I honestly think they're going to include most of the important characters/forms from each major series, with OG Dragon Ball getting the most cuts. The DB characters I think are most likely to return are Kid Goku (including his Great Ape form) and Master Roshi (especially since he was active in Resurrection F and the Tournament of Power). I think they'll cut most of the Great Ape forms for characters who were never shown using them in canon/their movies, with Bardock probably getting his Super Saiyan form instead. The most major Z characters I could see them cutting are minor minions (i.e. Appule, Frieza Soldier, Salza, Zangya). Maybe they'll cut out some less important/iconic forms, like Syn Shenron, Baby Vegeta's first two forms, and Great Saiyaman #2, due to their less memorable status. Of course, any cut characters could end up back in the game as DLC down the line, though obviously that would be a contentious solution.

3:33 Sword Trunks and DBS Trunks should just be the same character in my opinion. Trunks in DBS mostly fights in Super Saiyan 2 & Super Saiyan Rage, so just adding those two forms onto Sword Trunks would be more optimal

It definitely won’t happen, they will miss a lot of characters out because it’s obvious they will have to make each character feel different otherwise it will end up like BT3 where most characters were basically reskins with the same attacks and everything. They will only add twice the size of characters compared to raging blast 2, no more than that amount, with a few extras as dlc down the line such as the movie characters and GT characters etc

It would be weird if there were only one Piccolo, especially considering everything that has happened with Super Hero. I could even see them just adding Potential Unleashed/Orange to his (End) form, but to put it all together or leave Early out would be quite an omission. Maybe they will add it to the website later? I mean, even #17 has his separate Super form. I honesty think however they make the roster, DLC will fill in the gaps, which is fair enough because I don't think including ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING (All 161 from the last game plus everyone from Super) in the base game is a realistic expectation, especially in the modern era. 164 characters is a hell of a lot and this is the perfect use case for DLC. I'm sure we'll hit 200+ with everyone we could possibly want.

Dude 164 characters is not an incomplete game just because it has DLCs(if you think sparking zero is an unfinished game that you have to pay for dlc to finish it then bt3 is an unfinished game that you cant finish since that game has less characters than sz) DLCs are not always a bad thing as long as the base game is good(and 164 at launch is far more than good) then that means DLCs will just be sprinkle to make the game better than it already is

I think the Raging Blast 2 roster is a good look at what Z will bring. Excluding Hatchiyack and SSJ3 Broly/Vegeta, that’s 87 slots taken. Maybe the movie villain underlings will get cut (Zangya, Android 14/15, Cooler Force) but even if they’re there that leaves plenty of room for Super and some extra. I think some GT will definitely make base game (SSJ4 Goku was in the reveal trailer). I think Goku, Vegeta, Super 17, Super Baby 2, and Omega Shenron can make it at least. Gogeta could be dlc but that’d suck, if Gogeta and Vegito Blue are in base game though I expect SSJ4 Gogeta to be DLC. For OG DB I think only Kid Goku will be in the game, and maybe King Piccolo. The DLC packs could be fun though, I’m already imagining one with like Kid Krillin, Roshi/Jackie Chun, Yamcha, Tien, and we need Bulma playable! Then another for that final Tenkaichi Budokai with Teen Goku, Piccolo, Chi-Chi, and maybe add like Ox King and Grandpa Gohan to round out DB.

I tried to build a realistic roster prioritizing Super characters. There was still enough space for a lot of characters from BT3, so I think we’re fine. There’s a lot but not as many as you think. Unless they include everyone from ToP, which I doubt since they’re not in games like Xenoverse. We may not get Pilaf machine or Spopovich, but I’m certain most sagas will be well presented

tbf Trunks and Piccolo not having an era specified in their name doesn't make it inconsistent, it could just mean that's the only iteration they'll have in the game. No need to specify that SS2 Trunks is from Super if its the only SS2 Trunks playable. Same goes for Majin and Super Vegeta, those forms are era-exclusive already, so specifying further is just text-clutter. BT3 had a lot of filler-chars anyway, its entirely possible they'll cut those instead of dropping eras entirely. Baby does not need 4 slots, Zangya does not need a slot, Cui does not need a slot, etc. it's still possible they'll cut characters AND eras, given how much Super adds, if that happens I'd be hella bummed if GT didn't make the cut, SS4 is too cool to miss out on. GT, DB and Xeno/SDBH could each be separate dlc ig, makes for better marketing headlines to give each DLC wave the corresponding eras name instead of Wave 1/2/3.

@@Gfromda23 That's pure speculation. We already know that SZ will have about the same size cast as BT3, despite adding in Supers huge roster. There will be a lot of cuts. We can't assume character separations into eras based on BT3, especially if those characters are already confirmed to not have an era indicator in their known appearances. Goku has one, but Piccolo doesn't. That's part of the premise of the video. The characters not being split to save slots is an explanation for this discrepancy.

I think cutting out minor characters from each saga is the likeliest and best case scenario. I mean BT3 had Frieza soldiers, Apule, Babidi, Spopovich, Pure Evil Buu, General Blue, Chi-Chi, and Nam, who I don't remember anyone ever using. Plus it gave many non-canon oozaru transformations to every single og Saiyan, which was fun and cool af, but that alone frees up 5-6 slots. We also probably won't get more obscure movies characters like Wheelo, Fasha, Slug, Pikon, Salza, that chick from Bojack's squad, hell maybe even Bojack himself. I might even miss out on one of my mains, Tapion(his barrier was absolutely broken). Also take out the unnecessary transformations that nobody ever used, like Base and Super Baby, Base and SSJ og Broly, Base Pilaf gang etc. I think counting all of those, it easily frees up about 30-35 slots for Super without losing any major character.

