The non-binary character who insists to be called "they", refuses Dragon King's name, saying he should be a Queen. She/they calls the Necromancer "Death Mage", even after he tells her to please not call him that. She/they also attacks other party members appearances and preferences. What a hypocrite. The people who wrote this and self inserted themselves into that character, can't even see the irony that they refuse to acknowledge other character's preferences

Please, can someone, ANYONE, tell me any rational sane explanation WHY Bellara is even a thing? Among every other characters she is the one that can be replaced ENTIRELY by Merrill. Merrill also had history with eluvians, both are shy and socially awkward, both babbling, both are elves. I cannot find a single reason why did they had to create entirely new character instead of use the one that they already had. I mean, of course, any other reason than "visibly asian character" that is somehow supposed to fill the place for the asian representation within the story. That argument I reject from the start since it's not necessary point especially since DA series did already enough retconning so one more woudn't make a difference, so Merrill being asian should not be a problem if the representation is so much necessary. Any suggestions? Anyone?
@LVD3NSАй бұрын
Merrill is a companion that could die in prior entries of Bioware. Additionally, she could also be romanced by Hawke. Obviously, this means such a character comes with a lot of baggage; not to mention, Merrill's story is pretty much over. Her character arc has been done with. So, they created a new character without any of that baggage so that they could have their own character arc. Bellara's main character trait isn't actually her social awkwardness or her tendency to ramble but rather her depression and her tendency to feel guilty over things. These factors translate into her throwing herself at her work to an unhealthy degree, checking over things far more than she ought to, and staying up late in the night and tiring herself out. I'd argue she's one of the better written characters in Veilguard when you look at her because she has inner conflict, a goal if you explore her companion quests, and (I haven't finished the game but I'd guess since the game is addressing this through the quest) an actual character arc that makes sense. Not to mention, she is one of the few party members who reacts appropriately to grave events in the game like Weisshaupt (which you might not expect given the intro to the game presents her as this overly quippy character lmao) The other good characters, I would say, are Emmerich (who's just kinda cool, and has a backstory and a depth to him other companions don't really have) and Davrin (again, he feels real, he's not super quippy, he has good quests and a good goal and is used appropriately in the story). Lucanis had potential but the execution is leaving me wanting so far, Harding was lame at first but is starting to be more interesting now that we're looking into her magic, and Neve also had potential but finds herself underutilized and not executed so well. As for Taash I agree with literally everyone else, it's a shit character
@przemyslawwasowski7450Ай бұрын
@@LVD3NS Ok, I see your point. That however doesn't explain this entirely. "such a character comes with a lot of baggage; not to mention, Merrill's story is pretty much over. Her character arc has been done with" - That never stopped them before. Morrigan, Leliana both had their stories "technically" ended in origins. Both had continuations DESPITE BOTH being possibly dead. Oh, and do we remember Kieran? Well, I apperently CANNOT remember him since he never existed apparently. Also, that "baggage" doesn't influence neither the messsage nor character. Simply get the story and add some reasoning to that WHY this character would went in that direction. Makes perfect sense. Since history has been changed so the "canon" is pretty much stated with only minor (3? If I remember correctly) detailes that may be different I don't see why reducing that one extra thing would be an issue. "Bellara's main character trait isn't actually her social awkwardness or her tendency to ramble but rather her depression and her tendency to feel guilty over things" - I never said that was the main point of that character. You either misunderstood or purposfully misrepresent my point here (no, I will not give you benefit of the doubt, I'm assuming that you do the latter, I'm too tired to be the one who respects everyone else while not getting even half of it in exchange) which already makes me not want to hear any further argument as if they were made in good faith. Just letting you know. My point was, if you are going to use THE EXACT SAME CHARACTER trope, the same personality, race etc. just use the same character. IF you're going to make entirely new character, don't make them so similar so the comparison is TOO EASY to make. "tendency to feel guilty over things. These factors translate into her throwing herself at her work to an unhealthy degree, checking over things far more than she ought to, and staying up late in the night and tiring herself out." - exacly what would Merrill do. Her entire story with Eluvians was pretty much her doing exact same thing and if her clan was killed because of this... here's the guilt. "Not to mention, she is one of the few party members who reacts