I am fascinated by the logic that a downplayer uses. When a good feat happens, like Roshi's one when he destroyed the moon with his Kamehameha it turns out that it is "an outlier", because it supposedly contradicts what was previously shown and happens infrequently, but when it is a controversial or anti-feat event in where they find the opportunity to lower the character's level, it can be used without problem, no matter how stupid and contradictory it is with what has been previously shown in the series/manga, right there it turns out that "narrative consistency", or “frequency of the event” does not matter. Hypocrisy par excellence.
