I dont know if someone is watching this or playing this in 2018, but each point in intelligence increases sneak attacks crit by 1%. Means if you have 66 intelligence you have 66% bonus crit chance from behind and 33 ordinary crit chance. definetly worth to invest into intelligence.

uh, intelligence? you mean cunning? and no, it only increases crit chance by 0.5% per point, and increases ranged defense by the same. since you can boost crit chance in other ways as an assassin, for example, and since you increase your raw damage (attack value) by dex, you actually are better off pumping dex instead.

I just want to clarify that you can, according to the Attributes info, get over 40% crit hit chance. The passive Sneak Attack, seems to have a soft cap that adjusts the passives increase if going over 40%.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like that skill just doubles your crit chance in that situation. I don't think the wording suggests that it adds that amount of crit, it seems to just double what you already have as crit chance when flanking. I believe it would be 27% because your stats put you at 13 and a few decimal points as base crit. Although this is just an assumption based on your Assassin Rogue build showing 42% and 84% for the skill, respectively.

Violet is right. Rogue archetype classes are my favorite and sneaky backstabbers most of all. Naturally, I did a lot of testing and fiddling around to come up with a build that would fit my play style, while also checking out other people's ideas. Surprisingly, I've yet to see a KZbinr who understood what _Sneak Attack_ does. And yes, my Dual Dagger Assassin had 50% crit chance as early as possible, meaning all my flank attacks were crits. Add _That Looked Like It Hurt_ and picking between _Sigil of the Deepstalker_ and _Sigil of the Great Bear_ might become a tough choice-for some, I'm Deepstalker all the way! Highlights so far? _Deathblow_ regularly crits for ~10,000x2 at 50% target HP. 110,000dmg _Mark of Death_ on Lv.27 High Dragons and a 239,000dmg _Mark of Death_ on a Great Bear (Nightmare, Even Ground, Grizzly End). And those are without Sera comboing _Thousand Cuts_ or Cole comboing another _Mark of Death!_ Almost killed the penultimate boss of Jaws of Hakkon in 10sec (~254,000HP), but he got full guard at ~3,500HP and almost wiped my party. _Almost._ My Assassin might as well be made of rice paper, but beware of the paper cut :P

I am not aware if it has been fixed in the PC version, but at least on the console version that I play, there is an exploit with the flame tonic ability. Whenever you use the flame tonic with its upgrade (no stamina use) it is possible to use both "Fade Rift" and "Thousand Cuts" without expending focus, though thousand cuts trigger its last strike before the tonic ends. The only limitation is that you have to wait for flame tonic to recharge. This ability can be used infinitely in theory, and has no noticeable drawbacks as long as you don't die. However, if you die, this exploit becomes problematic. If you have unlocked any focus beyond level 1, and you used the exploit before death, all focus after stage one is removed, and you cannot gain any focus beyond it. In addition, although you can still use the fade rift ability without any issue, Thousand Cuts will no longer work properly: it will only use the final strike, and not attack anything until said final strike. If you experience this glitch, reloading any save, even one made after the glitch commences, will fix the issue. This also works if you experience the visual glitch that makes light no longer affect your character, and the model is perpetually shadowed as if in the shade.

I found that with a few well crafted weapons and armor the dual dagger rogue is a wrecking ball. Just need 3 guard per hit and hidden blade 5 hits on dual blade daggers with aoe effect damage making you swings a huge guard generator and then have a good armor with gain 1 percent of maximum health per hit on your armor and it turns you into a crowd killing whirling death tornado. I soloed a dragon with this just by getting under him and swinging away(aoe hits 2 legs at the same time) and evading the claw swipes and lightning attacks. My rouge hasnt died once since equipping this load out and if ever I needed a retreat stealth and shadow strike lay out most Foes and then you go to work generating health and guard. Happy hunting

Funny I found this video after taking the tempest tree on my inquisitor. I've put my points almost ALL into double daggers and tempest. I love how the tempest class gives you control over the battlefield.. add to that a templar like cassandra, a reaver like iron bull and a spell blade like Vivienne and you've got full control over the battlefield. ( Sometimes I switch up iron bull for a necromancer just because the help from monsters is nice from level 16 and up.... imagine having control over a giant while you fight another giant.. yeah, thats quite nice. )

a just for fun thing that i do with a tempest class is the flask of fire + throw dagger spam on a single target its wrecks them up, i also think that the upgrade raises its atk by 25% can be stacked all are sundered too

I do Tempest build to emulate my old favorite DAO class -- the DW warrior. You can never truly have the awesomeness of DW warrior, but with tempest rogue and the appropriate companions (Viv with barriers + Iron Bull with Horn of Valor upgraded to give guard)... use maliks amulet and spec your attacks for facing damage.. and use frost flask for taunting, and it feels more warrior like. especially if you play a Qunari.