appropriately to grave events in the game" - You mean she is one of the few in DAV while I'd argue most in previous games would be the same? That's a terrible point given the fact on radicalisation of opinions about the game. It's either GENIUS and BRILLIANT or SHIT and TERRIBLE. You make a point about characters being "not-that-bad" but all I can see is Emmerich (I agree, he's the most universally liked character. (I agree with that mostly because he is the most distanced from everything else)) BUT I must burst your bubble about him being in any mean original. Such character was already created. He is just a copy of Lantry from Tyranny with class being necromancer as it's been seen that the concept of this school of magic was underdeveloped in Inquisition by having only Dorian and Cassandra mentioning it briefly. Emmerich even looks like Lantry, the face, the hair, the outfit (a little bit more elegant but that just so he would fit into the world). About Davrin, honestly I have no opinion. He's not interesting to me. Lucanis again is a character that mimic real-world characteristics from real-world nations. Bellara is (non-indian) asian and Lucanis is Spanish. I understand SOME things are supposed to be pararells but involving real-world races and cultures to a fictional ones is as bad as Taash "I'm non-binary" using modern launguage to explain phenomenons in fantasy settings. I'm not saying they can't be that, but please Bioware, explain this to me NOT using direct launguage. I haven't heard the word "trans" about Krem, but I understood what he was and had no problem with that. Such direct message makes you detest the character since it works like She-Hulk series, breaking 4-th wall instead of working as in-universe message. So, make Lucanis Antivan, not Spanish. One base on the other, but is NOT entirely the same. It cannot be. The same with Bellara. My theory is EXACLY so there would be a VISIBLY asian character in the game. But the thing is, we had Vivienne who happened to be black and there was no real-world racism towards her or anyone based on the merit of color of skin. THAT'S alone makes such representations like Lucanis and Bellara's real-world nationalities pointless. Let's remind ourselves that while Vivienne was one of most hated character in entire series (oh no, conservative (yeah, right) black person, how-ever will I survive) and lately controversial ENOUGH Wyll in BG3 was reduced from complicated beta version to one-dimentional morally character. No wonder he's most forgotten character. It is implied that it was the fear of creators of making a controversial minority character as others did. And look at this, we are not supposed to dislike minority characters like Lucanis, Bellara or Dorian because they are OBVIOUSLY good. Taash is good distraction from other mistakes or bland writing so let's ignore it's existence entirely. Let's not focus on that because I don't believe this wasn't on purpose to, by comparison, make other characters feel better, more relevant or seem better written. I don't understand why on earth bring back Harding an additional character to have ANY connection to the rest of the story. That's my point, if Harding is ok, why not Merrill? They could have add new character here. Why didn't they? And why they did for Bellara? Or, hear me out, they could have added Valta. That would make more sense since she already had contact with one Titan. Why give such connection to the one that supposively never had contact with one and it is said that she was from the surface in hinterlands. That makes believability of her connections to the titans lesser than let's say Valta's. Neve takes place as the one who "introduces" you to the place and knowledge of the world, such as it is. Dante's Virgil in Tevinter. In origins such introduction was made by Duncan as a narrator, in DA2 by Varric, in DAI by Cassandra (mostly). A some sort of character that is a tutorial character. The one who is "the deepest" in the world, has the most knowledge about what-the-hell-is-going-on in the world. Since DAV is suggesting different approach than most games up to this point ("I have amnesia", "I just woke up", "I'm new to this place", "I'm just a player, explain to me the very basic of day-to-day existence that my character lived for over (at least) 20 years" etc.) such character seems to be not really needed. Maevaris Tilani could have easly feel Neve's role BUT here I believe this was good decision. Similarily like Cassandra who was in different type of media, Neve wasn't directly in previous story, like Rhys and Evangeline, she was in books and not in games and yet mentioning or even involving one in one or another direction of medias is good strategy to connect different media's stories to make them more connected so they would feel more like one whole picture instead of being some sort of spin-offs or alternate realities or even multiversums. In short: - Merrill is NOT a character that necessarilly is done. Or at least we know nothing about it. If we can kill Leliana in Origins and than she comes back, that rule should expand to Merrill as well. - I still see Bellara as not using rule of Occam (is that really how he is written in english? Weird.) razor. Not necessary character when a proper one already exists. - Characters are bland overall and are made to look better by creating (on purpose I presume) a terrible one that catches all negative attention.

