Fun fact: Copy Vegeta is voiced by Brian Drummond in the English Dub, who was the very first person to ever portray Vegeta in English. Before the Funimation Dub, which has become the standard English version of Dragon Ball, there was another English dub of Dragon Ball that was produced by a Canadian company called “Ocean Group”. As such, these first dubs of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are called the “Ocean Dubs”. The Ocean Dubs of DB and DBZ are how many fans experienced Dragon Ball for the first time. While the Funimation dub cast has become the standard nowadays, it’s touching to see that one of the original cast members of the original English dub was included in the modern era of Dragon Ball.

They wouldn't get it because they still have a somewhat limited knowledge of Dragon Ball, they've only seen a few movies, DBZ Kai Buu Saga, and Abridged

The English dub did something really fun with the voice actor of the shapeshifter who ends up becoming Vegeta- he's voiced by Brian Drummond, who was the original English VA of Vegeta, before funimation moved their production in-house and recast him with Chris Sabat, who voices him to this day (tho Brian Drummond continued to voice Vegeta in the "Ocean" dub made for Canada) - so it's a nice little stand-off between both English Vegetas ^^

cuz toei was doing anything just for money i hate thanks to them we didnt get the manga animated but i love gt i never had a problem with it i love the gt timeline as much i love the super manga timeline

this was very very nice of funmation to do back when dragon ball z came over to the usa there were like 3-4 dubs of it the funmation dub and a dub called the ocean dub were the fav among fans purple vegeta VA is vegeta actor from the ocean dub which isn't what they did in japan just had his voice actor there just do the same voice for vegeta there. they could have done this for the dub here in english but they brought him back for this short story is so nice of them

As someone who grew up on the Ocean dub in the UK, I cannot begin to tell you the FEEEEEEELS that I felt when I heard Brian Drummond reprise Vegeta as Purple Vegeta. Honestly, boss move from whoever decided to put Ocean Vegeta and FUNI Vegeta together. Top notch fan service. Brian does an awesome job as evil Vegeta - do you remember in DBZA when Vegeta went into the sea in Namek to retrieve the dragonball that Gohan stole, then popped out the water screaming his lungs out which ripped through space and time? 🤣🤣 KZbin that scene from the Ocean dub. "You will not escape my WRATH!!!!!" Brian Drummond was also the one responsible for the "Over 9000!" meme, so KZbin that as well. Seriously, the nostalgia hits me like a brick everytime i hear "this is you're weak". It's like yaaaaas there's my Vegeta 🤣 Chris Sabat is an awesome Vegeta too, his voice is more suited for Family Vegeta i think. Also, i cannot for the life of me imagine Brian's Vegeta doing any of the weird Vegeta stuff in Super 🤣🤣🤣 I actually met Chris Sabat at comic con in London last weekend - very sweet guy.

In the original "Jaco" manga by Toriyama, Jaco was much more of a badass. Extremely powerful and a calm undoubting personality at all times. Basically all the opposite of what Toei Animation made of him in Super. For DBSuper, the production staff had only a few directives from Toriyama for the plot general ideas, so many scenes have been improvised to some extent. I really wish they respected the original Jaco character instead of turning him into a comic relief.

First of all, _oh god, this arc._ Second- I never noticed how much the dialogue in super INSISTS on _telling, not showing._ "Oh no, that lava is rising, and if it gets any higher, we'll get burned! It sure is a good thing we can _fly!"_ -.-
