Max Richter if you want to "git gud" you need to learn Frame Data and learn number inputs aswell. Frame Data is the most important thing to learn to get an advantage against casuals in this game. Learn what's safe on block and what isn't. Also need to learn startup frames on all moves. You'll see "+3" or "-3" +3 means you have 3 extra frames after a certain move or after someone blocked it -3 means your oppents has an advantage instead of you. This button map will become your best friend (PS4 Layout) Square=1 Triangle=2 X=3 Circle=4 J=Jump Jf=Jump Forward JC=Jump Cancel QCF=Down, forward QCF=Down, Back And there's more!!! Oh boy.... going to be a long road for you. Arc System works makes the best fighting games... but for fighting game players. I suggest picking up guilty gear so you can start practicing now.

Make sure you take it easy on yourself. You’re gonna lose a lot so don’t let it get to you and just try to learn and adapt by thinking about why you lost and what you can do or learn for next time so you don’t lose the same way.

1:44 You do not need precise timing to combo escape. You can just HOLD a face button while you are getting combo'd and you will flip out in the direction you are holding. Just like in BlazBlue

I struggle to understand air combos in this game. In mvc you could literally mash any sequence of buttons and cancel into specials at the end, but in this game certain air normals don't cancel into others and some air normals don't cancel into specials. The best I've been doing is combo into launcher, super dash, L, L xx special, teleport, L, L xx special. But I see people online do way longer combos than that.

The game will give you button customization, in the beta there was no dedicated button for sparkling blast, taunt, ki charge, dragon rush, or z vanish. In my opinion the best way to set it up though is to put z vanish in left stick click and sparkling blast on right stick, it’s easy to throw out there when needed. No need to bind charge since special and light charge and you won’t use it much anyways and rb and rt are very good for dragon rush and super dash

That’s because in the beta those controls weren’t default, you could set them where you wanted, block is tilting stick away from attack, charge is light and special or on any button you set it to, dash was talked about, it’s RT, teleport and sparkling blast can be set to any control

TGA Thank you for all the information I've just got the game, even though I've been playing Jump Force, I'm still much more of a MK, Street Fighter, too injustice & Marvel vs Capcom games. You're right. I missed the most basic of the basic stuff. It's a "back to block" game, meaning you move the analog stick or press the d-pad in the direction opposite of your opponent. Forcing you to change the direction when your opponent executes stuff like the "Instant Transmission Kamehameha" or "Meteor Strike" which teleport behind you.