@@przemyslawwasowski7450 I want to start my reply by saying I was not trying to purposefully misrepresent any of your points, nor was I trying to ascribe to your post things you never said by speaking on Bellara's characteristics. I simply wanted to share my thoughts on who Bellara was as a character and why I thought she wasn't so bad. I apologize if this came across as a bad faith attempt to derail the conversation or to misrepresent your post; that was not my intention at all. Admittedly, Bellara and Merrill are very similar characters. Actually, my first thoughts when I saw Bellara was that she seemed a little like a rethread -- or a mix -- of Tali and Merrill; she's interested in what is essentially technology, is young and socially awkward, and has similar personality traits to Tali and Merrill. With that out of the way, let me address each point of your post, one by one. You compare Merrill, in this situation, to Leliana and Morrigan. The problem is that Leliana and Morrigan were not companions in the subsequent games; they were advisors. In fact, the only recurrent companion in Dragon Age has been Varric, who appeared in Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition both. Don't quote me on that either, but Varric was far less interesting in Inquisition than in Dragon Age 2; his character had already been explored in Dragon Age 2, so what could be done further with Varric in Inquisition was a little limited. Hence, comparing Morrigan and Leliana's situation to Merrill and Bellara isn't, in my opinion, an apt comparison. Veilguard also wanted its characters to be romanceable -- and this is important to Dragon Age fans, believe it or not, because romances have always been very popular, and one of the main sources of attention for Dragon Age as a series. Romances also increase fan engagement in the franchise; a lot of art, fanfiction, and discussion revolves around these potential relationships with each companion. This was also true of Mass Effect. Whether you agree with this decision or not is up to you, but I believe that, if the developers wanted each companion to be romanceable, Merrill could not be an option, because she could potentially be romanced by Hawke. Having that be out of the canon completely or having her break up with Hawke after the game for seemingly no reason would have gone over even worse for the game. I also stand by what I said when I said Merrill's story is done and that there probably isn't much more to explore from her. Her story revolved mostly around her clan and her struggles to fit in, alongside her problems with the keeper, problems with demons, and her willingness to use forbidden means, like blood magic or the Eluvian, to do certain things. As an aside, that's already very different from Bellara's character, who doesn't struggle with these things at all and instead struggles with guilt she shouldn't feel and with doing the right thing always but not necessarily being able to. That's not to mention Veilguard takes place around twelve years after Dragon Age 2. That's a lot of time for people to change; Merrill, if I recall correctly, was characterized by her youthfulness, but also by the fact that she was next in line to be a Dalish keeper. If that's no longer there, then Merrill already changes as a character. This is why using Merrill in place of Bellara wouldn't work, or at least would be much more complicated for the developers. I suspect that it is also these reasons that motivated the developers to make a new character. As for your further discussion on the other characters, I think all I have to say about it is, never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence. I've already spoken on Bellara and why I personally warmed up to her, so I won't pad out my comment with more of that. I'll just say I honestly don't really mind that she's Asian. The Veil Jumpers around her aren't really Asian either (well; some of them are) but I assume the elves in Arlathan come from all over to explore their past. And besides asian girls are usually qt3.1415 and I would say Bellara kinda fits that... Emmerich is cool. I have Tyranny, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I therefore am unfamiliar with the character you speak of, but if what you said is true, it is somewhat disheartening to see. Still, Emmerich's quest, which I'm getting into, is pretty fun, and Manfred is a cool guy to have around too. I'm intrigued to see where his story goes next. I like Davrin because he seems like a well-rounded, well-written character. I wasn't expecting that given Bioware's track record with black characters (JACOB TAYLOR LOL) or Wyll's lackluster character writing in BG3 (I agree with you when you say he was neutered in the game. Dude has literally no character arc or character development, he is just a boring good guy). His relationship with Assan gives him a good path to character development, but he also reacts quite a bit to the game's events, especially those concerning wardens, and has a goal and purpose that I can understand very well. Finally, I like that he and my Warden Rook are bros. It feels good to discuss warden matters with him and to explore life as a warden again. I missed that from DAO. Harding started off unimpressive. Sometimes, she acted like a child. After the first act however, her quests genuinely become interesting, and her gift for titan magic is genuinely an intriguing storyline to follow. She also feels more fleshed out now, speaking about her time with the Inquisition and her experience as a scout, and sharing her thoughts on things that are happening or on her magic gift. She is not my favorite, but I also find her relatively good. Not great, but good enough. I think using Valta might have been a good idea though, honestly, but I can't fault them for bringing back Harding given that she was one of the more popular and memorable side characters of Inquisition (and many people wanted to romance her). As for the assassin of the party, I don't really see an issue with Lucanis appearing to be Spanish. It feels mostly natural to me that people from different parts of Thedas would look and speak in different ways, and it's honestly fairly consistent that the Crows in Treviso look like that and talk like that. I see no issue there. The problem mainly lies in the fact that there was more that could be done with him that just wasn't. Spite feels underutilized, and he talks way too much about coffee. Apart from that he has some highs in his writing, namely everything relating to the Crows and Treviso, and the flavor around his relationship with Spite, as well as his banter. Neve is... okay. She does not stand out in this cast. She is not badly written or anything, but I find her mediocre overall. She is the average jaded noir detective who's cold and guarded because she doesn't want to get close in case she gets hurt. There might be more to her storyline that I haven't explored yet, but so far she leaves neither a bad impression nor a good impression. I will say I find her voice fits her well, even if a lot of people say her voice actress was bad. She does sound like a jaded, stoic, guarded detective tired of everything going on. Taash does not seem like a purposefully badly written character to me. She more feels like a self-insert, or a rushed character with little thought put into her, as opposed to someone you are meant to dislike. This is mainly because the game forces you to agree with her and you can hardly criticize her at all even when she pulls actual bullshit in the game. It really just comes across as if she's her writer's favorite character, or straight up self-insert (her writer was non-binary as well.)

