I will say one thing about the series. In my opinion, the Goku Black reveal was the best reveal of the entire franchise. Cell was a close second.

Super had amazing MOMENTS, with many of them being fights, transformations and power-ups, but was a pretty sucky season with how much it screwed with everyone's personalities. The movies didn't help much either like how idiotic it was to give Gohan his Beast transformation cause i guess the dude's potential has hidden potential and that hidden potential has super hidden potential.

I only liked the design of UI Omen Goku and the music. SSJ Blue was completely overused and made SSJ God somehow pointless and forgotten. Then the Idea of Blue being god K.I, yet almost every side character put up a fight with Goku and Vegeta.

UI Omen was my favorite part in Super by FAR. Music that accompanied the transformation was fire too. And yeah, Blue was one of the worst forms to me for that reason, among others.

2:43 - I was glad when they brought back Kaioken. Aside from the OG Super Saiyan form this is my favourite. Especially when he fought against Vegeta for the first time

8:04 - I was so happy when Vegeta got his revenge by defeating Frieza, it was so satisfying. And when he blew up the planet like Namek Whis came to the rescue and allowed Vegeta to finish Frieza

Whis rewinding time and Goku getting the kill at the end sucked for me personally as a Vegeta fan. Vegeta deserved the kill narratively speaking 😪😪

@@TheCurlyHairedHokagewhat rubbed me wrong about it was that it provided nothing in return narratively that I can remember. Vegeta gets beaten by cell- we get ssj2 Gohan. Vegeta fails to defeat Majin buu- we get super buu, Vegito, and kid buu. Vegeta doesn’t beat golden Freiza , ….. because …. Just because. I’m okay with a loss when it makes sense, or pushes the story forward. That one just didn’t make any sense to me.

DBS fuccing sucked and I'm glad that people are finally not scared to admit it especially for hive minded geeks who have never even watched or read the original DragonBall story. I especially dislike those that say DBZ retcons DB when in actuality it explains the previous plotholes that DB left behind but DBS is a complete retcon to a story that ended in the late 90s

Goku vs Caulifla + Kale and then Kefla was in my honest opinion an absolute masterpiece but other than that the show was kinda meh, like you always sat there watching in sheer hope of it getting better...

I didn’t really like the fight until Goku went Ultra Instinct, since beforehand, Goku was losing in forms that should eclipse those 2’s powers, but I understand where you’re coming from 👌

@@TheCurlyHairedHokage To be fair he was super worn out after his fight with Jiren (had trouble with some random robot trio before Caulifla one-shot them) so even in these other forms he's technically much lower in power since they're multipliers of his base strength, he held his own in just base against SS2 Caulifla for a good while and he totally outclassed them in god form hence why they fused but my original point was more about the fight choreography and progression. Using the Kamehameha to grind on top of Kefla's beam before finishing her off is to this day my favourite finishing move in all of Dragonball.

High highs but lower lows. Overall enjoyed it better than GT because it is more fun moment to moment but not as good as OG Dragon Ball or Z or Naruto for that matter but definitely a DBZ over Naruto guy.

It's exactly as I remember; good. Not great, but good. I think the Majin Buu Saga is worse than all of Super, but I also think Saiyan's and battle power ruined Dragon Ball at the same time. Dragon Ball is so much better than Z it's not even funny, but people are blinded by nostalgia due to Z coming out first in most places outside Japan. Love the Cell Saga, otherwise not a huge fan of Z.

Imma have to disagree. I’d say Z, or at least what counts as the Z section of the story, is by far the best and is better than OG DB. Especially in character writing and development, Z solos.

@@thelettucebarrel7784 Z is a mess of plotholes and retcons from the get go, though. I liked Z more too in spite of this until my last rewatch of DB. I think you're getting nostalgia blind you, because to say it's that much better is silly, because again it's just swarming with plotholes that Dragon Ball simply didn't have. There might've been questionable silly things here and there, but this was Toriyama at his finest, and his favorite fights are in Dragon Ball. Z has really bad pacing, and there's only really one arc dedicating to finding the Dragon Balls whereas DB has 3 and you see the whole world. Not just depressing flat landscapes or rocks everywhere. This is the only reason I like the Cell Saga that much, it's more similar to Dragon Ball than the others, or it's trying to be. Saiyan's just ruined the buildup of every other good character. "Oh, so that's why Goku would get stronger every time he'd battle" except that was never once the case. He didn't get a zenkai almost dying in DB a single time, and if he did he wouldn't have had to go drink Super Spirit Water to unlock his potential when he had Yajirobe bring him up the tower the 2nd time. You see the buildup of Son Goku, how he became so powerful training with God, and the story was good enough to end right there. Flash forward to a toddler overpowering Goku and Piccolo Daimao. Every character gets sidelined and you hate to see it. I don't really care about Chaozu, but Tenshinhan is one of the best characters, and his battle with Goku is one of the best in the franchise. Also listed as one of Toriyama's favorite battles. That's what Dragon Ball is all about. Adventures, mystery, growing stronger, overcoming obstacles, finding these magic balls that can grant any wish, and especially a focus on martial arts and martial arts tournaments. Z attempted to have something like this, but failed. The Buu Saga could've been better if it transitioned right into the big bad of the next arc in the perfect way it did in Dragon Ball, especially in the anime. But instead, before we see like any fighting, these strange guys appear. The least we could've been given was a pure martial arts tournament again, they finally had the OG announcer guy back and all too.

@@Valientlink Absolutely not, it has nothing to do with nostalgia, Z is just objectively better than OG DB and is Toriyama’s best work, his pinnacle. I’m not gonna get into a huge argument in the KZbin comments about hot Z just blows OG DB out of the water in terms of writing, if you wanna do that then let me know where we can have a private conversation, until then, I’d say your judgement is just lacking.

DBS is good and has good moments but it's mostly comic relief and has sometimes slow pacing not to mention the fact they sidelined most of the characters and didn't give them much screan time until T.O.P, as well as changing Goku's personality from sometimes serious and sometimes smart to being stupid and very childish, i mean he's kinda always been a little childish in Z but they made him into a full blown man child in Super who just loves to fight those that can give him a challenge even if it means risking the lives of others, I've never read the Manga but i hear that it's better than the anime

I don’t think DBS is bad, I actually thinks it’s mostly good and only has some low moments. But piggybacking off of one of the most critically acclaimed things ever, the expectations are always going to be difficult to live up to. Also, there was no character *regression* in Super, this is just misinformation that’s been passed around the fandom by people who don’t actually really know what they’re trying to say.