You can increase survivability if you have the fade touched Silverite on each dagger and I'd recommend putting dispel on preferred too or just turn it off and use it yourself it really comes in handy especially agaunts those stupid despair Demons

I want to try this for my Dual blade rogue but the only problem is I cannot find essence containment apparatuses anywhere at all. I already cleared Storm coast so that is out of the question. It seems to make it harder for you to find specific items once to choose a class you want to train in. I know that rift demons do not drop ECA's.

If you want to bring down single foes quickly with one, maybe two abilities for the stronger ones, go assassin. If you want to go around all crazy basically being a chaotic swashbuckler be a tempest. Tempest. Archery if you want to do crazy damage from afar, dual daggers if you want to deal crazy damage from up front and personal.

I don't know man.. don't really fancy that as much.. It's kinda build around one massive glitch as of right now and imho assassin is way more fun with mark of the death, wrecking stuff legitimately. anyway, since the 2h Champion will be your last "voteNOW" spec, I really hope you'll do a high-lvl build (~18/19+) and show some massive crits with 'To The Death' !! please don't come up with a lvl 14 2h champion - doesn't make much sense for that spec... keep 'em coming, Kinectic :)

+Thomas Hodgson You will change that thought after you do this combo on Tempest: Flask of fire -> Thousand Cuts, then repeat, in one combat. Those two classes are the same brokenly godlike before patch 10. After the patch only the Tempest remain stupidly overpowered. Of course it can be normal if we skip the focus ability.

Soooo... next video should be 2H Champion, right ? :) My warrior lady is waiting at Skyhold since 3 levels because I can't decide which specialization I should take ._. I had the idea of a more offensive type of tank with a big 2h weapon, but couldn't create a satisfying build. The idea of a tank being only a meat shield is quite boring, especially for the Inquisitor. So my tank Inquisitor should do some nice damage as well, otherwise I could just use Blackwall... I know I said it already, but I really like your videos, pretty much the best DA:I content out there on KZbin, keep it up.

I am currently building blackwall to make enemies weaker as he taunts them, and thanks to his weapons doing AOE damage as well, it makes him hit everyone. So he does lot's of damage and just laughs in the face of everyone as he doesn't take any damage

Honestly, both are quite powerful. Assassin offers some every useful abilities, especially for a sneaky rogue, but so does tempest. I would say that tempest fits a dagger rogue just a bit more, seeing as how its ice tonic upgrades to taunt enemies and it leaves them frozen, but it is still a good class with its other two tonics for an archer.

***** Tempest looks like fun, but I went with Assassin. Tempest doesn't serve much in terms party support, and I'm a party-style player. Tempest is more geared towards front-of-the-line players, whereas Assassin is based on flanking. I would have preferred a specialization like Duelist, which was purely defensive/counter based in DA:O and DAII, but that wasn't available. I eventually decided on Assassin because of the plethora of passive perks and emphasis on team strategy. Also, Tempest requires too much switching around for my taste. Like everything, it comes down to play styles. Look it up on the wiki for more info.

The sneak attack passive doubles your current crit chance. The game rounds down any decimals so your crit was probably 13.5...doubled to 27 for sneak attack.

Sure, that's another option if you can do it. I'm just expressing at the broader spectrum of players, levels, and gear. Also for me personally, I am trying to avoid using Guard on Hit now except maybe for tanks. There are some great dps masterwork perks that would be better than increasing defense imo.

Only a few changes have been made since I've made my class builds. And nothing I've seen makes these builds any less viable for playing in the current patch. I do encourage you to experiment and not just take these builds as they are. Use them as a foundation for how to get started and make changes where you like or if necessary.

Poison dont work on dragon but using an accessories like 30% increase poison rings will implify the damage on all mobs except the dragons I recommend 2 of these stats rings to become a bio master assassins it also works well with knockout powder too sleep then poison u can make any mob on nightmare bow to your might. Well for this build ull need to unlock the keep in emprise du lion then buy the dragon slaying dual dagger after u conquer the keep 4 to 5 k a peice so save your money but u most be lv 18 there 3 dragon in emprise du lion last one the Abyssal is a pain in the ass on nightmare ..

My lvl17 DD Rogue's hit chance is 87%, it hits about 2-3k crit when attack front of an enemy, and 6-8k when flanking. Hopefully that's not game breaking...

Assassin is the pur dps rogue, tempest is the ''tanky'' rogue especialy if you take flask of ice, more survivability but less damage.

I would recommend hook and grapple (or is it tackle?) and it's upgrade so you can always close the distance. Plus you can get it right after LLIH. Would toxic cloud be useful or no? I was always interested in poison damage but never fully invested into it. And Kinetic, what are your views on parry for the dagger tree? Since you love block and slash, wouldn't you like it and want to add it? If you can answer these, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Poison is difficult to build around in this game, being there's no runes or fade-touched items for it. You might try some adding some CC, or having 3 rogues all with a poison build might give you enough poison damage to make it worth the effort. Parry is good early game but getting the timing down isn't exactly easy, and in late game if you miss a parry it's guaranteed damage that just might be a 1-shot on a squishy.

