I mean he was brutally stabbed in the gut with the same dagger that killed Varric and gods, it’s hard to imagine him surviving that. Probably died in the fade not long after being pulled in

I assume that is what happens if you don't do Emmrich's companion quest to stop Hezenkoss and destroy her Soul Lantern. Just like Aelia is the mage that Teia and your chosen companion fight if you don't do Neve's companion quest.

@@johnboily561 You obviously have not played the Origins DLC where you play as Darkspawn. Still, just because the other games haven't done that for their main game, doesn't mean this (sorry excuse for a Dragon Age) game shouldn't have. It had all the necessary plot points from previous titles to make that happen. This is literally the first time when the main villain was also a companion in the pervious Game. Not only companion, but romance option. It's a missed opportunity, entirely.

​@@lovefingerboard So I guess Dragon Age Inquisition seems like a bad game to you, because you can't join Corypheus. And Dragon Age Origins too, because you can't join the archdemon either. You can't join the reapers either, so the entire Mass Effect saga is shit too.
