My headcannon is that there’s a 1 hour time limit for mortals and permanent for gods, however the gas in buu’s body can undo both divine and mortal fusions.

Your head canon is exactly what they explained during the Goku Black arc and now Daima. It makes sense because Vegito defused immediately inside Buu, Vegito hit the time limit vs Zamasu, and now Kibito and Shin defused due to Buu’s body

You can headcanon whatever you like, but the fact of the matter is Toriyama never wrote the 1 hour limit, that was purely the anime team and Toyotaro, Toriyama did not have Vegito appear in the Goku black arc at all. So, he doesn't care one single bit about that rule, he probably didn't even know they wrote it in, since he didnt watch the anime.

There are a lot of his bullet points that became public and a lot of talks in interviews about what the anime team or Toyotaro added by themselves. For example, ultra instinct was not Toriyama's, other than the design. Which is why it accomplished jack shit in the end. The bullet points said that they defeat Jiren by cooperating together.

They didn’t recon the potara fusion: -God beings like Kais fused permanently while mortal beings are fused for a hour. -Buu’s body has a gas that defuse all potara fusions. Vegeto would’ve defused in a hour vs Buu, but defused due to Buu’s body. It makes sense because they defused immediately. Vegeto vs Zamasu defused due to time limit. Now we have Shin and Kibito defused due to Buu.

This is so hype. I feel like the demon realm actually ties into og dragon ball as well cus it seems like the demon realm ppl have a pointy ears and for yall that remember the goat emperor pilaf he’s got pointy ears built like a demon and the series started with him. Imagine we get pilaf lore and it’s revealed that he left the demon realm or something and went to get the earths dragon balls and that’s how the series started. Im glad they are expanding on this demon realm stuff cus it seemed pretty important like when supreme Kai first showed up he was supposed to be that guy and piccolo was gassing him up but then daburah showed up and supreme Kai just became a whimp and then later mostly irrelevant. This explains why he glazed Daburah and hopefully we get more with him and his brother cus these Kai’s are underdeveloped

They did not retcon potaras time limit, only the way Kais defused. Before was with dragon balls from planet Namek if i remember correctly. Because they dont have a time limit on fusion, mortals still do. It can just be that buu literaly has that weird gas thats interfering with Potaras magic or whatever 🤷‍♂️

Its also good to watch daima without considering much of Super. There will be contradictions. Toriyama just threw some notes whenever he was asked for super, literally tiny bullet points, and the anime team ( and toyotaro for the manga) wrote the story, without Toriyama even watching it after. Daima is purely Toriyama writing again after dbz and superhero(which noticably has MANY contradictions from the rest of super), he just considers only his own writing, and there are bound to be many differences.
