Beast Gohan was really the beginning of the end for me imo. Virtually every meta character has high CDS + relatively easy to access cover null so matches get snowbally very quick. When you start introducing nonsense like Ultra Rosé with his paralysis that basically wins you the game if it goes off and units like UGB that can grant you a get-out-of-jail-free card when *you* mess up, it really testifies to how these units just play the game for you. All you need to do is land a ten-year-long combo with Rosé and beeline for the rush with UGB 9 times out of 10, and these "mechanics" (read: crutches) basically serve to make it easier for you to win without actually having to do anything yourself. For someone who likes winning, its certainly "fun". And for those who play casually, these mechanics can be "cool". But for literally everyone else, it's infuriating. Especially when the two aforementioned units are in every match we play, and how they might actually get powercrept by 5th Anni/Legends Fest this year - a fact that scares me.

​@@Mira15775 there are options in every team against rose UR / LOE - Gofrieza Hybrids - Trunks Movies / God Ki - UGB Future / God Ki / PO - Zenkai Rosé (ironically enough) Androids / GT - 17 F2P (if someone is that crazy) - Buu there are still LF Jiren, Ultra Broly and the ones I forgot Rose is better but not as annoying as Hit and Buu

I said this back when the Tag Androids came out, but I had waited so long for them to be in the game but they were so over powered I felt "dirty" using them. The same is true for Ultra GB and Rose. I have them both at 8 stars, but I don't use them often. Gogeta can be annoying when you are in a situation you need to attack but he has a full gauge ,and you have nothing but blast cards. Rose applies so many de buffs and paralysis that make the game less fun to play in general. I like how they are giving characters their own "thing" like how Hit got the time skip, but do they really have to break the game every time they bring a new character out?

I came back to the game after a long hiatus in September I believe. And I remember the Super Hero campaign being released and being so excited because I loved the movie and having Beast Gohan in the game was awesome as Gohan is my favorite character. I remember spending like 30k on his banner and I had him at 9*, Pan 9* Piccolo 11* I think. It was the best luck I've ever had in the game and I was so excited to use them all. But after playing with at the time the most meta movies team you could make I started to see how... easy I was beating people. I had never reached BR 70 before but I reached it with ease with that team. I didn't feel like I deserved it, the units I were using were just too good. During festival I started using other teams because I felt bad for using Beast and Pan.

Oh man, I totally agree with you on feeling dirty using certain units. I think charge step is such a bullshit "tech", especially with units like Ultra Vegito, that I refuse to use it. It's so cheap to do these attack combos of over 8+ or even extremes of like 12 attacks in a row with units who get card draw on attack like the Vegito I mentioned. I think it's not fun to win by locking out the opponent from even being able to play the game. Ultra Goku Black falls into that same category of such complete BS that I refuse to use him. He's so ubiquitous in PvP, especially the higher ranks, that he is infuriating. Players who rely on him are skillless garbage and I have zero respect for them. Ultra Gogeta Blue is powerful, but he isn't nearly as cancerous as Goku Black. I didn't mind going against beast gohans or gogeta blue, but black is the worst. I can't imagine what they were thinking by adding him into the game with how overloaded his kit is. F that unit

yeah i havent touched beast or gogeta since they came out because I just felt like there was no real since of skill at all. I never use the top 3 units at the time so I can atleast say I can win witihout having a massive handicap. I find myself using more zenkai characters where there would be gogeta or some other busted unit. At this point I feel like Im just summoning characters so I can use them once they have been power crept out of meta. Only just started using ultra vegito recently and vegito being my favorite charater I went all in on him and got him 14 star on his first banner. Never been so lucky, Got 4 copies in just 2 summons.

@Kevin Rickansrud honestly, I don't mind someone using 1 ultra strong character (with the exception of Goku Black, f anyone who runs him). Especially since in higher ranks people are constantly running full teams of Ultras or other juiced units. I used to play a lot like you where I didn't use any of the top tier units, but when you're grinding so many PvP matches, it can be brutal. Especially since I already refuse to use charge step tech to string together ungodly long combos. Lol, you can only apply so many nerfs to yourself. Every few games I always run a fun team just to... well... have fun and it always feels good stomping on mega P2W a-holes. My favorite team to use is LR Bardock with the Ext Fasha and Tora.

