@@AeschylusShepherd wanted to wait to see the gameplay before replying here. Are they like paying you do go around leaving these comments? 😂 that’s what it looks like, you’ve left one on every negative comment in this thread… Anyway, the gameplay looks just as bad as the trailer. The devs talked about improving combat so much I at least thought that might look good but it doesn’t, it literally looks like the same combat from Inquisition except maybe even more simplified leaning into a hack and slash. The art looks even worse to me in gameplay than it did in the trailer, the enemy designs especially look horrendous, the dialogue options honestly looked pathetic like the devs didn’t want to include them at all but had to, the story they showed seemed comical it’s just 4 random nobodies walking up to an Elven god and asking him to pretty please stop what he’s doing… and the worst part is the fact that a falling statue ruins a ritual that Solas has apparently been preparing for a decade, I mean did he get hit in the head after Inquisition? Is he an idiot? Anyway yeah, the game looks… bad, it looks really bad to me. But yeah you know your welcome to preorder if you think it’s that amazing I’m glad someone does tbh.

I Liked it i´m going to see how the gameplay comes out on tuesday but it´ll be fun to come back to the Dragon age universe and its charachters and story in this fantasy world.

Because people forget that the reveal is not indicative of the actual game play. The BioWare team was having a bit of fun with the reveal. Actual game play WILL live up to the hype!

Kate - Thanks for your honest reaction to the news! Good news the actual game play is WAY BETTER. This was merely a companion reveal using a style not representative of the actual game. All these naysayers can do suck an egg (literally). Your reaction was AMAZING! Don't let ANYONE darken your joy!

I'm glad you're excited for the game, and you clearly appear to know something that the rest of us don't pertaining to the game as a whole, but rather than telling people who disagree with you to "suck and egg" you can at least try to be charitable and understand why most people are not excited. This trailer is pretty much all that most people know about the new Dragon Age game so far, and if this trailer is all we have to go by, it is a massive stylistic departure from what we have grown used to with the past Dragon Age games and it's not what we have come to expect and love from the IP. That said, I'll keep an open mind and wait for gameplay, but it's important to remember that the whole point of a trailer is to sell potential players on the idea of the game so they can get excited while they wait for more information to be revealed. While some people are clearly happy with what they see, I think it would be fair to say the trailer has failed on that front. I truly hope the gameplay reveal restores my excitement for the game, because so far, I think this game has got off on the wrong foot.

I am pretty worried about this one honestly, just posted my own breakdown... They went in such a different direction with the art style, it almost looked comical at times. I really hope they don't PG13 this...

personally i'm really worried when i first saw the trailer i thought of overwatch and overwatch and dragon age should never be in the same thought in inquisition people looked real now there cartoons i'm really scared for this game and the new mass effect

I love your enthusiasm Kate but personally for me, doesn't match the tone or feel of the last game looks like fortnight meets suicide squad, If this is the best they can do, I would prefer if EA just shuts down Bioware I can't imagine the hatchet job they would do on Mass effect 5.

I will hold off full judgement till I see the gameplay and my excitement and love of Dragon Age may have gotten the best of me in my initial reaction

@@N7Kate That's actually a good idea I might be being to harsh I could be misremembering the old trailers with nostalgia goggles, all so the trailer has been edited in away most likely how the marketing team wanted, at the moment I'm put off by the tone and art style, I will wait untill the gameplay video comes out.

@@polki3ncino143 Agreed 100%, everyone should absolutely make up their own mind on the game and if they like the new vibe/design and plan to jump in. I think a lot of people will decide after seeing the gameplay on 11th June. As a huge Dragon Age fan, I am really hoping it delivers another great entry in the Dragon Age series, with interesting characters to get to know and an interesting story to become immersed in.

If you compare this to 'The Breach' trailer from Inquisition, the tone is very similar. Also bear in mind that probably 90% of purchasers won't have played a Dragon Age game before - it's been a decade.

To clarify I was just really excited to get a trailer and see more. It has been 10 years since Dragon Age Inquisition. I was blown away by the fact that the game is coming out in Fall 2024, wasn't expecting it to be so soon. My excitement and joy in the moment was genuine and looking back at the trailer and seeing the art style and vibe of the trailer, my feelings are now more tempered and I can see why many are disappointed. It wasn't what I was expecting after previous trailers. But I'm holding off on my judgement until we see actual gameplay on 11th June

Yea, I dont have any hope looks horrible,for any one interested go watch the trailers for the first 3 games then watch the new one they chose this trailer to show us what tone they are going for, I feel so stupid I was going to break my rule of don't pre-order I have now taken this off my wishlist, I'm even replaying inquesisiton so it would be fresh in my mind, the gameplay reveal probley wont help I'm going to guess it will now be a hack and slash.

Yeah I'm definitely noticing that the general consensus is people didn't like the design of the characters or the vibe of the trailer. I was also really surprised at how much lighter it was than previous Dreadwolf trailers. I was expecting a darker more gritty Dragon Age, so this really threw me for a loop.

@@N7Kate Im probley over reacting to be honest and I should wait until the gameplay video drops its a trailer and maybe the game team didn't even have control over how its being marketed, but yea I don't wanna sound like I need doom and gloom but yea to bright and quippy, I just have this bad feeling they will gloss over Solas you know like when a company does a soft reboot like we need to attract new players and ease them in to the world kind of thing, any way love your videos keep being you :)

A lot definitely rides on the gameplay trailer. I think they would have been better to do an in game cinematic cutscene trailer that the cinematic trailer we got. The way the companions were introduced was also a bit weird almost like a hero shooter, like Overwatch.

@BlackMeraBun of course gameplay has the potential to save it, it's a game. If the gameplay is solid, characters solid and writing better than the trailer there is still hope. I agree it looks like a travesty right now but I am going to hold onto that tiny bit of hope until tomorrow. This time tomorrow I should know if I'm picking this up or not, right now I have lost interest ... But that could all change.
