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you :) The paintings were relatively easy to make - my friend LadyHonor showed me how to do it. It's basically just replacing the texture of a vanilla painting with your own. Took a bit of trial and error until it looked good but I had so much fun! :)

Hey Samantha :) The hug outside Flemeth's hut is a cutscene I made for this video. It would make a nice mod for an Alistair romance playthrough, but the logistics of plugging it into the vanilla scene are a bit complicated. I'll let you know if I figure out a way to do it!

This one took some extra programs because of the singing portrait, but essentially, it's all toolset. I filmed the "raw" footage made in the toolset and then used Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro to do the rest :)

I'm using a morph that gives him blonde highlights www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1596 Depending on what other cosmetic mods you have installed (textures, tints, eyes) he'll vary slightly, but that's the base - and what a beautiful base it is!
