​@@marnerlarnerthey are actually possibly to reproduce with a more dynamic camera based shader, the current renderer relies on the position of the character in the world. Which creates a more grounded 3d look, but that's not how anime is made. Anime has to look more stylish because that's what gives it it's look. Deformations can and should happen with smart angling and and camera based deforming. The problem comes with the other playing seeing those Deformations though because they have a free moving cam too. That can be solved by using deformation and shading frames during special attacks, and taking control of the camera for "cool" moments like counters, vanish counter, combo ender, and specials. Basically moments where neither user needs camera control, make a cool angle. Think of the moment Goku and frieza punched each other before the tournament of Power. You can recreate that.

It's not meant to.😂 It's specifically 2.5D and does what it supposed to so extremely well on top of the fact that the characters models are made from scratch and not a CAC method like these arena game like Sparking Zero. And regardless of the dimension, FighterZ is the better game overall. Sparking Zero does not appeal to gamers. Only weebs who run from demanding mechanics and competition and wanna get their nerdy rocks off by thinking they're Goku like some 9 year old first discovering Dragon Ball, lol.

Dragon Ball is the most consistent anime when it comes to games , it just delivers , from creating Anime Arena Fighting Games , to RPGs like Legacy of Goku 2 and Kakarot , to creating a fighting game that is considered among the best fighting games out there in FighterZ , no other anime can do it like Dragon Ball. One thing that worries me about this game is the story mode , if the story mode is the plain old anime story it won't live for long just like we saw with Kakarot , they better revolutionize the story mode rather than plain old anime story.

The whole reason I was ever into Dragonball is because my brothers had Budokai and Budokai 2 on PS2. I played and watched them be played all the time and I learned about the characters and their lore from the games before ever watching the show. I would argue that the same old story playing out is essential for blooming new generations of fans. When I got a little older I played LOG2 on my GBA and played it HARD. One of those masterworks that makes you wonder how a licensed "franchise" video game could end up being one of the greatest games of all time. DB translates to video games seamlessly. It almost works better as a video game than a show tbh. I'd much sooner play the game than watch the anime. As livid as I am that DBS0 is getting severely gimped splitscreen play, I'm excited for this game just existing. So many fond memories of the hours and hours spent with my cousins on Tenkaichi 2.
