What If Beerus BETRAYED and TRAPPED Goku in Whis' Staff... NOT the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

During the Tournament of Power, Goku showed that when put under extreme pressure he could access the power of the gods. In the anime, this power is pretty much confirmed to exceed the gods themselves - don’t worry about the manga scaling for Ultra Instinct Goku since this story will be following the anime continuity. While Beerus was relieved that his universe won the Tournament of Power and even pleased Zeno in the process, he couldn’t help but have a strange feeling. The thought was put to the back of his mind for the moment, until the Saiyan known as Broly arrived on Earth.
Broly was near the level of Beerus himself and a fusion of Goku and Vegeta was more than enough to handle the brute. Now this was getting out of hand. While Beerus could have probably handled Broly on his own, the fused Saiyan was a different issue. It was easy for Beerus to instill fear into Vegeta, but Goku wasn’t as easily manipulated.
Goku went to Zeno’s palace against Beerus’ will, his whole demeanor with Zeno is too friendly and a threat to the Universe. Not only does Beerus fear for his own safety, but he’s also afraid that the Universe he’s in charge of will be lost as well. So as the Broly situation wraps up and Whis returns to Beerus he tells his attendant that they will no longer be so lenient with mortals. Watch the video for the full story!

INCREDIBLE!!!! This interpretation of "What If Goku Was Betrayed" was one of the best What Ifs that I have ever seen! The story really kept me on the edge of my seat and the voice acting was unlike anything that I have ever heard of in the previous What Ifs, and they are extremely accurate to the Anime itself. Here are some ideas I have for him: 1: What If Broly Was Found During Resurrection F? 2: What If Piccolo Stayed Evil? 3: What If Krillin Killed Vegeta? 4: What If Cell Was in the Tournament of Power? 5: What If Goku Went SSJ Against King Piccolo? This interpretation of this What If is just the best by far of this What If. Perfectly understanding the mentality and character of Goku in this scenario just makes it feel like it could be canon potentially. And the funny parallel is that, it expressed a concern that Beerus had about Saiyans, and this explored it a lot more. Also, Broly was a nice twist for Vegeta's Wish. In conclusion: This earns a straight Perfect 10/10 in my eyes, and as we've heard from a certain Bio Android, " This has been truly, Perfect... "

What If Requests. (I can't remember if you have already done some of these) What if Gohan drank the Ultra Divine Water before or after entering the Time Chamber with Goku. What if Goku was the first "evolved" Saiyan. (like the Universe 6 Saiyan's who are born without a tail and have more potential) What if Kami regained his youth when King Piccolo did. What if Elder Guru fused with Kami before he died. (Maybe you could also have Lord Slug fuse with Piccolo) What if the Super Saiyan God ritual was permanent. (Goku becomes a actual God thereby extending his life expectancy by millions of years, he gets Super Saiyan Rosè instead of Super Saiyan Blue and he is unable to enter the T.o.P) What if Beerus (& Whis) raised Cooler.

I enjoyed this take on the whole Goku is betrayed by somebody, and in the end Goku still forgive Beerus with been trapped in the Whis' Staff for a good few years. It's pretty cool we got Broly vs Beerus and Goku vs Beerus (rematch) in this video. Funny thing enough I thinking Gohan was going to show off his beyond Ultimate level against Beerus here. It's so like Vegeta to be just cautious/suspicious enough that he'd immediately sense alarm bells when he hears of the situation. I love how pragmatic he is here, while still retaining that classic saiyan arrogance to provoke Beerus into a direct fight. The loyalty he's portrayed with here also feels really spot on with the way he's grown. He may fight with Goku a lot, but he very clearly trusts and respects Goku, not just as a fighter, but as a person. So many other "What if" scenarios centered on the very same topic tend to portray Vegeta and the rest of Goku's friends as backstabbing and two-faced, with them easily agreeing to betraying him once the Earth is on the line. These are people who would and have fought and died most gruesome deaths for what they believe in. It makes far more sense for them to throw their lives away in defense of their friend, than for them to simply accept Beerus' orders under threat alone. One critique I have is that Beerus changes his tune a little too easily for how set he seems to be on this course of action. You make it somewhat clear that he does feel somewhat guilty about his actions, but considering he came to Earth with the intention to destroy it all for the sake of sparing his pride and making a point, it doesn't feel quite so satisfying that he just gives up and becomes Goku's buddy again the moment it's clear he can't win. I think it'd be a bit more understandable if you tried to subtly hint that Beerus was lowkey hoping Goku would break out, or maybe have Whis indirectly lecture Beerus on his actions. Possibly even having Vegeta lay into Beerus more during their chat where he really drives home how Goku's actions saved Beerus' life and universe, and that the god OWES Earth a great debt to really chip away at his resolve through growing guilt. All in all, I really like the characterization of everyone here but Beerus. I felt like he was too easy. Also, as a What if suggestion: What if Goku came to understand Gohan better in the time chamber? Would he be able to teach his son to enjoy fighting like he does, or would he maybe choose not to rely on Gohan to beat cell?

To be clear the ending isn't him becoming Goku's buddy or anything. If there were to be another part (I don't have one planned nor do I intend to make one) the fractured relationship between Earth's warriors and Beerus would be the center. Him being let off the hook in the end is no different than Vegeta or Piccolo being let go in a sense where the chance he hasn't changed lingers, but Goku is willing to take the chance because of their history. You can also think of Majin Vegeta where Goku instantly forgives Vegeta only to be betrayed right after. Basically don't expect Goku and Vegeta to train on Beerus' world anytime soon lol.

I honestly thought the same. “Gohan and vegeta will fuse with potara any moment now…” I didn’t think of the rituals because broly might as well have better chances with his green hair knowing how he acts when he powers up in that…. Nah its the manga that messed the scale they changed UI power each arc - the comments on beerus are messed up though like him using 70 percent but each arc statements become invalid since they make him stronger this happens in manga and anime

Both are quite messy. Manga simply got away with "LoL Beerus still stronker git rekt" while in the anime they're already past that. So they either will ignore that(Most likely) or get a simple statement about him training for five seconds and make him super duper strong again. They beaty of Dragon ball I quess

In all honesty, I would not mind this being a sort of climax to DBS as a whole. The premise makes sense and is in character for Beerus and Whis, and the execution is great. It fully pays off the build up of MUI and Goku becoming Beerus' greatest rival, which I love.

I do believe if Vegeta and Gohan were serious about killing Lord Beerus, they would just kill Kaioshin and by default, Beerus. They could have done this in the 30 mins before Beerus got to Earth, especially with the remaining wishes. They would only wish to fight Beerus if they wanted to fight the strongest, due to their Saiyan instincts, rather than doing the easier thing and killing the weaker option.