What I think is killing the game is both the imbalance of characters but also the implayability for people who aren't willing to throw money at the new units or ultras. I loved playing this game through the anniversaries but it become near impossible to play pvp due to the newer characters

My point is that majority of what dokkan offers has no time limit or time gating save for the monthly activities (virtual clash, chain battle, world tournament), meaning you're not completely screwed just because you didn't pull every single new toy You can build insanely strong teams very quickly during the bigger celebrations as a brand new player too

​@@Coolmeham A few things: -Dokkan isn't pvp so whales don't have that much of an advantage compared to F2P players -Dokkan takes 5 copies of a unit to max it out, Legends takes around 8 or 9 (used to be 17 units before the double Z power) -Dupes in Dokkan matter untill you get 3 copies, after that it's just extra stats -There's a youtuber called Jphanta who plays Dokkan 100% F2P, he cleared all the hardest content with just F2P units (and a lot of tries) so it's not as bad as Legends high lvl pvp where if you aren't high starred or using only F2P units you get slaughtered -You can have friend units from whales which sometimes can solocarry you in hard events

What's crazy is I saw this happening since the second anniversary, and gradually I had less and less an urge to play Legends at all, until I had to go just about 50k~ CC deep to get Tab SSB Goku/Vegeta when they first dropped. It reminded me of when Super Vegetto dropped and I went 40k~ CC for a 2 star copy of him, and pretty much almost all celebration characters and It just broke me. After they left, I just stopped playing the game. Of course I tried to log in again during celebrations but I would just find myself disliking the game more and more until I finally just stopped all together and deleted it. I felt such a sense of relief and peace once I did. I still enjoy watching the gameplay and 'playing' through people like you Goresh, but I can't see myself ever touching this game again, even if they release the most hype, most wanted character i'd ever want and make them the absolute best in the game and even if they made the unit free.

I started a new account during 4th anniversary last year and quit days after the festival began because it became clear as day to me that Legends is dead set on the path of deleting FOTM Unit on a monthly basis while design and gameplay gripes I personally have are not going to be fixed ever

I blame the leader slot update. It made it far too easy to slap multiple toxic characters together in multiple teams making it almost impossible to escape these type of characters in the landscape of pvp.

I can handle going against pretty much any unit besides Ultra Rose. I was close to hitting my first god rank with an android team and as soon as Ultra Rose was released, I lost almost all my matches because he just does everything.

He is BY FAR the most cancerous character ever released. He does everything. I wouldn't mind him being able to do his Ultimate 3 times if he didn't have a green card that destroys 2 of your enemy cards AND gives him a super attack TWICE... a super attack that applies everything and can win the game due to paralysis BS. I don't hate going against Ultra Gogeta Blue and have been annoyed by some other units in the past... but not to the point where I'd consider quitting PvP. Sure, gogeta blue, beast gohan, androids, etc all have annoying stuff but at least you can mostly deal with it in some way. But I'm sick out completely outplaying an opponent over and over only for them to still win because they have Black who can annihilate you with zero effort. He's just such an awful addition to the game and so incredibly busted that I refused to even summon for him. I swear to God that even if I had him there is no way I'd use him outside of the occasional non ranked PvP match to mess around. I don't think it's fun to win games simply because I have a ridiculously overtuned unit.

@@Tigatron1448 I completely agree. There has been many times I almost won a match and lost because Ultra Rose can 1v3 your entire team. Ultra Gogeta Blue may stops your ranged attacks but you can play around it and kill him. Ultra Rose literally stops you from playing with main ability lock, card destruction, bleed, paralysis, a bunch of cover null, 3 ultimates, and gaining card draw when you swap. I'd rather play against UGB 100 times than fight Ultra Rose 1 time.

@Brian lol you're so right about playing against gogeta 100 times instead of black once. For a bit I was like...well, I'll just always choose to RR Goku Black and it won't be that bad. But, after so many games where I'd lose because they guessed my RR and were then able to heal Rose along with taking over the match, I lost my shit and realized it doesn't matter if I save RR. Especially considering how much utility he brings with the stuff you and I mentioned. Even IF you do kill him, cool, he still gave his team tons of blue cards, removed my cards, and probably applied a couple debuffs.