@@LVD3NS Part I "I want to start my reply by saying..." - understood, in that case, fair enough, no harm done... for now. "The problem is that Leliana and Morrigan were not companions in the subsequent games; they were advisors" - that was not my point. My point was regarding mostly your answer that Merrill can potentially die in DA2 which could make result with her being unavailable when the same happened with Leliana, Morrigan, additionally Anders technically Wynne and Shale (books imply that they lived so technically according to the rules stated by Veilguard they did live) etc. It was about potentially dead character returning even though they technically shouldn't. Leliana got back in Inquisition (I don't remember if she returns in DA2 if she was "struck down" in the temple of sacred ashes) even if she died. Not about them being in the next iteration of the series. About romances - that is mostly true, although Hawke is not here anymore and I don't remember if that was addressed in Veilguard, but it could be arreanged in the game then and make another plot point of romance and at the same motive as being able to love after your first love died. If I remember correctly only Aveline and Cassandra had such motive. I'm not that attached to that point so I'm not going to defend it more than I feel I should or want. Clarifying Hawke's death and "forcing" his/her death is a non-issue since most of world-state is forced to some sort of produced canon. "Her story revolved mostly around her clan and her struggles to fit in, alongside her problems with the keeper, problems with demons, and her willingness to use forbidden means, like blood magic or the Eluvian, to do certain things." - That's true, but I'm afraid that's not how our minds work. Her story THEN was finished. Life goes on and eventually we do something else with our lives, go further, learn new things, involve oursleves in new things. Nothing shows from what you said that the same things couldn't be pinned to Merrill. Also, this could be a good opportunity to show other motive, PTSD, give her nightmares related to her past and let her make peace with it. "This is why using Merrill in place of Bellara wouldn't work, or at least would be much more complicated for the developers. I suspect that it is also these reasons that motivated the developers to make a new character." - and yet it was not a problem to complicate things with Harding... I see your point, yet I'm not convinced. "It's too hard" is rarely an excuse when rest of the story is not believable as well. "I honestly don't really mind that she's Asian" - It's not that I mind that, it's more like it feels to as this game took too seriously the matter of representation as of directly related to our world. In fantasy where real-life issues are paralleled it's not the best idea to brute-force real life concepts because you can mess up the message. There is a reason characters like Vivienne or Wyll (BG3) never expirienced racism from our real life due to color of their skin. It is important in storytelling to detect about what world we are talking about. Bellara can be asian or not. My issue is that it seems extremely representational which shows especially for me since I'm not american and "showing representaion" is made in VERY AMERICAN way (meaning, you have to have minority characters such as sexual one(of any kind), a black, a mexican, an asian. But for example no slavs, no nordics... I wonder why...) "Emmerich is cool [...], but if what you said is true, it is somewhat disheartening to see" - I wouldn't say it should be disheartening. It was just my assesment based on knowing the tropes such as this. I could just as well compare Emmerich to Wynne or some other characters with such traits (can't remember them in this minute). It was only to show that it's not as original like "O wow, there was never such character before!!!1!1!". Inspiration exist, and maybe Sylvia Feketekuty (writer of the character) played Tyranny and thought about creating original character and subcountiously her thoughts led her to this. Even copyright law recognise that as