Absolutely love this intro. I was never into rap when I was younger, as a kid I used to watch GT and this intro I remember loving it. Definitely opened the door to rap for me. Shorty is amazing, this intro goes so hard. I read his 2015 interview on this intro and it was so interesting to find out what went on with the production of it. He wrote the lyrics and gave it his best and it shows. I tried watching the dub cut with the japanese music but just couldn't enjoy it because it's too light hearted. I need that gritty dark, serious music haha. Love GT :D

DID YOU KNOW: GT stands for Goddamn Trash? Toriyama apparently hated the fact that despite the manga ended, the companies profiting off of Dragon Ball still wanted to continue for obvious bank. While he did work on character designs and the initial plot, he snuck in a double meaning for GT, as he was a master of English wordplay (as you can see with DB character names). He knew much about vehicles and said that since GT took place in space, that it stood for Grand Touring. But in actuality, it was a bamboozle, and he actually named it Goddamn Trash.

GT was such a great series with so much potential and a new awesome Saiyan transformation... It just fell short and it had plotholes out the ass. Even though it's considered by Toriyama as "The Ultimate Side Story", I think the fandom making AF and things like that do GT justice where it fell short. Don't get me wrong, I think GT was very unique to what stories it tried to tell with that Dragon Ball twist, it's just Super feels more like what a sequel to Z should be like. Granted there's not much explanations at the time of writing this comment, I think it's cool being written by Toyotarou, the one who wrote AF, and Toriyama together. The best of both worlds I'd say.

I've pointed out numerous of things wrong with GT; However, it did have a great story and other qualities in it's own right. But you are correct including he nostalgia part. I'm happy that they tried to expand the DBZ franchise, but in my opinion, it didn't turn out well. For one, it doesn't feel connected with the rest of the series. As well all know, it wasn't made by the original author AND the artwork is very different and the colors are dull (which create a sad tone). Second, the plot of being in outer space and (as the viewer) being trapped with the same 4 characters for the whole 1st season made it boring. Of course, the 2nd season gets better... but it was still a disappointment. I respect and support anyone who likes GT, but I wanted to put my opinion out there.

The first time I watched GT I hated it with every fiber of my being. I'm trying to re-watch it now that I'm older and can maybe appreciate it without the nostalgia hate. Only finished a few episodes so far and I gotta say it's not as awful as I remember. The tone is off from Z, especially after having just watched Battle of Gods, but I think I may have been too hard on it the first time. We'll see just how bad it gets, but I'm hopeful now that I'll only be a little underwhelmed instead of flat out enraged like I was as a kid.

Sports Life My biggest problems with GT were: 1. it seemed confused. Half felt like it just wanted to expand on the universe, planets, races, like Pokemon Chronicles, but they didn't have the balls to use a mostly original cast, or a different story for every episode, & spend a third of them looking at some of the lesser characters. They could have had the super sayian Bardock episode in GT for example. 2. They didn't have a main villain until about half way through the series, in the form of baby. Look at DBZ for instance. Very rarely were there episodes that didn't include the looming threat for the season, weather it be sayians, freeza, & his men, Cell & the androids, or the majin. 3. Not much is explained. I'm currently re-watching the whole series, but I don't think they say anything about why the dragonballs turned dark star. Epilouge: Gt feels like it couldn't find an identity, & that's why many people consider it non-cannon to the Dragon ball franchise. Now that said, Why do I still love it? I grew up on all three dragonball series. The opening theme (Your Spell) always gives me goose bumps of joy, & the second season was as over the top as any dragonball Z saga. The animation was slightly different, but still just as badass to watch. Sadly, I still consider it non cannon, mainly due to battle of gods, & the plot holes that come in GT if they exist in the same universe.