I played the game for 4 1/2 years and quit after the release of Ultra Gogeta Blue. Ever since the release of the androids, I was getting sick of the powercreep & the release schedules of busted units just crushing previous releases; I don't think that'll ever improve. In terms of PVP, the game is basically unplayable except for 1. people who spend money on the game or 2. those who run teams that will always get buffs (Future). Keep in mind, I was a mega whale and pretty much had most 1% SPs 14 starred and most LFs 9 stars minimum. It's sad to see the game go down this route of just releasing a new "best unit in the game" every month or 2 to invalidate a previous release but it's what makes them the most money unfortunately. I fully expect an Ultra Vegito Blue with a strike-based unique gauge that mirrors UGB's for the anniversary, and then that'll just seal the deal on how unfun PVP will be for a while.

I had a blue card in my hand and I was like "well...technically he pushes out a gust of air to attack! So technically its not a ki attack he can counter right?" I think with their recent trend of reducing CC gain and locking most of it behind P2W events, it became impossible to recommande Legend for new player. I tried the new player experience with a fresh account and beside not explaning half of the systems, i didn't have much CC to spend, and most events were too difficult for me to do, reducing me to grind the interminable story mode, wich would have probably made a new player quit there and then. They really need to realize that F2P and even Dolphins are starting to get fed up with the aggressive P2W aspect of the game, because if not, i feel like a Naruto Blazing debacle is heading our way pretty soon.

What I don't like about the game how it makes the need of Ultra units high, and pulling them once is not remotely enough. I am F2P, and not by choice, I spent 32K on gogeta, only pulled him once, and now he's basically useless, and I always throw him in a rush. Ultras in general are becoming too toxic, in how they require too much cc, and their banners are worthless, and if you only pull them once, they ain't shit, that's why I still rely on my red 2 Beast Gohan, even in a green meta

My issue with Hit and Gogeta blues unique gauges is that for people who mostly have low star level characters and or z ability’s, their unique gauge feels STRONGLY unfair. I run Yel Future gohan on a future team with good defensive equips and zenkai abilities and he gets railed by Gogetas counter blue card. Same with hit, who one shots a majority of the characters in the game

The thing that makes this game anoyying is that they decrease the amount of cc we get so ppl just end up having to buy more cc just for a character they want plus the unique gauge idea isn’t bad it’s good just they shoudnt upgrade the gauge all the sudden from like endurance or like super saiyan 3 lf goku etc they’re unique gauge aren’t op they do make it better but they aren’t op and then there’s ui and mui gauges and it isn’t the most op thing they can dodge and counter and the counter isn’t op then they decide to make ugb gauge so much more op then the game currently has another way to be able to implement the gauge is to make more characters with a unique gauge then eventually u release sumthin like ugb gauge

At this point, I don't care for anything anymore no matter what it is, I try to keep all my expectations at all time low just to not feel disappointed and just welcome any new changes, units etc..etc.. and units not being up to spec in terms of being able to compete in any meta was bound to happen it's been that way since the 2nd year anniversary with VB and only time will tell when the game be at a stable spot overall.

The fact that before the LF Droids (exactly one year ago) the meta was DOMINATED by GGY godki with Vados, ul SSBKK and LF Zenkai GRN Vegeta makes me think that powercreep is bad. @@khide782 2k only with stamps, 1k with mission plan (f2p and counted two bc itcould fit in a month) and the rest depends if you are ranked high in pvp, legendsranking or ToP ( wich in 9/10 times you need to be a whale or a og player in some cases to be in your favor) lets say the avarage player gets rnaked top 10k in pvp and top3-1, Legends Ranking if you arent playing like extremly much you wont get that much around 150-250 cc and ToP you need many points to get high rank but no one wants to waste their time on it bc its boring af and everyone autos... this all doesnt add up to around 12-13k a month maybe if you place in ranks then around 6-8k wich isnt much considerd the amount of time you spend on it

Well the game is becoming Dragon Ball Ultras because that's really all you see in pvp now. Rose, Gogeta and Vegito and there's not really a way to defeat them if you don't have the Ultras yourself, unless you are willing to spend money to maybe get them

While I understand the Hit "skill argument", it was quite funny to go from "Gogeta counters your blast and 1shots you, that is toxic", even though you can swap to a different character and survive his Blue/Ult, to "is it fun to get 100 to 0 without being able to do anything at all? Not really" when Hit kills type disadvantaged Zamasu for free and can do it multiple times if given enough time. It can be difficult to stay 100% objective on these types of discussions.