I want the entire roster from Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, the characters in the Raging Blast series, and some Dragon Ball Super characters in the base game. It is kind of ridiculous that they can't just make some Dragon Ball Heroes and leftover characters from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT as DLC.

I feel the nightmare-option of cutting out transformations is very unlikely. We basically have every Form of Goku and Vegeta already in the game, minus Ultra Instinct and Blue evolved (who will probably be in the game anyway). Therefore I think if a character is in it, then every transformation of that character will be in it as well. My example would be how Freeza is specifically labeled as Freeza (Super): Z Freeza will have every transformation from 1st to 100% final, then Super will probably have Movie 1st Form, Final Form and Golden. What I am fearful off (and what I feel like is the most likely) is them cutting off series and selling them later as DLC. You'll get the GT DLC, the OG DLC, the Movie DLC... and most of them probably even cut further down into packs to make more money. IMO the most likely outcome will be: Most of Z that was in BT3, all important characters from Super and some funny picks as well, and the important players from the Super movies.

i've been saying since the first announcement, this was very likely a BT3 HD Remake that was turned into a proper sequel game sometime during development or conceptualization. the issue with the naming you'll find stems from the way the characters are licensed, the trunks stuff is prevalent in dokkan battle for example, where the pre-rosat trunks and DBsuper trunks are labeled as Future trunks (teen), i guess since the designs were super similar they licensed the DBS trunks as the same character and so you'll probably see these kinds of things reflected in whatever is different from the original BT3 separation/namings. this is pretty much in line with the DBS Broly being just called Broly (as with the movie they refer to all the characters as Broly:BR or Freeza:BR...etc. in games like Heroes over in japan). for example you will still see SS Blue be referred to as SSGSS for that exact reason... they patented the form concept and the characters in that form with the name SSGSS and thus it'll always be that till they can renew the license or something. the good timeline would be that most of the roster is identical to their BT3 selves, something we've been seeing with the little gameplay footage being directly compared to bt3 footage and being almost 1-to1, so it's very likely that the only missing characters from BT3 could be the DB ones or at least Arale due to licensing issues compared to 2007. tl;dr this game was likely started as an HD remake for BT3, some characters like arale might not make it, and some characters will have weird naming schemes due to character licensing name shenanigans, but it does look very promising

My assumption is all three, DB, GT and the movies, are gonna get hit hard. Super is going to get heavy emphasis in this game since the only other options to experience these characters is the clunky Xenoverse or the few characters we got in Fighters. At best from DB were probably gonna get Kid Goku, maybe King Piccolo. GT we will at best get the Super Sayin 4 forms only, maybe Shenron or Baby (more likely Shenron). I fully expect them to do what Fighters did and keep all the movie characters for DLC only. Maybe we'll get someone like Cooler with a Golden form but I fully expect these characters to be pay walled. And unfortunately I don't expect any weirdos like King Vegeta, Fasha or Devilman to make an appearance. I also have a theory that this game may be treated like a more traditional Fighting Game with an emphasis on balance patches, which I wouldn't mind. Please for the love of god let this game have Rollback netcode.

Probably most of the oozaru's from bt3 are cut, except for vegeta and maybe goku/gohan, So that's Radditz, nappa, Bardock, turles, Fasha,and king vegeta. With the last two being likely to be cut from the roster altogether. I would put money that the following characters might be scrapped in favor of super characters: - Fasha - King Vegeta - Nam - General Blue - Tambourine - Devilman - Frieza Soldier - Appule - Zangya With slight changes for Arale/Android 8 So yeah, mostly dragonball characters on the chopping block, probably left to a Dragonball DLC, and some fodder characters from Z (frieza army DLC?). If one character from GT will not make it, it's probably Nuova Shenron

I dont know if theyre already confirmed or not, but maybe characters like goku and vegeta wont be separated by saiyan, freeza, android, cell, and buu saga anymore. I heavily disagree with the idea of dbgt as a whole being cut from the game.Those guys were part of what made tenkaichi 3 special especially ssj4 gogeta for being a completely busted character and it would leave a hole in the game if ssj4 wasn’t in it. Especially when people would want ssj4 and ssb to fight in a tenkaichi style game which I’m more than sure the creators are aware of. Characters like fasha,babidi,spopovich,salza ETC deserved to be cut more than ssj4.The OG dragon ball characters on the other hand had a bunch of fodder characters like kid chichi lmfao, I can see them removing all the OG characters aside from kid goku,roshi and king piccolo to at least represent it.

164 characters felt like the bare minimum they could start with to say "see, we're improving on BT3." Lack of GT is concerning for me: I'm a big fan of SSJ4 in general. As for the fact that 24 characters are Goku or Vegeta... that's annoying me. I would have really liked some customization for the characters, so I hope we get some additional Supers/ultimates to swap out with. I'm also hoping for some varied combo strings/some nuances to each character, even if they both represent the same person at different points in the story. EG: early Z goku base should be similar, but not identical, to base buu saga goku. I'm also kind of afraid of DLC for this game. They'll probably price is as high as XV2's DLC, which IMO wasn't great especially considering how many packs they released. Still, I have high hopes, and if this means cutting out a few of the lesser interesting characters (your mileage may vary), I don't mind losing a few characters, but it's hard to justify really.

The best idea would be to cut Super stuff from the game because it's garbage and focus on filling in the gaps that BT3 + RB2 missed. 1st Form Hirudegarn? Yes, please. The rest of Bojack's henchmen? Aww, yeah. They can put Hit in though, he's neat.

I'm keeping expectations low for GT and the movies being in the base game. They'd be too perfect for enticing DLC. As for original DB, I can see it getting some base game recognition, even if it's just DB Goku