Parry is a pain in the ass to me. It feels nothing like Block and Slash. Since we're avoiding clashing blades as much as possible anyway, it's pointless to me. As for Hook and Tackle, I don't have the room for it. Flank Attack, Twin Fangs, Poisoned Weapons, Stealth, Shadow Strike, Flask of Fire, Flask of Lightning and Thousand Cuts makes 8 skills.

hook and tackle is better for archer (not the AI), because you can use h and t and then use leaping shot for a ton of damage...combine this with flask of fire for even more damage..a very fun combo..or you can use h and t, poison cloud and then leaping shot to run away

Fred Gor Rogues are a versatile all round style class really you can e4quip them however you like. Sera is only a bow handling character as default but you can change that if you like. Currently playing as a dual bladed dagger tempest rogue myself and having awesome fun with it.

Depends. Do you want her to tank? DPS? It's debatable I guess, but I think 2H is still mainly dps and sword and shield is good for tanking. If you want her to DPS, bring Blackwall or yourself as a tank, tank grabs aggro first, and then Cassandra moves in for DPS. Like just about any other non-tank melee, if Cassandra tries to rush in, she's going to get beat up fast.

Fighting a dragon just use skirmisher to change sides. And assassin rogue is much smarter, you are at max stamina since assassin specialization has an auto crit perk with stealth and you are always in stealth since you kill a target and get it back as another perk and you have 2 potential stealth abilities which also gives you unlimited stamina with the sabotage perk for stamina every crit. This strategy of a build kills any heavy target (Dragons included) in seconds. You could just death blow after twin fangs against every small target otherwise with this^ lol.

You mean Dual Dagger Rogue? I have thought of it. But it's hard to imagine an equally damaging build without stealth. Perks like 50% dmg increase, 100% Crit with stealth, and increased Shadow Strike damage (often from stealth) make it the ideal playstyle I think for DD rogue.

i had the same question, than i found this: "Specializations are sub-class choices that further define and customize characters. Companions gain theirs when the Inquisition reaches Skyhold, while the Inquisitor can invite trainers for his own from the war table there as well. Inquisitor can only learn one specialization."

A rouge can get - Tempest - Artificer - Assassin A warrior can get -Templar -Champion -Reaver A mage can get -Rift Mage -Knight-Enchanter -Necromancer hope that helps, when you get to sky hold fast travel anywhere after talking to your advisors, fast travel back, then the mission on the war table "specializations for the inquisitior" will be unlocked, allowing you to get your specialization I'm a reaver warrior on one save and rift mage (I don't like Knight-Enchanter much to OP saps the fun away for me) on the other myself :)

dual dagger died easily in nightmare mode.. the avvar kill me in 1-2 hit by their assassin :( correct me if i build it wrong

tainle My advice would be to get the guard on hit masterwork. If your get lucky enough to find one( and there is one in the mage village) craft some armor or weapon with that on it. So every time you hit someone you get some guard.

I have a question. What is the diference between the main character and the allies? Because I was thinking, I'm now a archer and I think I'm going to change to dual daggers. But what if I wanted to play like... Rift mage? Should I create one and lvl it up from 0 or I can just build it on my mage ally? Is there a difference??

+Nice Guy Each of the companions can only access one of the three specs; Dorian is the Necromancer, Vivienne is the Knight Enchanter, and Solas is the Rift Mage. Other than that, they have all the same talents and abilities that your player character can have, so there is no real difference between playing it yourself or playing it with a companion. The only real advantage of playing your main character as one of these specs is that you can have two of the same spec in the party at the same time if you want to.

Nice Guy That's not quite right. Once you finish the main story, your companions don't really talk to you any more and their personal quests can no longer be completed, but you can still do other side quests, complete the various collectibles, craft gear, etc. Some stuff does get locked out, but it doesn't lock everything out, and it does not reset your characters. However, some characters will no longer be available to be in your party due to them doing other things (such as if you have Cassandra or Vivienne become the Divine).

+Nice Guy I know this is a very old comment but I thought I should just say that the trespasser dlc will lock off the entire game unless you made a save file before you started it. So if you do play the dlc make sure you have everything finished or have made a save file. That's only if you do play it.

My friend atttacked a dragon with thousand strikes and dragon lost 80% of its health at the beginning of the battle. dragon was lvl 19, about the same as he. How the hell is that possible? Game difficulty was on hard

Strong daggers, Tier 3 focus and the potential use of the exploit this class has can make any dragon die in a matter of minutes. It is how I ended like 4 of them in a single sitting (though I admit I was about 4 levels higher than most of them).

+xalexzz Tempest have a higher DPS but Assassins do better single shot damage. Personally a tempest duel dagger is the best if you want to use a dagger. Assassin are better with bows because you can 1 or 2 shot kill most.

Dual Tempest is how I've specced my inquisitor, alongside Vivienne and Blackwall. Only trouble is I have no idea who my 4th member should be. I was thinking perhaps Cole with a bow? Or solas as another range alternative. I feel like having 2 Melee, myself and KE Vivienne makes it difficult to play the DW tempest due to melee range being incredibly cluttered. Any suggestions? - Amazing video by the way!
