If you are having a problem with the up light on the combo he shows at 2:18, I have a tip for you that took me hours of practice to learn the hard way.It’s simple, you can’t spam light as you are doing the down heavy. You have you do the down heavy and then the up light, if you press the up light before the down heavy has hit, the up light will not happen. Pls like so others can see.
@NoirBéniProper3 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU!! I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong and I also learned I needed to press up and light at the same time, I was pressing up then pressing light and it wasn't working, thank you again!
@TheAzala3 жыл бұрын
@@NoirBéniProper your welcome, also removing the two lights at the beginning will end up making the combo do more damage. Also, you know how he says you need do jML after you jump? Well you can do jMLL for more damage, and you can also do jMLL after the following super dash. In the end the combo should do 4,185 damage. After you do this, you can also try some character specific combos if you want. I suggest TinyTorgue and KuwangerKRT’s combo tutorials.

I just wanted to personally thank you for this video. I got Fighterz about a week ago and was struggling with the BnB combo despite looking at guides from Roof and other KZbinrs. What threw me off is that Roof's BnB had Up M after neutral M, which I kept flubbing. It feels so much more natural to press L twice and then do Up Heavy into two more lights. The way you explain things were also better since Roof and others tend to just put combination without explaining the timing. On the last portion of the BnB, I struggle too since I couldn't go from down heavy to up light fast enough until I found that I can do it using the joy stick for down heavy and using the d-pad for the up lights seamlessly. Same thing with the up dash since I couldn't get it 40% of the time on the joy stick (I know you're supposed to used the d-pad for everything, but I can't do quarter circle on a d-pad). Now, I can get the whole BnB at least 85% of the time, and the first third about 95% on UI Goku and Goku Blue. Struggling on Kelfa though since her second L attack are kicks so I think I am pressing M. Granted, this is all in practice and haven't tried it under pressure yet, but I am trying to get the BnB down to muscle memory so I don't panic mash and then practice on the CPU before I considered jumping into PvP. Overall, you gave me a solid base to work on and I am surprised that I actually learned the BnB at all since I usually suck at combos in every fighting game I ever played.

Here's a tip that I figured out for the combo that helped me out a lot: you can immediately start hitting them after your super dash if you want to, but ideally you want to wait a second because the superdash itself has hitstun and you will continue to rise during that hitstun. By waiting a second, you start a little higher, giving you have time to immediately jump and still catch them, letting you hit the combo more reliably.

Quick tip for everybody. The way damage scaling works in this game, it’s slightly more advantageous to do MLL down H instead of LLH. After the standing M, jump forward and immediately press M (the timing is very tight), then quickly press L twice. Jump after the second light and perform the same sequence again. This time, perform a down heavy instead of a jump, superdash, then input ML and a neutral H. This does more damage than the combo shown in this video, but you can use this one without any real problems.

I'm not 100 percent sure but maybe because the longer the combo the less damage it does so maybe because your making it shorter it'll do more damage????
@Ethan-mv6wq3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I answered my own question right after asking it. The scaling on the double light into the rest of the combo is kinda bad.

Kinda scummy to change the title to match 2023 for a 3 year old video🤷♀️ is this outdated information from patches? Edit: no, it’s not outdated, so I respect the hustle of recycling useful information. Ignore my ignorant ass
@NeggyNegi9 ай бұрын
No, the information in this video is not outdated as it covers basic controls and concepts at the root of dbfz and fighting games in general. The only information that could potentially have changed is the universal combo structure and the blockstring combo structure, but dbfz still has 2M > 5M as the pop up for most characters and after that you're just adding on strings and chains. j.LL is still a common string in the game and j.2H is still the air pop up for most characters. The jumps and dashes are just acting as a cancel to reset the chain and extend the combo. The blockstring combo is your standard starter chain that'd work in basically any fighter that uses a chain system. Move up the chain and end on a special. I definitely get being wary though. If you're just starting out and this is your first fighting game or first anime fighter, a lot of it feels very specific and maybe even almost arbitrary. Why is the universal combo in this video 2M > 5M > jc > j.LL > j.2H > SD > j.LL > j.2H > jc > j.LLL? Once you play a few different games or mess around in training enough, though, you realize how much of it is based on universal concepts. The Universal here is a knock up, canceled into a chain, canceled into another chain, then canceled into a full auto combo string that ends on a knockdown. And once you see the combo as that, you start to get ideas on how you can change it, or if you're using a character that can't use this universal, how you can experiment to find a combo that does something similar. With the game being as old as it is, and with how much the game changes with every patch, there's a lot of outdated info with combo routes and such for specific characters, but the info in this video is still solid to get your feet wet!

@@NeggyNegi perfect! That was a really good way to help me understand exactly what I’ve been looking for the past few days. I’m gonna grab a few characters that look cool and figure it out from there! I remember Maximillian Dood had a video out FOREVER ago about how to extend combos and it seems like even that combo structure is the one being shown and talked about here. I guess my fear of how deep anime games seem overrode my common sense! I appreciate the understanding

A quick tip i noticed: android 21 can't finish the combo properly as her air heavy ( or third press of air light) dosen't knock the opponent down instead if you play 21 you should do Up light-light-connoisseur cut- hors d'oeuvre stab- lvl 1 or 3. And for easier reference connoisseur cut is her absorb/move steal grab and hors d'oeuvre stab is her dive slam thing Also I appreciate using the actual inputs like saying " down heavy" instead of "2h" i will never understand people who use things like 2h in beginners guides since chances are if you're watching a beginners guide you wont know what they mean

Yes there is. I suck at fighting games and i started playing yesterday. I may not be the best but i've been matchmaking with people around my rank and i've gotten fun experience. ven when i'm defeated i don't get that mad because i actually get to PLAY the fight instead of getting stuck in some kind of infinite combo.
