Ultimates, not combos. Combos are the important part here. You can do as much damage as any of these (except Final Shine) with a few Combos that are put together well. The game is more based on combos.

I like that Frieza has what looks like his Imprisonment Ball, and in general the idea of multiple ultimate moves per character is something I've been waiting for. However, it's disappointing that Goku still doesn't have the Dragon Fist. Non-canon or not, that move was really cool.

Jose Acosta in the game Dimps gives you a costume for every character each of those costumes has different moves and stuff,I have the game and there are quite a few cool ultimates. Actually, those are ultimate attacks. Super kamehamehas, perfect kamehameha, father&son kamehameha and big bang kamehameha. You can do normal kamehameha as a normal skill :)

Budokai had barrages as ultis aswell, if anything it had more annoying minor attacks posing as bigger attacks. however, if youre talking about the SNES tenkaichi games. then i must admit the games have come and gone...

Ok, why is that so many fans get so mad when they see Trunks do a Kamehameha? "Why does Trunks know the Kamehameha, he shouldn't know the Kamehameha!" Within the context of the Dragon Ball Universe is it really that unusual? During his fight with Goten, Trunks is the one who corrects him when he mispronounces it, so he clearly knows what it is! Goku, Yamcha and Krillin all learnt the attack themselves by simply watching the Turtle Hermit doing it, and even Tenshinhan (Tien, whatever) was able to pull one off after seeing it only once! You honestly think Trunks couldn't do the same thing from watching Gohan?

Seriously, you pretty much only have 3 special attack in Tenkaichi: Multiple beams, Singular beam and Charge attack, heck even regular attack where copy and paste: Regular punch all have the same hitbox, and you only have 7 combo ender, all of wich are spread along all the character in the game: You have the punch in the gut that stuns the ennemy for a bit, the five quick attack, the force push, the explosive punch in the gut a la Vegeta against Zarbon, the regular combo ender, the trip attack and the uppercut in the air. And those are just combo ender, your only way of starting a combo is either mashing the regular attack button, wich is the same hitbox for every character, and even the animations are recycled a lot, mashing the ki blast, again, who almost all have the same properties for every character, aside for those who can't actually use ki blast. Look, I love the Tenkaichi series, I really do, but it still annoys me when people praise it for the variety of it's gameplay, when literally half of the special move are the same rushdown attack, just with different damage output and animation, at least, there's a lot more variety here when it comes to properties and hitboxes.

budokais are too similar to other fighting games with that side camera and i didnt like the slow pacing and the need to do a fucking combo for every ki special/ultimate it just seem like the cut and paste gameplay from tekken;street fighter etc. tenkaichi gameplay fits the series a lot more with open eviornment and free mobility with faster pacing, more combo move depth, slightly better customizable items. it just felt a lot more original and necessary. similar character fighting styles isnt a big problem to me, they all had different combination of moves and abilities, no characters were exactly them same considering it had over 180 characters and the budokais had like 30... nothing wrong with the budokais but i think tenkaichi series does more justice to the source material (imo)

Shisui frosty 3.5 Xenoverse Is on FLEEK Im glad this focus's on combos I also like the new way they do moves liek kamehameha, but having them look like there hit would be better, hopfully a patch later Im so tired of me going online and by time I can hit again my foe has already combo'd me down to 1 half bar of health, but in this, you punch, dodge, ect. Its not one person hitting, your hitting at echother, this is one of the most balanced DBZ games ever, I still wish they could patch up the moves looking tad better