valid. tyranny.fandom.com/wiki/Lantry - that so you could compare their appearances. For me their head shapes, eyes (just eyes, not brows), noses, jaw shape, even face expressions (as limited for Tyranny) are similar. Obviously, NOT the same, facial hair are different and quality of clothing is different but that is more in-world-characteristics difference. Also cultural one. And here I discovered that I wrote his name wrongly. It's Emmrich not Emmerich. I misstook his name with the werewolf guy from Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter. " I think using Valta might have been a good idea though, honestly, but I can't fault them for bringing back Harding given that she was one of the more popular and memorable side characters of Inquisition (and many people wanted to romance her)." - THAT... is half of my issue here. As you said, romances are VERY important for this game, I agree, BUT Bioware was dodging this topic for a long time, dating a dwarf I mean (moronic sentiment in my opinion, it's not the same "type" of dwarf) and now suddenly it's not an issue? Varric returning in Inquisition was part of that excuse. We have semi-taken guy from previous game who is not interested i relationship to not introduce new character who could be a dateable dwarf. Harding as much as could be flirted with, her "dating" in Inquisition was on the same level as Sebastian romance - not really recognized by the game. I'm also do believe that when making a present for someone (and creating a game in that case) you cannot only focus on what people want and expect from you (in that case it would be fan service), but also give something new, something from yourself. When I was 8 for my birthday I wanted expantion pack for the sims 1 but instead my uncle gave me Icewind Dale series which led me to next RPGs and then later to further games. It wasn't what I wanted, but retrospectively, it was what I needed. I think, putting Valta in the game would be better option simply because of it. Harding can appear as childish because from what I remember she's still young or at least she is meant to be seen as such. So that I wouldn't count as bad thing. I'd think about it as similar to Sera situation. Still, kind of off-putting to place surface adrastian dwarf as one to have connection to the stone. I mean, I get that, AND I get the implications, but still, Valta is right there. I'm just afraid that mass firing in Bioware showed that new employees might have not even played the previous games. With BG3 I can forgive that, different studio, but here? And to clarify your previous point, no, malice and incompetence are not so far from eachother. While malice imply intention, the results stays many times the same and for a receiver it doesn't make much differnce. At least not for me. Intentions vs results. Old philosophical matter. Already gotten old and boring. "As for the assassin of the party, I don't really see an issue with Lucanis appearing to be Spanish" - as I said, it's not an issue per se that he is or isn't directly of different culture. It's more of an issue of conflating real-life characteristics with the fantasy written ones. You DON'T want to do that in your fantasy. That's a bad writing. Some words "Braska" for "damn" that are Antivan are already set. When crating already established (even if limited) form of launguage in-world conflating it and mixing with real world lauguage as I've seen they recall their family members in spanish makes it no-longer be inspired by Spain and it becomes to BE Spain. That is important detail. Not so much important for those who don't dwell in mechanics of the worldbuilding and important details. As I already said, Veilguard seem to be targetted mostly for american receiver who WANTS such representaions, who demands them, who sees those as those close to them, as those identifiable for them. American receiver doesn't need representation of a character who have alcohol problem, is cleptomaniac, lived/raised in poverty and raises their young in fear of a slipper (or some other indoor footwear - which itself is incommunicable on it's own). To be continued...