Haven’t played since last anny, stopped paying for CC during legends fest 21. At this point my only interacting with this game now is watching these videos. The tag androids was my last new character and I actually liked them but I started losing interest in playing daily because pvp is always the star unit vs the entire roster, and rinse and repeat every month. Every year near anny everyone gets burned out and during it too. So it’s hard to defend the game but I liked it a lot my first 3 years but beast gohan didn’t entice me last year.

I think the solution would be balance changes. Rather than releasing a unit meant to counter another, they should change the unit after like 2 or 3 months. This would include changes to their kits and their cards. Like for example the tagdroids would get their cover null from their green card reduced to once only.

I think a good solution would be limiting the amount of Ultra units that can be run on a team in PvP. With how strong they've become it is the only way to somewhat provide a "balanced" experience. I think them only allowing you to run a single summonable Ultra unit would be a great and simple change.

@callmeAJ I play a stupid amount of this game... especially with grinding PvP. I wouldn't at all mind a restriction like that and I think any reasonable person would agree. I'm not saying outright not allow more than 1 summonable Ultra unit... only in ranked PvP. Still allow it anywhere else in the game because like you said, some people spend a lot of money and time to get these units in order to play them. Also, I think most high level players, even the whales, would agree on a change like this. It would make the meta so much healthier and lead to a longer lasting game.

@callmeAJ oh all good. Man, I can't imagine what it's like as a new player. I'm a beta player who has consistently done almost every event/raid and place well in PvP most seasons in order to maximize the crystals I get. So even as an almost exclusively F2P player I've got plenty of LFs above 7 stars with some even at 14 star along with all the Zenkai units. Each unit is max level/boost and I'm only missing 2 LFs, a couple sparkings, and 4 Ultras. I'm not saying that to brag, but to say that I've got tons of tools to use and teams to run, so at least I've got options for fighting these new units. Being new and not having zenkai units to boost your strong characters or a decent roster must be miserable. Lol it's miserable enough as it is with my own account.

Ill be honest, to me Hit's time skip creeps close to the unfun stuff like lock in, para, and faint, what keeps it lower is that his gauge takes a while to build up, but once its full, he can just show up and you lose a character and there is nothing you can do. And if we start seeing more sealing units, like future trunks, if they feel wacky a kami, a db saga roshi, or even a what if db saga tien, thatll also probably get up there close to the same level. And they already even have the perfect counter unit for it with piccolo jr and the mafuba gaeshi

What's killing the game is: 1)the constant pay to win method that toshi follows to an super extreme level, the constant refusal to make essential changes. For example, the should put to every single unit the Z ability for what the character is. Basically for the new yellow ssj2 goku that got a zenkai, his Z ability should buff: saiyan, son family, episode majin buu saga and yellow. That way you can do tons of character combinations without getting limited. The same goes for the zenkai ability as well. They should put appropriate tags there as well. Also the leader slot should act like Z ability selector, meaning that by putting there a unit that his Z ability doesn't match the rest of one specific team, a box will pop up in the screen that will let you give a specific Z ability/tag to the rest of the units. Also the leader spot should act as buffer for outdated units, allowing you to have fun with old favorites. 2)The character nitpicking. Literally the only tags that are getting special treatment are: hybrids, son family, for the most part fusion and lastly stuff from dragon ball super. While doing that, they neglect other tags like sagas of the movies, lineage of evil, OG dragon ball saga and GT. And i can confidently say that they hate GT and DBZ broly with a passion! Ultra broly the lack of GT units are the examples of that. Not only we barely get something from these two but we also get a mid to trash unit at that. And those trash units are always anticipated units that go straight to bench. 3)They should also increase the chances of getting a new unit from banners or give us more chrono crystals in general. Basically the game could be a little more rewarding than it already is. 4)And lastly we have the awful zenkais of old favorite units that they constantly ruin just to be used for bench. They should start making zenkais broken like the old days, and remake the already awful and outdated zenkais into proper and broken zenkais. If they do all of the above, success is guaranteed.

