You literally find a Veilfire glyph in the Temple of Pride on Forbidden Oasis, where the base word "Solas" repeats in 2 following sentences, w/ differing alterations meaning either "Arrogance" or "Pride", depending on the suffix attached to the base word "Solas". There's a reason one of the main quests is even called "What Pride Had Wrought", which is quite on the nose tbh

Abelas knew Solas is Fen’Harel. He makes a distinction between Elven and Elvhen. Abelas: “Elven legend (about Fen’Harel) is wrong.” Solas: “Your people yet linger.” Abelas: “Elvhen such as you?” Remember, Elves speak their language imperfectly. It’s just like real-life Latin: Classical (republic and empire) vs Medieval. Classical Latin gave meaning to how long you pronounced a vowel. “Puella” means girl. Pu-el-lah. But say that “a” longer, like Pu-el-laaaaaah, and it means “(from/with/in/by/on) the girl.” Spelled exactly the same way: puella vs puella. Elven vs Elven. Only El-ven vs El-veeeeen. Medieval Latin lost those vowel length meanings, and used other words to provide those meanings.

Dragon Age voice actors are some of the BEST I've ever heard, especially in Inquisition. And depending on which companions you have in your party, and which options you select, you learn so much! I have seen this scene without Solas, and it's nothing at all like this. And yes, I do love Abelas...btw, why was the Anchor familiar to Abelas? I have so many questions!

Yes, I love the voice actors as well 😍 And about the anchor: it is elvhen magic. It came from fen harel's foci, so abelas night recognize both the artifact and magic, or just the traces of magic the anchor leaves Because they're all immortal beings, they reeeeeally know magic

Hard disagree. Origins and 2 are better in that department. Inquisition butchers every single elven word, on top of that, the Inquisitor's voice is always so stale compared to Morrigan and some of the other characters.

I had a big crush on Abelas before romancing Solas tbh, what a pity he can be killed bc that decreases our chances of seeing him again, but as an ancient elf he had the excuse of "not being easily killed", it'd make more sense than with Leliana imo

Ok so ive always had a problem since inquisition and that is where did humans come from like the dwarfs were around in ancient elven times but no humans or qunari so if solas tears down the veil where do they go are they just gone like humans had to come from somewhere like even the qunari have a possible origin although it only theory in books you pick up in game or from iron bull himself they were somehow created using dragons blood remember i said theory my point been what happens to all the humans are they just blinked out of existence when the veil is torn

Maybe it will be explained in the next game. I'd guess that the humans could be a mix between dwarves and elves, and it's curious that they came from Par Vollen, as well as the qunari But still. Who knows?

@@SparkOfElune i got some explanation but it's not a lot in dragon age origins you get told i think in dalish camp that humans sailed in from across the sea at the time of Arlathon but those that mean if all humans sailed away and got far enough out to sea would this veil thing only be in Ferelden more questions and i thought i had an answer 😂

it’s been shown that the Mass Effect universe and Dragon Age universe exist together, there’s thedas on the galaxy map and krogan in the winter palace… maybe humans traveled to thedas and got stranded there… also Eezo the blue matter that gives humans biotic powers in mass effect is very similar to blue lyrium… just a little theory

It's the first thing Abelas says: "You are unlike the other invaders. You stumble our path on the side of one of our own." I checked it, he doesn't say that to a dailish Inquisitor. He calls the dailish "ghosts that have our features and wear valaslin" He says that Sera has their features too, but he remains uncertain. Solas is the only one that he confirms, and the camera goes straight to him. Later in this quest, there's this dialog: Solas: There are still others out there. Abelas: Elvhen such as you? Solas: Yes. Such as I. They definitely know each other, or "see the soul" as Cole stated once.

If a Dalish Inquisitor asks him and the other guardians to help "his people" he flat out says "you are not my people" so him referring to Solas as "one of our own" is significant. I don't remember the Elvhen line because it's been a long time since I've played with Solas in my party but that's a big hint as well, ancient elves only use the term Elvhen to refer to themselves, the same way that some Dalish only use it to refer to Dalish elves and not city elves.

Everyone claiming there is a connection is wrong, if youre and elf he comments that your an elf and doesnt mention Solas at all so its just him referring to an elf being in your party. Its good to stretch guys also dont cit tevinter nights thats just biowares canon.

Voice acting in Inquisition is so bad compared to the previous two. Most of the elven words are butchered which is my greatest pet pebe. Ar-la-TAN Freaking hate it 😒 You can tell the devs didn't care about putting that much love into this one.