Lore is that male dragons never grow bigger than drakes, grow wings, or establish territory. Only females do that so only females can become high dragons. If Dragon King means “male dragon that has ascended to rule over other dragons” then yes, it would be inappropriate to object. No drake would be higher than the high dragons. If Dragon King means “male who rules over dragons” then it should be just fine and Taash is just being petulant because she wants to be the ruler. Still don't understand why a fantasy RPG with a seemingly serious, dark and dramatic main narrative has to force laughably bad sitcom humor into itself, in a manner that it cannot be avoided. It completely ruins the tone and atmosphere of the game. Compare the Yakuza games; especially dramatic and serious main story, supplemented with ridiculous and humorous side activities. The difference is that you can avoid these things completely if you want to. When you want to progress the main narrative, it stays consistant in its tone, and when you're in the mood for funny and light-hearted content, you can do the side activities. Veilguard shoves the humour and sitcom onto unavoidable sections of the game, and force feeds it unto the player

Taash and Bellara are the most insufferable characters I've seen in a while, and what makes it worse is probably how confidently the devs expected them to be otherwise given how obnoxiously tryhard they feel

Out of context is the perfect way to describe this game. This game is wild, you get done fighting a god in this cool boss fight to only be greeted back at your base by two women arguing about a dress and how one doesn’t feel comfortable being a woman anymore. You can’t avoid it either, you are forced to partake and listen to this conversation. It’s straight up propaganda. I couldn’t imagine being the son of a maga guy and hearing this stuff coming from his son’s bedroom because he wanted to play dragon age. Call 911 pls because dad is punching the drywall over trans elves. I’m all for people living the life they want and being accepted but stop shoving it down everyone’s throats. This stuff shouldn’t be anywhere near a fantasy rpg.

to be honest some of them are even funny (yes the level of jokes is the lowest but you can smile at some of them) it's a shame the game ended like that, but that's what happens when you first check the correctness boxes and diversity and then the game itself

I think Tash is a great character . She truly shows us that a trash character must not only be hypocritical on the surface but hypocritical to the very core of the character

0:29 I disagree with this one, it might be the only time I've chuckled at anything related to Veilguard. We're making the problem worse and leaving. I'm sure a lot of the people who played only wish they could choose who to inflict those two on.

They must've been smoking some powerful crack when they designed Taash because holy hell what an unappealing character visually and personality wise. The one compliment I will give this game is the hair material. Looks pretty good and doesn't suffer from crappy lighting. Might be a bit too clean for Dragon Age, but i can't deny it looks nice.

The problem with a race of elves not being a concise race just gives more questions. It kinda bothers me. If they are all gonna be black, make them black. If they all are asian make them asian. Goodness.

Stop calling it millennial writing! I was born in 1986 and I’m almost 40! I didn’t grow with any of this woke crap! I didn’t have the internet until I was 20 years old!

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I alternated the title of the video, calling it a millennial writing wasn't very accurate. Unlike Bioware, I'm always ready to listen to you guys. 👍
@DwyrielАй бұрын
According to wikipedia millennials are anyone from gen y or gen x combined (meaning anyone born early 1980s to late 1990/early 2000). I do agree it's not 100% accurate but it's still millennial writing, since it's the later half (Gen X) who are writing this kind garbage, people who are 20 to 30 y/o right.. my generation :)
@francesco3772Ай бұрын
@@Dwyrielbelieve me, if only you guys would watch certain movies or read certain novels from 40y ago, you would find some truly TERRIBLE writing, and the hallmarks of boomer writing have nothing to do with it: it's just bad writers are born in every generation.
@DwyrielАй бұрын
@@francesco3772 There's bad writers in every generation, lots of them. Point is, if you analyse the writing on this game, it is, by definition, what we call "millennial writing". Marvel style conversation, "quirky comebacks" and jokes, modern slangs like "oof", and the weird "comedic timing" in some scenes with the poor dialog.
@amycharriАй бұрын
The issue I have is that the game doesn't allow characters to yell, be angry, or swear. Also, in most cases, things are explicitly spelt out for us, where they should allow us to read between the lines. It might come across as bad because the dialogue lacks depth a lot of the time, and I don’t feel like they react naturally. I would still encourage people to give the game a try. It may be Marvelised, but the game is entertaining, and it has its moments.

multiple ethnicities of elf/dwarf existing within your fantasy setting cheapens them and makes the setting worse overall. It's a free opportunity to keep those non-human races seeming more alien when there's only one ethnicity of them, it also cheapens the existence of humans in your setting, where adaptability and diversity are usually the human strengths over the elves/dwarves, who have better magic/tech. if the same ability to select environmentally advantageous phenotypes specific to a region is observed within your setting's elves, it also cheapens their strengths. Shouldn't they have been relying on magic for everything?
@Kevbo2040Ай бұрын
I just genuinely cannot believe how absolutely trash this game is. The writing is so god awful it's unbelievable, but everyone knows that by now. What I don't hear nearly as much of is just how pathetically amateur the animations are. It's seriously like Bioware swapped the Mass Effect Andromeda animation team over to Veilguard. Everyone is stiff and blank and dead-eyed, and the few expressions of emotion don't make any sense. Like 7:58, why is the Asian elf smirking if she's angry and emphatic? She SORT OF looks angry AFTER speaking? And then the black elf is supposed to be apologetic but her face is as empty as the Biioware staff's skulls.
@calypsosmuse776915 күн бұрын
It's crazy how many scenes they are ripping off from inquisition just worse. Cassandra reading swords and shields was cute and we never knew how raunchy it was when except for from how embarrassed she seemed. Dorian discussing his sexuality with his father is actually heart wrenching when he says he tried to change him. None of this comes even close to that level of dialogue
