If only the same could've been said about the game itself. Granted I had tons of fun playing it back in the day, but even then I could tell it wasn't a very good game. I think I mostly just enjoyed it because it was the only Dragon Ball game available to me at the time without relying on emulation, so that was enough for me to enjoy it more than the game deserved. My friends and I would do the same thing (maybe). It was fun play fighting each other while having beam struggles, and making "teleport" sounds to simulate hyper fast movement. I even once made a tabletop DBZ RPG that one of my friends really liked, but that was lost ages ago.

The intro song is so good I still get goosebumps. Remember when I saw this intro the first time when Vegeta and goku clashed hard fist on fist knee on knee and smiled to each other and trunks slashes some robots with his sword and his hair flies stylish in the wind. This was the best part of the game for me xD ! As for the gameplay, it was a bit slow and clunky but still great for those times... but as a kid with the Japanese version, I couldn't figure out how to fire a single blast/super move for the life of me xDD