A lot of new abilities just don’t feel very interactive, there’s not really interaction to hit stopping the match and taking a character, and there are situations where you’re forced to activate gogetas counter without counterplay, several new characters are able to destroy cards and dragon balls without interacting with the opponent, so much is just too strong without having to interact with the opponent

what they are doing is making it really hard for f2p players to play the game. They release a stupidly broken ultra that everyone uses and then after a month or two they release another unit that counters the 1st one which means if u dont have either of the units then pvp is basically unplayable for u.

I think if gogetas gauge didn't have that counter after his gauge is full I think people wouldn't mind nearly as much, maybe only have his gauge counter like that if he is a last man standing or something like that. I have him and I don't use him nearly as much cause it does feel like he is a crutch and I don't find it winning matches as satisfactory, everything else about him is great, just the auto counter is straight dumb.

My thoughts are that the game is slowly killing itself by pushing out too many Ultras and the Ultras used to be more balanced back in the days but now the Ultras are way too broken they should slow down and make more units that have better rates and are kinda at the same level instead of releasing more units that are at a whole other level of power also making broken mechanics and releasing more units with broken mechanics makes the game less fun to play for people playing against those units also if this wasn’t a Dragon Ball Game more people would quit. I see many people quitting and the new players are also quitting in like a few days due to the type of balancing they have in the game if there was more variety in teams and units the game would be very healthy Like some teams can’t even be used because they 1 won’t Zenkai them and 2 even if they get a Zenkai they usually still get destroyed by the new units I think the new system of giving old Sparklings platinums help out the balance but it still isn’t enough due to it missing things that units need nowadays to be viable Based off of what I read in the comments the player base is really starting to quit I wish it wasn’t like this but the game is too unbalanced for players to play and I have started to play less as a F2P player all I do is daily missions then get off and do other things like Dokkan in order to be a F2P player who still enjoys the game you have to be extremely lucky I’ve gotten lucky with UGB but Rosé basically counters everything and he needs to be shut down and debuffed and I think he is still in the boost so take him out of it. The only way they can make the game enjoyable is to listen to the community way more and balance out the game the CC they give to F2P and make things more skilled based and less P2W

(Summonable) Ultras were never “balanced”, even the older ultras can hardly be considered “more balanced” in comparison to their metas. Super Gogeta was the undisputed top 1 on launch and remained in contention for top 1 until the androids came out, SSBK was an oppressive comboing monster who was arguably top 1 on his release, Super Vegito was combo machine, a tank, and a nuke all at the same time, with a comboable green card from cover change, and Broly, while not too memorable in retrospect, was still incredibly strong and oppressive with fairly good tanking too. I think it’s definitely more on the frequency of ultras, along with their continuous powercreep (especially oppressively), but even the ultras of back then were no better when taking into account when they released

28:00 grn metal cooler has similar ability where he recovers hp by 50% of the damage when changing cover, where if he is rushed on cover, will basicaly recover to full hp if rush is guessed

The reason i hate UGBs gauge is because it destroys my red cards. Its fine that his gauge is unique and allows him to cancel a yellow card but the additional effect of removing your red cards make him almost impossible to combo. Its literally a challenge to attack gogeta blue at all.

I could definitely see where Goresh is coming from in saying that using GB feels a like a win button at times but when you look at some of the toxicity that other units bring to the table I feel like it kinda evens out even though some of the other abilities definitely take skill to execute comparatively to standing still XD. But I always like to keep a Bench of "Mid' Tier characters when I see people just tryna have fun with the game and tend to save GB for the 14* Hit on Future setups :P

Unfortunately one thing that you may fail to consider is that in a pvp based game, one person's fun will more than likely be unfun for the opponent. Since the whole purpose of the game is to defeat your opponent, i doubt the one losing the match will have fun time, so mechanics can inherently never be fun for the opponent if it helps one party over the other. If anything, mechanics can only be less annoying
