I also like that quest called "Great Ape Festival" (one of the last ones). The apes are really easy to defeat, and if you clear it in under 3 minutes a time patroller shows up, and then you just have to beat him. It's also one of my personal favorites because it also offers a pretty good amount of xp, so u can grow your character while searching for the dragon balls

Another tip to people for farming at the number 2 pq, kill yamacha, tien and krilling before the time counter hits 14:38 (doubt that this is a must, but a patroller pretty much always spawns for me then) then kill the patroller, go forward to the next stage and kill howerver you want, your end grade of the mission pretty much doesn't matter either. I've recieved a B as the end grade, and still recieved a dragon ball as a loot. Also, don't remember who did say so, but don't farn with your created character, do with with default characters (I used lots of Goku's) and looted like 7 dragon balls on 1 single day, not even half a day passed by! Farming them ballz are piece a cake and goes pretty fast too!

Same here. Mission 2 is better IMAO. Also I feel that every time you get a Dragon Ball, the chances of getting the next one goes down. While Farming for them, each one were easy to get, but when I tried to get the last one...I almost never got it. It took me over 2 hours to get the last one.

Ahmad Alifi Nope. I gather them during the Saiyan Saga, but you need to beat the Saiyan Saga in order to use them; you don't need to beat the game 1st. I know because I've done it.

Just to help you out too originally I spent a lot of time on level 2. I discovered hitting retry decreased my odds of a patroller and of a ball drop. Returning to tokitoki on the other hand and restarting that way gave me around 50/50 of having a ball and a 75% chance of having a patroller. Level 18 I tried from this video and I could not be bothered returning to the city all the time and the retry method panned out the same as level 2. Finally, level 15 I enjoyed that, thanks for showing me. As I am level 83 I made quick work of Freiza, theres no need to retry or return to the city as it did it for me. I also agree with your last hit suspicions.

If you beat the Demigra saga, you can get a crystal time chasm shard as a key item. You can get 3 through parallel quests, 1 from an NPC and 1 from finishing the Demigra saga. You need these to unlock the Broly saga

Well, thanks to this video, it took me less than an hour gathering all 6 balls I was missing. I did it by replaying the 2nd mission over and over again. I think I didn't have to do it more than 20 times. You do have to hit the time patroller last to even get a second material item, otherwise it just gives you one (and of course no key item). This is based on only one occasion. I suppose they made it easier since XV2 was released, I wouldn't know, I just bought this yesterday. The wishes are pretty cool (^^,)

I think I got lucky 'cause I just got 3 dragon balls in about 2 hours, so... One thing to notice is that as long as you keep retrying because you didn't get what you wanted, if a time patroller spawns, it's always the same character until you finish the quest and start it again. Maybe some are more generous than others when it comes to dragon balls ?? You definitely do have to be the one KO-ing the time patroller, otherwise, like I said, you just get the one material item and no second reward.

Go with mission 15. Once you can kick Frieza's ass, it's the fastest way even with going back to Tokitoki. Since killing the patroller is a part of the quest, they show up almost everytime if you make quick work of Frieza. Plus, the drop rate for dragon balls seems to be much higher.

If u battle the patroller for at least a minute and a half u always get dragon balls except when ur on your last dragon ball then its a little harder but dont kill the patroller quickly or u get material items

From my OWN experience on PS3 only the first Dragon ball I got appeared as "You got a key item". I found 2 more and both times it just said "you got a material item". I noticed that when finding both of those additional dragon balls, that I not only got an item directly from defeating the Time Patroller, but an additional item popped up on the playing field. So with that, you never know, just play the whole mission through.

I personally prefer the Return Of The Great Ape Festival mission as the Time Patroller is guaranteed to show up if you get the ultimate finish and I think has a higher chance of dropping a Dragon Ball. I did the mission three times and I got 1 Dragon Ball and repeated the three missions 2 more times (another 6 missions) and got 3 Dragon Balls so roughly 4:9 ratio of getting a Dragon Ball and not getting a Dragon Ball hope this helps

In my opinion, level 15 is the best especially whenever you have a mentor and just chose them to come with you and so you have to do the mission to get a dragon ball and so you get more experience for you mentor either way

Tonight was my first time looking for the dragon balls, but I was only aware of Mission 2. I spent an hour and a half on the mission, and it took me eight plays to get the first six dragon balls. It took me another six to get the seventh ball. I'd call it an average of 20-30 plays to summon Shenron, but only 7-15 on a good day.

Ooh! I just randomly got another Dragon Ball. In Tokitoki, Goten asks you to do a training mission and fight the other Z-Fighter Saiyans. After defeating kid Trunks and Goten a Time Patroller appears in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber just like in mission 2. New Ball location, but probably only playable this once.
