I think I like this Broly more. I’m a fan of the sheer badassery of the old Broly. But he was a bit of a hollow sadist. This Broly still has the rage and the power and the badassery, but he has some character now. He’s likeable, sympathetic, has room for growth. Can’t wait to see more from him

RaginDXDemon well it’s stated that the new Broly was indeed being controlled, Paraguay kept him as a simple minded obedient dog, and when Broly snaps, he can’t reign himself in because he simply doesn’t know how. That’s what makes him sympathetic. All his power, combined with his simple nature overwhelms him and turns him into a beast. Rewatching the old Broly movie, Broly is entirely aware of what he’s doing, he takes things slow, tortures, humiliates, mocks, and laughs at others suffering. True, his rage is also the result of childhood trauma as you pointed out, but it’s hard to sympathize when the old Broly clearly delights in pain for pains sake

so I'll explain this I don't know if you read this Tyrone but I'll just type it for anyone else who is curious apparently toriyama wrote a 3-hour script and they cut it down to an hour and 40 minutes that's why there are a lot of holes in this and rumor has it that super will be coming back in this is nothing but a rumor in April and they will do the entire 3 hours script and complete it when they bring super back they will do a like retelling of the broly movie but they will add everything that was left out so just letting you

I was indifferent to the retcon of Bardock and that whole story. It didn’t need to be in the movie honestly. I loved the plot of Bardock Father of Goku so much more. Bardock was a merciless fighter who didn’t even care about anything until Freeza targeted his crew and vowed to fight for them. Bardock’s story was just shoehorned in here. They didn’t need it to tell Broly’s story.

I absolutely loved Vegeta vs Broly, specifically the beginning when he still has his coat on and broly is charging at him and just has his arms crossed. When Vegeta shows off his superiority, he REALLY likes showing it off. Tyrone, I agree with you when you said the story was poor. I enjoyed the movie a lot, but yeah you are right. The reason why everything felt rushed or weird was because the original script from Toriyama was 3 hours long but they had to cut it to 100 mins. That is why some parts are really weird, like the Bardock one. Hopefully, when Super comebacks, they are gonna retell the movie with the original script cuz i would be down for that.

I’m glad they didn’t go too in depth with the background and the origin of every thing because we already know it. We’ve seen it a many times in different perspectives. I wasn’t bored at all, had a blast. A lot of people say that the legendary transformation of broly was rushed which wasn’t completely because I’m glad they didn’t spend 10 minutes of him yelling to transform. Overall the movie was amazing and definitely buying it when it comes out on DVD.. btw I loved the references to old Broly movies in this current one, very pleased.

When it comes to dragon ball stuff I normally agree 90-95% of what he has to say. Especially when it come to super. This I disagree though. I was so glad they packed it full of action. To be honest, I could’ve used more fighting.

I liked this movie a lot, better than battle of gods but I like Ressurection of f as a movie better. Just the comeback of all our old favorite characters! It had new forms, it also had plenty of humor & a showcase of battle skills for each char, this movie solely was Goku, Vegeta, Broly & frieza. Little bit too much backstory that we knew & the fighting was a bit much, I didn’t get the feel that they couldn’t win like in resurrection of f. This was one sided with broly slowly catching up in power.

I like how Vegeta didn’t shrivel up like a cowardly ball in this fight against Broly, the other movie he was like “*shrieks* It’s the Legendary Super Sayian!” In this movie he didn’t look like he backed down.
