@12:30 The purple bits where it says how a character is reacting or what you've done in conversation reminds me of TellTale games so I am fully expecting those points to be turn points in the story. I also haven't experienced the outcome of any of it, yet, but I have to imagine it means something.

Really enjoying the game but yeah I agree with pretty much everything. The biggest for me is the hand holding. Too many times I already know what to do, I'm just exploring for a bit before moving on and the party keeps repeating what I'm supposed to do. I've gotten used to the art style when I'm actually in the game and just engrossed in what is happening. I was weary of the party and ability limit but in the game it feels perfectly fine for me. Love the CC (esp the hair). So far, the characters are enjoyable. Bellara is my favorite.

@ Yup, already beat it. I put it on easy so I could get through the annoying combat as fast as I could to see how the story would unfold as quickly as I could. I miss actual RPGs. You know, games that don't hold your hand and you can actually ROLEPLAY with different classes and builds. You know, like Origins. Veilguard is an action adventure game and it's not even good at being that.
@MotherMantiss2 ай бұрын
Our impressions are similar. The early game is too much exposition, and it's too dry - there's zero finesse in how the game dumps info on you. It does get better...or maybe you just get used to it; I'm not sure yet. Also, re the Dalish, yeah that is handled poorly if you know the lore at all. The Elves seem completely human in their regard for the elven gods, and I dont like how Solas is presented either but that's too much to go into here. Im playing an Elven Veil Jumper sop imagine how I felt when she was totally clueless on the topic that she's supposed to be a specialist in LOL. And I know EXACTLY who you didn't recognize bc I didn't either until I heard them speak.

At 15 hours if that's what you said I'm not sure you have reached much lore yet just the running commentary to the new people on the basics of what is happening 🤔 I'm curious if you haven't found the lore that I speak of how you will feel about it when you do. Most of it was found finishing a quest I haven't seen many people start yet in thier reaction. One thing some people don't discuss that I have seen is how this is different from 20 years ago because it's been 20 years there is no going back not only have animation and graphics and coding changed but people have pop culture politics attention span i work with people that can't pay attention to anything not flashing and screaming something exciting for more then 10 seconds. Nothing will ever be like it was 20 years ago staring backwards will never make anything better in the now.

My thoughts were its an aggressively mediocre game. 4.5/5 out of 10. As its own game it could have done okay, but as a Dragon Age? is anyone actually going to GENUINELY say its better than the other titles? not by a long shot, and if they do, id look at them sideways. Poor writing for characters, being dry humour and witless comments, while also making characters boring. A lot of hand holdy directions given, like you unblock an obstacle and a party member says "oh look! enemies coming from where youre looking!", character designs looking like they came from a mobile game, and redesigns of others that just make me sad (poor Morrigan, they did her so dirty), your decisions from past games dont actually matter, they cherry picked a few of them but then either completely ignore or retcon the rest, worst of which for me was the Grey Wardens not being able to sense the darkspawn and blight despite that being their literal point of existence and a prominent part of the story, gameplay that just feels uninspired and boring being just another Assassins Creed or God of War, in the mages case Hogwarts Legacy, enemy designs like the darkspawn looking like theyre pulled straight from fortnite.... i could go on and not even get into the shitshow that is Taash. The only good thing i could say is the environments do look quite nice for the most part, but thats not really enough to outweigh the many flaws. As said, its a mediocre game, and by all means people can like it if they GENUINELY like it and arent just following the sheep on either side of the extremes, but 10 years of waiting and this is what we got is a massive let down. If it even gets a nomination for GotY ill be severely disappointed.

It's always good to form your own opinions when it comes to games and big IPs like this that have people mixed one way or the other. I think I'm slightly more positive on the game, really enjoying it like you and I don't understand the hate but I will say, it's an okay game. Not groundbreaking or anything, it's okay and entertaining so far, and goodness me is the combat amazing! Do wish the detonaters were also varied but what can we do. If Mass Effect was a Dragon Age game, this would be it (minus the story telling)...just going off the general feel.

so I haven't played the game myself but here are my thoughts I feel like people overhyped the content creator I feel like inquisiton is better based on how stuff has a noticable difference meanwhile in veilguard if you put glitter on you can hardly see the difference and tattoos they are very limited. I feel like monster hunter wild's beta gave you a better character creator. The dialogue feels like it was written by ubisoft not bioware. Especially for choices that is support be mean you cannot be a jerk. The darkspawn and orgre look bad darkspawn look like they came from black op 6 zombie mode and ogres look so skinny.

Like you i'm loving the combat (also playing as a grey warden warrior) i like the art style a lot. I'm around 17 hours in, done all the side content available. I love the mission based structure of the game. It fits so much better for Bioware games. The characters are easy to find lovable so far. Seeing so many locations we've only read about and had described to us is the best part of the game so far. I do have some building criticisms but wanna play through the game before settling on any opinions yet. Right now i just wanna enjoy being back in the Dragon Age universe!

Oh and the PC version is excellent! Runs really well and non of the common issues you see on a lot of modern AAA games. In terms of criticism again, I’ve left social media due to this game causing such a stir and frankly just wanting to shut it all out. but I’ll say this, I’m willing to hear out fair criticism. Not bs “criticism” that is just well bs… which the latter it’s been next to impossible to escape from. The online discourse that now are just copy pasted tactics by grifters when they’re done grifting off a game and mining on to the next is so predictable and meaningless. It’s nonsense.

Ok, now I finished watching your video. Thank you. I appreciate that you give a very balanced impression. You highlight the things you disliked or that left you dissatisfied just as much as you talked about the stuff you liked. As an OG Dragon Age fan I already prepared myself to be disappointed after the first trailer we got. So, I’m not going to rehash all the valid criticism of the new entry. I think all of us feel and think the same. But I’m 19hours in and am enjoying every minute I play. I have gotten over the art style or the look of the characters for the most part. I’m not annoyed by any of the characters yet which surprised me quite some, yes, looking at you Bellara, you quirky thing. Playing as a rogue using swords/daggers and a bow and loving the combat. Besides drawing all the aggro, that is quite hard on higher difficulties. But the more the party levels up, the better it gets. Maybe I’m too easy please (my partner disagrees) but I’m having a blast so far.

After, 45 hours of playtime I do have some thoughts: Good things: - Combat is super fun - The transmog system - Character customization -hair physics - beautiful environments Bad things: -Photo mode - Too many companion quests -Gold and valuables -treasure chest -merchants Overall, I'm loving the game. I'm planning my next Rook. With hope, they patch a few things as I've had some fps drops in heavy combat. But the game has been very polished.

My biggest problem with this game is that it's boring and tries to be too "polite". You can't be a bad guy in this game... It looks like the creators didn't want to offend anyone by accident. The characters are very simple and their story is not interesting and also the fight is like wtf? Apart from woke propaganda (I haven't encountered viral video scene in the game or maybe I missed something?) the game is just not good.
@gamingeagle192 ай бұрын
Your literal first story choice in the game is whether or not to leave a mayor that got his village blighted behind to die or to save him anyways. So no you can't be a "bad guy" but you're hardly a goody good. Thanks for confirming you haven't played it in the slightest. And thebwoke propaganda speaks volumes of your lack of critical thinking.
